On the one hand, we have farmers supposedly getting killed because the tariffs mean there is an increase in supply of farm goods that cannot be sold abroad which should mean cheaper prices and on the other there are rising prices due to tariffs. There is going to need to be an adjustment, and there are always cheaper food choices. I bought my gal a single cup coffee maker. That costs about a $1 per cup versus the $5 you pay at Starbucks and it takes 3 minutes. You can even buy the Starbucks brand. Coffee prices are up, but that Starbucks lines are not going down.

There is going to be a need for automation in agriculture to make up for all the illegals being sent back as well. Again, that is an adjustment that will take time. Trump has been in office all of eight months.

Even Trump himself is taking the new anti-obesity injections. You cannot believe how many people are on those and how ridiculous the prices are. That is something government and Trump could do if they got their shit together. That drug class is almost single handedly causing massive health care inflation. That can be fixed and fast.

The other big thing is lower interest rates will lower mortgage rates and the cost of buying a home or lowering mortgage payments if you own one. Home prices and rent are dropping like a stone around me and home prices are way too damned high. I am not seeing the inflation like we had in 2022. If you get rid of the illegals, you will see wage inflation and a decrease in prices due to lower demand.

But yeah, there is going to be an adjustment and a short term rise in prices as adjustments are made after the illegals are deported and companies learn how to get around the higher costs of tariffs. The tariffs should result in more production in the USA which IMO is a good thing but again, that will take some time.
