We should appreciate all members which start posting reports here, even if sometimes information is repeated or tourist traps are visited - there is always the specific and ACTUAL view of that new member which adds value to this forum.

Cupidy as a tourist trap: OK, you pay a surcharge for the taxi driver who brings you there, but if the experience overall was OK, and the girls performed - who really cares? There are for sure some good performers in Cupidy, as well as in all other massage places.

I always taxi to the Prince Hotel and walk across the parking lot to Cupidity to avoid paying the taxi commission.

Overall Cupidity should not be crossed off your list. When I visited a few months ago in the early evening, I was stunned at the large number of sideline and body massage girls. It reminded me of the old days when every big body massage place had 100 girls to choose from. For the past few years I have been upset at the small number of body massage girls to choose from in the long established places. I think Cupidity has gotten a bad rap on this board.

I think it was in frustration at having to read the same-old-shit over and over again, i.e., I came to Bangkok, wow they have girls there; went to Nana where I met the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, name was Nit, Noi, etc. We went back to my hotel and had sex, I came 3 times, then I gave her a $1,000 and got her phone number. Tuk-tuk/Taxi driver took me to a massage parlour where I paid 10,000 for a soapie from some girl with a number on her chest from behind the glass. Thanks for the follow up info. I agree with you, that it's rare to see 100+ girls to choose from these days. In fact, I have not seen that in years. Even the largest soapies only have 20-30 in the fish bowls these days. They may have 100+ working there, but the girls disappear as soon as they arrive. 500 baht extra is such a small premium to pay, if you have that number of choices. I am sure someone will slam me for even thinking such a thing. As the previous poster mentioned, you can always bargain. I may give Cupidy a look on my next visit.

There's a lemming mentality that develops when everyone starts following recommendations from those who are supposedly the experts. Often, the views are based on experiences that are 5 to 20 years old. Worse, sometimes it's based on 2nd hand info. It's good to get some new blood on the boards.

You have the right to your opinion. My take is a little different. The common image of the posters on this thread, is a 40-50 year old overweight Western guy, that would never get laid in his own country and comes to BKK for that sole purpose. I have met a few of the posters and none of them fit that stereotype. Most are well to do, have great lives and enjoy traveling and the benefits that some along with that. They get laid often enough in their own home towns. BKK just provides a different experience. They have a wealth of knowledge of other cities and are very cool people.

Yes, ROD does not mean much. It's just the opinion of one man or it could possibly even be automated. Who takes it seriously? If it encourages new blood, then it serves it's purpose. You also have the option of nominating posts that you see fit, so I don't get what the problem is. What gets old is the same 3-4 guys posting all the time. I enjoy seeing the "wide eyed" first time posts from newbies. I have a hard time understanding those that try to snuff out their enthusiasm. Each post contributes something to the mix, even if it's just the same info with a different flavor.

You have a lot of knowledge of the local turf. What some of the locals and veterans forget, is that places like Nana or Cupidy or any other "tourist trap" can provide great experiences. No one place has an exclusive on gems. If you view each place on it's own merits and keep your eyes open, you can have a great time almost anywhere. The first timers often have the most interesting posts, because the views are not jaded or condescending.

There are no "sex shops" in Bangkok. You can find some sex toys if you know where to look. But, not sex shops like you find in Europe or the U.S.

If you want toys, it's best to bring your own from home.

I agree with Allover that Cupidy has a bad reputation on this board, but that it is not all that bad. Their selection can be stunning at times, about on par with CPII. Just let the pimp or mama know that you are aware of the price structure and avoid arriving at their front door in a taxi if you want to save 500 bht, and you will be OK. You can always leave and walk up the hillock to Plaza Entertainment. I have been well serviced at Cupidy on several occassions, but have never used Plaza, even though I have looked it over as many times. I plan to visit Cupidy later this month. It doesn't hurt to look.

Regardless of your opinion of Cupidity, this board provides gives you a good idea of what to expect if you visit there and how to lower the cost. I appreciate everyone's input.

My next question is about the a place with a large selection. Are there any MPs that truly have a large selection out there? I'm talking about 100 girls at a time like in the good old days.

Bit of a surprise that you never been to Poseidon MP. Many have report ups and downs with this place but by the sheer number of gals working here, most often I'd find a stunner to my liking on the times I visited. Prices are a bit on the high side depending on which gal you take but sometimes worth the extra dollars. Perhaps you need to pay it a visit and find out for yourself.
