I guess you were not paying attention ...
[QUOTE=BBBJ]Here's a question for the more experienced with Soi Cowboy.
Last July, I walked into Long Gun on Soi Cowboy. Sat down at the podium and enjoyed the girl doing the Bangkok shuffle. I noticed some very attractive ladies on stage and was waiting to meet them after their shift... but while many girls came in, I couldn't see the girls I noticed on stage.
How do I solve this?
- should I go the American way and give the girl a tip on the podium?
- is there some 'mama san' that I should request the girl from while she's still on stage?
At the end that night, I simple picked a girl I liked (not sure if I saw her on the stage earlier) and had a good session.
I'll be in BKK this December for two nights, so I want to go about it in a more professional way this time around.
Can anybody offer me some wise words of advise?
Thank!

BBBJ,
Whenever you go to a new city, state, country, etc., you need to be more observant. Watch what's happening around you and observe what the experienced hobbyists do. Better yet, do some homework before you go to these places. Research and observation will be well worth it. Look, I may be making the wrong assumption here and you may be a very experienced traveler. It's just my initial reaction to your post.
Now, to answer your question, you do not need to wait until the end of their shift. BKK go-go's are also not U.S. strip bars. You do not need to be tipping them "garter" style. Have one of the waitresses call the girl down for you. Just point her out! There's a reason they are on stage, the last\least of which is for your entertainment. Flag the girl, have a drink and see if there's chemistry, and then pay the bar fine. Skip the drink if you don't feel it's necessary or worth the time. I find that it's a good feeling out process, to weed out the merc's from the gems.
I hope this info helps.

May be, but there's a more than a few gems ..
[QUOTE=Retired Army]Anyone who has spent more than a week in Bangkok isn't impressed with Nana. It's just a tourist trap.

Yes and no. There are more and more mercenaries in NEP, but I will always pay a visit there. I have had some great experiences with some of the girls there, and found a real gem a few months ago. She was the best that I have had in BKK and she was working the Rainbow Bar on the ground floor. Accepted 2,000 baht with no questions asked and we just clicked.
Each place (NEP, Cowboy, Night Clubs, Artist Bars, Pool bars, etc.) have their pros and cons. I don't think ruling out any one place is ever a good idea. All it takes is one. All of us on the board are very different Joe's, with one thing in common, and that's the hobby. That's where the similarity often ends. Some of us are young, some old, some fat, some chiseled, Asian, Caucasian, rich, poor, laid back, aggressive. Everyone will have a preference and having options is always good.
