Probably the single most disappointing encounter of my mongering life has been at NF. In the bar she was all flirty and grabby with promises of swallowing, anal, an all night session with as many a pops as I could deliver. But once back at the apartment it was one big let down. I seem to recall reporting about a couple years ago about this encounter. It was all argument and confrontation once the money was in her hand. Which blew me away because she was stunning. And just for an added twist, her so-so English in the bar at NF all of a sudden turned near-fluent back at the room. That should have been my clue to "stop payment", cut my losses and kick her out.

I'm pretty sure this was her M.O. Get to the room, get the money, and then pour on the command of the English language. Then, while I'm in shock, lay on the rules and argue with me until I'm so pissed off that I kick her out. This is more common that most will admit to at NF. There's a very high percentage of guys in NF who speak no Russian at all and are first timers to Moscow. These girls are smart enough to know that plenty of us will be in shock and kick them out (just to avoid a hassle) and never tell anyone about it.

My BIGGEST regret was that I didn't march her back to NF and rat her out to management. I have heard that if you complain about a girl to NF management, there's a pretty good chance she will be barred from future entry.

But clearly, I digress. Just "DO NOT TAKE A GIRL OUT OF NF". There is a better than 60:40 chance that YOU WILL BE SORRY.

Yes, language is very powerful. Your instinct was correct, when you observed that her English improved back at the apartment. Very few Russians speak English. So when you meet a girl who speaks English, at least well enough to engage in a business negotiation with a native speaker, it's probably because she's spent a lot of time hanging out with foreign tourists. And that kind of familiarity can breed a lot of contempt.

The best test of whether or not her promises are real is to tell her that you will pay in the morning, when she leaves. This is what most local guys expect, and this has been my experience with local girls, the ones who don't speak English. If she suddenly loses interest, then it's probably best to move on, regardless of how "hot" she may seem. Of course, you can take consolation in the fact that, no matter how gorgeous any Russki dyev might seem at the time, you can be sure there's at least a dozen more waiting for you someplace else. But if you don't have the self control to walk away (as I do not on occasion), then it's probably best to approach NF as Odysseus might have. Ask your friends to strap you to the mast and plug your ears with wax, so that you won't be able to hear the siren's song.

I agree that reporting bad service to the management at NF is the best solution. They know who their customers are and they know they won't be coming back if the girls are taking advantage of them. But, then, as you say, some guy's in town for a couple nights, and may never be back again. Who wants the hassle?

So, this is a dilemma. How does a guy, who doesn't speak any Russian, stay away from the tourist traps and still enjoy himself in Moscow? Without getting ripped off?

As far as language ability goes, I speak 4 languages, but unfortunately Russian isn't one of them. In anticipation of my Russia trip, I am taking biweekly Russian lessons, which should at least give me a basic grasp phrases like "где туалет" and "сколько стоит", but I doubt I'll have much of a grasp beyond that before I go.

Apartment #12 on the Moscow-Star site is a 15-minute walk to Night Flight, Fantasy salon or the Starlight Diner. Easy to get oriented plus there is a supermarket close for drinks ect…

One night in Moscow for the 1st time is a tough one.

You probably need some local help to make the most of 1 night. Ask Rick if one of his many relatives is available to guide. He is cool with the whole mongering gig.

You could do Fantasy salon in the afternoon, dinner at NF then take out or go cruise the Tochkas.

If you choose Tochkas starting 10-11 pm earlier is better before the prime selection gets thinned out after midnight. Can take several different stops before you find what you are looking for. I remember one local that carried a flashlight to get a better look at the girls. Not a bad idea.

Generally IMHO the more English a girl speaks the poorer the performance. NF may be easy in some respects but the expense combined with short time artists and rip offs seem to be common. Depends if you like silicone and fluff, which NF seems to specialize in. NF has never been my cup of tea.

With some local help you will have a great time.

Apartments are a better deal than hotels and more convenient in terms of coming and going. You do have to exercise a little common sense, because other people may be watching you as you are coming and going. If you take one of the Moscow Star apts., then you should be well located in the center of town.

If you are doing the crash course on Russian, focus on counting. It's a little trickier than in English and you will be doing a lot of it; money, time, addresses, etc.

I had a VERY similar experience with an engineering student last year except it was not at NF, it was at Boar House. Of course, I cannot reveal my true intentions to my Russian tutor, so it's a little awkward. I don't know how she would react if I asked her what the difference between "? " and "? ". Most of the Keystone cops speak zero English and have difficulty explaining why you should pay them. “I do not understand” is a great negotiating technique. They want to be paid quickly and move on to the next ruble generating opportunity.

It's not that I disagree with you, but I would be performing a grave dis-service if I did not at least say that I take exception to your comment about Russian pussy. Fabulous stuff to be sure, however not totally unique.

I am one of those lucky bastards who spend several weeks a year (on business no less) in both FSU and Brazil so I am in a position to do some comparative shopping with some frequency.
