I'm another current guest at My Wild Vacation (and a 1800 post member on TERB.CA who met Montreal Friend on his last day. I read his post and had a frank talk with Tom about it. Although he is pretty laid back he chuckled at your account of things and said you NEVER asked for any of your money back nor EVER said that you were not happy except on the very first day when you said that you weren't happy with Dana because she wouldn't do what you wanted. So they changed your girl for you to Carola and you were absolutely ecstatic.
FWIW, The other french speaking Montreal resident who was here at the same time (not together) liked it so much that he is staying a second week with us.
I will agree that the place would be 100% better if a fresh coat of paint were applied but I'd hardly call it beat up. Yup, there IS an open air bathroom and *I* love it. A shower is a really neat experience IMO but hey, if you don't want to get wet there are other bathrooms available.
To be sure, this is the third world but therein lies the charm, again IMO.
The facility is clean, safe and comfortable. The staff is exceedingly accommodating and they will do anything to make things right. The girls, like all latinas are a bit like herding cats, As always YMMV! I can say this though... some of the guys -ahem- forget to brush their teeth before breakfast and I can only pity any poor girl who had DFK attempted on her for a wake up quickie.
Hygiene is more than a greeting!

Now, if someone could explain to me, someone who has been to Venezuela and the Dominican Republic before, why they would pay those outrageous prices down there or in the DR, that would be a real help for me. Has there been a shortage of hot girls in these countries and have they all been herded into these camps?

EA[/QUOTE]The prices quoted at Viking in the DR (US$3,900 for 4 days/3 nights) is a luxurious high end sex vacation, however I personally prefer the latina girls and temperament. The MWV in Margarita (US$2,550 for 7 days/6 nights) is my kind of place. Simple, but relaxed and welcoming.
"Why would you pay those prices" - well the price includes accommodation and food and drinks - that is probably about $150/200 a night at an all inclusive hotel. The other $200 per 24 hours is resonable for time and sex spent with a beautiful latina. North American markets charge more than that an hour!!
Perhaps sex can be bought cheaper in the third world, but you need to know where to go to find it, be able to speak the language to negotiate, need to find an escort friendly hotel - all of which are hastles that I personally do not want. Additionally the MWV villa provides a venue for instant sexy parties, nude bathing etc. which yoiu would not be able to arrange on your own. The Viking experience is not even using the local girls, but fly in girls from "Russia" - that increases the cost, but does not provide the choice or persoanlity of my chosing.

It has been posted here before (by me and by others) that there are certainly cheaper alternatives. You can get all inclusive hotel rooms on the beach for under $50, and finding girls is not hard most times of the year. However, there are lots of guys who don't like "the hunt". Some guys are willing to pay a bit more to take away the varaibility. We've all had those nights where things just never click and we can't find a girl. If your vacation is just a few days, it is worth paying extra for the guarantee of having a 24-hour companion right there in the hotel.
Yeah, if you want to go out to a bar and pick up a working girl, you can probably find one willing to do toda la noche (all night) for a lot less than you'd pay at an all inclusive resort. But there is always the chance that you won't, or that you'll find someone who will rip you off, or just not meet your expectations. The all inclusive resorts are for the guys who want everything taken care of, from the time you get off the plane in Caracas to when you ship out again for home.

The resorts bring in girls from the mainland, so you know there will always be companions available.
It is interesting to note that while my negative post about My Wild Vacation was factual, those who decided to express an alternative view so far have decided to take a angry tone along with impolite personal attacks against me, even though they do not know me.

Now, I am a very imperfect human, but to accuse me of lack of personal hygeine is quite cheap and very inacurate. On the contrary, I'm quite strict on cleaness, in every ways.
Finally, I should bring additionnal factual clarifications in rebuttal to the post of my "friend" from Toronto.
He invoques in support of his case against me the "fact" at the other French Canadian that was with me was fully satisfied by his trip. Well, I just received an e-mail from that fellow on January 26, 2007 in which, on the contrary, he writes:
"(...) Ormis sa présence je suis d'accord avec toi que c'était onéreux pour les services recus."
(Translation: Aside from her (the girl he was with) presence, I agree with you that it was expense relative to the services rendered).
Secondly, I did formely ask for a reimbursment of 1/3 of my money to the latino manager that was there. The owner simply was not there at that time.
Finally, I have every right to have a different opinion than some about My Wild Vacation and to express that opinion, along with specific facts, without getting insults from any people.
Again, I think that the fact that some people who were NOT present at the time of these events come out to insult me, without factual elements, says a lot about who they are and about the credibility that they should be given.
In conclusion, some readers here may still want to go to MWV.com regarless of my warnings, and they have every right to do so, but I have, I feel, a right, and even an obligation, to share with my fellow members of this site, the facts that I stated in my initial post below.
Again, in my opinion, and based on the facts stated below, people can live a better sexual advance / Girl friend experience elsewhere and, this, at a better price.

The real play in those "adult" resorts is spend a week down there and then negotiate separately with the girl before you leave. Despite the big prices we have to pay, the girls get paid a very small % of your guest fee. It all goes to the owner, and administrative costs. The working girls of Isa Margarita live mostly as montañeras (SA word) or jibaras (Puerto Rican word) for "hillbilly" girls. Deplorably poor.
If you work on your Spanish you can assuredly work out a side deal with one of the "in house" girls and steal her away from the place for your next trip. Often 1/4 the price and maybe a gift or two for her mother. :)
I still email Anjelica often. Former pro who is out of the biz but to select clientele. She never worked in one of those adult resorts and she's not THAT ugly, is she?

Beer is Bs10.000. Take a girl to the back it cost you Bs300.000 These prices are close to north America level!
This is not my type of place, there is cheaper and better to be had in Porlamar.

I have thought about this place a few times since hearing about it on the Playboy channel. After seeing the various message boards, I'm not sure. I really don't want to spend that kind of money and be disappointed. I just tell myself, if I spend that same money in Rio, I'd be living like a king. Their web site has a forum, but 'cmon, whould they really positive the negative. I spend about $4000UDS twice a year for trips to different places, not rally interested in going to a unproven place.

You're right on the money about learning spanish to exponentially increase your good times in latin america. I've studied spanish off and on for a few years, I'm at an intermediate level yet not near fluent (always more fluent after 3 beers) and it helps tremendously. I've chatted up plenty of lovely ladies all over, CR, Buenos Aires, Venezuela, Cartagena, all over, some pros, some just regular civies, and it makes a huge difference.
I met a civie (actually school teacher) in BA, over 20 years younger than me, cute and sexy, chatted her up in spanish, then she wanted to practice her english so I spoke spanish, she spoke english, this went on for a while before I walked her back to her apartment. She went from mild mannered school teacher to raging nympho in no time, all for the cost of a beer.
Also got a regular girlfriend in CR, cute civie, almost 20 years younger than me, sexy, smart as hell, petite spinner with tan lines (god, I love that!) that does not know the word, "no" when it comes to making daddy happy.
I found that speaking the language, knowing how to dance some salsa, merengue, cumbia, whatever is popular where you are going, these things help and are not that hard to do. Also learn something about the place, whether it is history of the place, the popular singers, actors, etc. something that you can talk about with the lovelies. And get out of all the monger bars, there are plenty of civies out there to meet.

Rock, Isla Margarita is not where you want to be for a sex holiday. You can use it as a jumping off point to get to Puerto La Cruz where there is everything from street action to seedy brothels.
