After traveling in and out of Thailand for almost 20 years now, I was for the first time ever asked by an IO last August, when returning to Bangkok after 4-5 days in Jakarta, to show proof of my flight out of Thailand within the next 30 days. Never happened before, though it has happened the airlines ask before boarding for Thailand (they would also require you to show within 60 days in your case). If worried about that, I'd book a fully refundable one-way ticket to some nearby country.
P.S. I think at the moment you get 60 days visa exempt when entering Thailand, if you before got only 30, so maybe you do not need a (tourist?) visa.[/QUOTE]Never been asked for a outbound ticket by immigration. I have been asked by the airlines. Phuket to Malaysia or hatyai I to Malaysia via air asia are cheap tickets if you need one.

They know about the 60 days stamp with no visa. So anything above the 60 days needs a visa. They see your return flight in the system.

I know this because its my job to know, plus I've seen examples that would contradict your statement. The immigration officer and your airline have the right to ask you to show a return or onward flight within the period of the initial 60 days. The immigration officer has the right to also ask for proof of travel funds in the amount of 20,000 Baht or equivalent in foreign currency and proof of accommodation.
Will they or will they not ask, that is the question. Let's start with the airline. This is an easy answer. Call them and ask them their policy. Then act accordingly. That may mean you buying a cheap throw away ticket to Cambodia for example. For immigration, they will check your previous travel history, age, appearance and consider the way you talk. As there is now no limit by air, land or sea on how many times you can enter in one year by visa exemption, it's all up to the discretion of the officer now.
My advice to you is not to leave anything to chance. Buy yourself a cheap throw away ticket to show your airline and immigration if they ask. Then do your 30 day extension as normal and have fun. However, generally you won't be asked anything by immigration if your travel history is not tainted with many visa exempt entries. Hope this helps.

So, whether the IO will ask or not, it's the check in agent asking 100% of cases should your ticket not fit with the standard rule. "Are you a resident? "do you hold a 90 days visa. ". These are the common questions. If one fails, boarding will be denied.

Random checks might be performed, a deeper check might happen if he has suspicious, or your name is in a black list (check in agent does know this), or you overstayed, or you have been in the country far too many days than normal for a tourist. It is worth mentioning that on case the check in agent fails to check evidences, as allowing to board someone with no visa or so, the airline will be fined by 5 k $ and will have to return the passenger with the first flight back.

Not another one. The flaw in your logic, and its your own logic and not a fact, is this. If what you say is true, nobody would ever get refused entry. So how would you explain the three clients of mine from the US just last week being refused entry? They were screened by the airline but the IO still refused them entry. Why? Because they had travelled here too often as a tourist. Your logic is completely false and the facts are completely false. IOs refuse entry all the time. Thats right. Even when the passenger was cleared by the airline. What makes you think the airline is the only line of defense and the IOs do nothing. You are dead wrong mate. Sorry to say. Although the exit flight is not a listed requirement for the 30 day extension, the IOs ask this sometimes when doing the extension. Just like the IOs in Pattaya that ask to to see the TM30 to do the 30 extension when the IOs in Bangkok do not care. So. I have seen incidences where the IO did ask for the flight out before granting the 30 day extension. The officer decides.
In the OPs case, we covered the most likely time he would be asked and that is before boarding his flight and at the entry desk after he arrives in Thailand.

I couldn't hear or understand clearly what the IO was saying to her colleague about me, but seemed to be related to me leaving Thailand some days earlier after using up my 30 days, and now coming back again.
I could have spent half the day at that shopping mall out in Laksi like I did last year for a 30 day extension instead (it had a decent gym where I could wait, so wasn't too bad, though not a great way to spend the day), but this time I decided to use it as an opportunity to be a sextourist in Jakarta for a few days instead. Jakarta was so great that I'll be doing the same next time probably.

Well, I'm about a month out from my big trip to Pattaya and I'm looking for the inside skinny on the best approach to work Thai friendly. I already have an account and I already have a LINE ID and I can already kind of see how it's like shooting fish in a barrel. The response rates etc this far is honestly almost overwhelming. I do not plan to only utilize Thai friendly. I want to experience all that Pattaya has to offer. Let's say you sign on to the website at 2 pm in the afternoon how easy is it to set up a couple of evening dates? How easy is it to set up a threesome maybe asking the girl if she has a friend she would like to bring? Is it suggested to set this up or communicate in advance or when you have your boots on the ground? How realistic is it to sign into the site and just start messaging those you see active online at that moment and then within a few hours have them at your hotel? How likely is it that I can set up a 4 AM date for my first night arrival is that's when My ETA is to roll into Pattaya from Bangkok international.
Also, should I be somewhat graphic in my description and describing what I'm seeking with them or just kind of let it play out upon arrival? I. e. I'm looking for BBFS, CIM etc? Whatever it might be.

Look for the ones who have been online in the last few minutes. Your first few choices might not reply, so don't count on any one particular girl. Use phases like "Are you available right now? My hotel is on Beach Road near Soi 13". After she replies, be sure to discuss details such as price, BBFS, CIM or whatever concerns you. You may find out that none of the 5 goodish-looking girls you've been messaging cares to answer. What doesn't help is that if you are a non-paying TF member you need to wait for 5 (or 10?) minutes before messaging back.
