How much a cruise tourist will spends a night vs how much a monger spends a night in Sosua, and how many nights a cruse tourist stays in Sosua vs how many nights a monger stays in Sosua?
The point is, although the cruse tourist spend less, but the money will go to the government, while a monger spend much more and the money will go to the people of Sosua and not the Government.
The result is, better conditions for mongering with different rule of engagements, just like Cuba.

Now a phone lets you have email, a Facebook presence, and get on Dominican Cupid or any of the dating sites. A smart phone pretty much is the difference between a a barefoot campo chica and a a western union diva. Even without minutes a smartphone can be used at wifi hotspots.

In all my trips out of the country (even from DR) , this was the first time they actually went through my luggage. Stuff was falling out of my bags, the TSA guy asked me to sign a paper saying all my money had been returned to me. I replied, I have no idea if all my money is still here. He said, then count it. Meanwhile flt officials and other TSA agents are screaming at me to get on the plane.
They saw gifts in the bag for a girl I know. Screamed "where did you meet? Do you give her money? What's her number, e mail? That day was pure hell.
Maybe one of the lawyers on the forum could give their opinion of Rit Teach's experience.
