If I am not staying with one of my non-pros at their houses then I like to stay at Los Arcos. I came across it by driving around with a chick when Montreal and Euro were full. It is a better place than the other two that I mentioned. The rooms pretty much look new. Nice shower, cable TV/w porn (they also rent porn movies at the front desk). Cold drink machine and ice downstairs. The only thing for me that is missing is a computer with internet. But as you know it is supposed to be a fuck shop and not a full service hotel.

Still haven't quite figured it out yet though. The first time I stayed there the parking lot was full but they had rooms. Last time the parking lot was empty and they said they were full.

Rodeo, I agree with HoleRanger, that's a tough one. You'll find plenty of beautiful, large breasted, bubble butt Colombianas in both places, and for the stunners prices are comparable. But I think I'd give the edge to Panama if that's primarily what you're looking for. It's hard to beat the looks/performance/price combination at Golden Time, and the freelance Colombian stunners in Panama on average provide better service and are more willing to negotiate on price and time than what you'll find at the Del Rey in San Jose.

In general, San Jose is more gringo friendly, and it's more point and click for the monger. You'll run across a lot of gringos, and by virtue of being a smaller city it's easier to get from place to place.

For daytime action, I like the MP's better in San Jose. They're cheaper, ranging in price from maybe $20/hr. in some of the local places to $45/hour in the best. Zona Blue and the Del Rey are more entertaining places to hang out during the day than what you'll find in Panama. Also, the best daytime options -- the Del Rey, Zona Blue and New Fantasy are all close together.

At night-time, that's a tough one. Regarding central location of the night-time hooker bars and clubs, I might give the Espana area in Panama City an edge over any area in San Jose. But then the Del Rey in S.J. from about 9:00 PM to 1:00 Am has the largest selection of freelancers of any bar I've ever been too, although admittedly some of the stunners are jaded and have an attitude like U.S. prostitutes. You'll see more hot women there than in any single place in Panama. You're more likely to get GFE at Habano's or La Bodeguita, but you don't have nearly the selection.

There are some strip bars, like Kamur, Pantera Rose, and Le Grillon in S.J. that are a lot of fun, have some reasonably good looking women, and it won't break the bank if you decide you want to have sex with one of them. San Jose definitely has the edge for mid-priced stripper bars. Only Miami in Panama is in the same league. At the high end, Elite in Panama is one of the most entertaining clubs around, and Le Palace has some really hot women. The problem is the cost -- if you're going to have sex with the woman you may be looking at dropping $500 before the night is over. In Costa Rica, the high end clubs tend to be rip offs compared to the other alternatives, and the women aren't hotter than top ones in the mid range clubs. So, anyway, at the high end I'd give Panama the edge.

I wouldn't give either city an edge as far as hotel costs are concerned, but there are a lot more of them, especially high end hotels, in Panama. Presidente and Sportman's Lodge, the most popular and best located girl friendly places in San Jose tend to fill up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays, so book early.

San Jose is more laid-back and a lot cooler (temperature) than Panama. Panama is larger, more cosmopolitan, and has better restaurants and more night life. If you're into nature, things like volcanoes, canopy rides, etc., are accessible via a day trip from San Jose. Neither city is particularly accessible to good beaches IMHO.

For a short trip I would definitely hit SJO. I have only done it once, and I call it "effortless mongering". You will not need to go hunting.

Tiny did an excellent job in his post (of course). I am not going to repeat anything. He pretty much put a guide book in a couple of paragraphs.

My only two highlights are:
SJO wins hands down for daytime action. You can do an onsite MP or go to DelRey and take out.
GFE is harder to come by in SJO. I think I was like 2 for 7 on my trip. The other girls were fun but not like some of the ones I have had in PTY>

Thanks for your inputs. Its so hard to make the decision when I had such a great time in Panama. I think my saving grace is that I love trying new places. Ideally, I should take a whole week and do 3 days in one and 3 or 4 in another. I'll probably end up in SJO though. If the women are the same in looks, I can forego the GFE as long as they perform. Rodeo, reports are that the Marriott is girl friendly -- they won't charge you extra for a guest. I think that Regulr Travlr came up with a way to get a woman in from the Casino without having to register her at the front desk -- maybe he'll weigh in here. Don't feel bad about the LePalace cabbie. That is a regular rip off. I always stay at the Marriott and the few times I have taken out of LP I got the same act. I really wanted to walk but the chicas have these outrageous shoes so its impossible. Your stuck with one of the taxi's waiting at the door.
This is also happening at Bodeguita. But there it is easy enough to walk down the street with a girl and grab another cab.

Last night was very slow. It appears that all really does shut down for carnivale because after dinner at madame changs, which was set to close at 9pm I could not get a taxi and after waiting for 10 mins or so started the long walk back to the marriott but managed to get a taxi at the hard rock cafe. Unfortunately golden time was closed as was le palace. I was in miami at 9pm then again at 11pm. At 9pm no one was there neither chicas nor customers but at 11pm things picked up. Theres a runway/catwalk type stage that girls perform on. There are chairs at the bar and TGI style booth at the side of the stage.
