There are women everywhere if your negotiating is a bust. No biggie. I went to the pharmacy today and was on line directly behind a working girl on her day off. It was so obvious she was a GDP. Sundays alot of the GDPs dont attend.

The prices on that guide went up like 2 years ago to the price that you posted. I haven't been to that place in maybe 4 years or so. I'm not sure if there is or ever was a gringo price, but they definitely would charge gringos everything up front with no refund whether you get a girl or not. Some people used to get by just paying the entrada upfront if you were a regular, other than that they would not budge. I don't know if they have relaxed the rules since 2005, but I'm not willing to risk $420R to find out. Plus at the time their girls were not any better than the other termas imho.

It is 8:20 pm Rio time and I just left Mabs. I sat there for about 3 hours drinking chopp (draft beer) and a free caphirina (national drink of Brazil, which is whiskey, sugar, and lime). I ignored 2 girls who tried to get my attention for 30 minutes by adjusting my IPOD whenever they looked my way.

The chicken does not have the crust American fried chicken had, it is just fried as is; a little healthier. Ask for pepper (pimento?) to go with it; Just place the juice on it.

Anyway, the blonde showed up and sat down. She ordered herself a beer (a bad sign) and ate a few pieces of chicken (they give you more than you can eat alone). We talked.

I was drunk, but on top of my GAME! I asked her how much. She replied, "you know." This meant the R200 she and others usually charge in Copa. I ordered another chopp and put my IPOD back in my ears. Then I told her NO!
I informed her that I had many girls who ask for r100, though you all know I often pay R50. I was trying to give her a chance to adjust the price.

She looked shocked and then sayed bye and left. I could care less, because I have game (not going to get into what this is but it has nothing to do with learning Porto or dancing in centro or Lapa.LOL!)

Oh yeah, before this happened she asked for the check from the waiter (again a bad sign as you should never let women dominate). He brought it with the beer and I gave him R100, for a 56R tab. He brought the change and I gave him 10R. She grabbed his hand and said let me see. SHe then said, "Oh, that is bus fare, why not taxi fare." These Copa girls can be disrespectful. At this point I would not have given her money to buy a condom!

I just tried getting into GpGuia. I was using a proxy setting that had previously worked, and got a request for a Username and Password, (which I conveniently forgot.)

After changing the proxy settings, (and a bit of trial and error,) I was granted access to the site WITHOUT a Username and Password request.

Reason I went over there: I was looking to see if there were any post about Help's impending closure: I did not find any.

I don't know DR but I suspect the scenes in Rio are more complex. Very big city. Lots of different scenes. Read the forum and Bubba's guide and have a great time. :)

We all know if there is chemistry between you and the girl you are in for a hell of a time. If there is no chemistry then a mongerer would be better going home alone. Hung around Copa today and took some black Americans to BA 85. I will NEVER DO THAT AGAIN (take American/gringos anywhere). Rio nightclub closure leaves prostitutes Helpless

After 25 years of late nights and throbbing hangovers, the dancefloor of the Help discotheque is set to host its last party on Friday 28 August, as the government moves to clean up the city before Brazil hosts the 2014 World Cup.

Rio's governor, Sergio Cabral, has unveiled a R$65m (£21m) plan to bulldoze the nightclub and replace it with a music-themed museum designed by the US architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the same company that gave a facelift to New York's Lincoln Centre.

Cabral, who is campaigning to bring the 2016 Olympics to Rio, says the museum is part of a drive to improve living conditions in the city, which has also introduced pioneering policing initiatives in several slums including the City of God favela made famous by Fernando Meirelles's film.

News of Help's imminent closure has gone down badly among the estimated 2,000 freelance prostitutes who use the club for business, often to support their families. "We only use the club to meet clients. This is not a crime. All we do here is dance and have fun," Patricia Alcantara, 30, told the Rio newspaper O Dia. "With the closure of Help we will have to go on to the streets."

Thaddeus Blanchette, a north American anthropologist who has written extensively on the club, said closing it would not reduce levels of sex tourism but would make the prostitutes' lives "more complicated and, ultimately, dangerous".

He said: "What will happen is that many of the women who are currently 'freelancers' and use Help will be pushed to accept, to one degree or another, pimps as they will have to work the old traditional venues or the infinitely more dangerous street scene. How smart is this guy. He's going to improve living conditions by putting 2000 people out of business. I checked a minute ago and learned that an influx of money improves living conditions, not spending money to build a museum that probably won't make near as much as it is going to cost to build.
