The biggest expense with solar and wind are upfront costs which means the economic viability of solar and wind are interest rate dependent. The higher the interest rates, the less solar and wind make sense. And the prices of natural gas and oil and coal are not static. And wind and solar vary tremendously based on where they are placed. Wind in West Texas makes sense. In places with little wind, it does not. In the desert, solar makes sense. In frequently cloudy Germany, putting in solar panels was one of the dumbest things I had ever heard of.

And given all the variables, saying something is 41 to 53% cheaper is just as dumb. With what interest rate? With what gas or coal price? Where are the plants being built?

But the German solar plants may have been smart in comparison to China building wind mills and solar farms to power the cities no one lives in.

So the UN saying things are cheaper ranks up there with the millions of deaths caused by cutting USAID funding. It is a worthless exercise. It is mental masturbation masquerading as fact.

Given that natural gas plants cost so little up front and wind and solar cost so much up front, the best thing that could happen for an alternate energy humper like you would be for interest rates to come down which ironically you Democratic douches do not want.
