my personal bj bar approach is to make my own selection of girl, rather than the one that is most pushy and/or gets up when i walk in. i also think going for repeat bjs with the same girl, and leaving a nice tip each time, makes each subsequent session more enjoyable. the girls that are a bit older tend to be better at it.

this being said, high quality bjs are also available when you get "take out" from beer bars, go-gos, and so on.

I don't know anything about the current "BJ Bar" but don't get too excited by the sign on Walking Street that says "Soi BJ". It refers to the old BJ's, a bar that used to sit on that corner, run by an old friend of mine named . . . BJ.

This would be Lewiinsky's (two "i"s) on Soi Pattayaland. Again, sorry to disappoint but you'll find it a lot easier to organize a golf game there than a blowjob.

I know I am several days out of sync but I am happy to say I have had my hands full.
Met up with FiftyFifty and his Kazach girlfriend (hope he has low cholesterol and a strong heart or she will kill him) We paid a visit to several of the walking street establishments, most memorable was Supergirl which still has the bath show and one of the girls was really into it. Prior to this we had been in the beach club where I barfined a 25 year old called Joop, she escorted us on our tour around the various Gogos.
As regards the cost of the evening 600bht fine and 2000bht for all night tried to bring her down to 1500 but she wouldn't budge even though the place was very very quiet and many girls must have gone home alone later in the evening.
Adding a little bit to the BJ bars discussion Kong bar on soi 6 always has willing players who will blow you just in front of the bar, the lighting is kept pretty low if you are a little shy.

I have to agree, the bars seemed very quiet but there were plenty of really nice babes around, all bored as usual.
SuperGirl was fun and the two girls in the Bath were having a great time too. Plenty of good looking babes on the stage, all dressed so that you could see what you were getting beforehand, and yes my GF was with us as she 'likes to look' :)
Beach Club was the best so far, great music and even though quiet, there was a good atmosphere and of course plenty on show. But as Luke says, prices were solid despite the apparent lack of customers.

The second night out was a laugh as my GF wore a tiny tartan mini, only to find that when we all went into 'Heaven Above' the girls were wearing very similar attire - thankfully I managed to escape with her without being collared for a barfine :D
We also foud a half-decent show in Angel Witch, similar to the one in Nana EP, but not quite as good. I am still looking for the equivalent of Long Gun in Pattaya without being taken to a rip off ''Ping-Pong Show' bar instead.

Back on the 11th to continue the search, trying to avoid the water too!

Seems like Luke and FF had a great time there. I am so D$%%% jealous, I have been reading the Pattaya reports for the last week, will only be there for one day, so far I think I will stay at the Galaxi suites as It seems to be the closest to the action, does any one have a recommendation as to the place or the short 24hr plan? The whole Thai seen is new to me, but it seems like I will have to make it a part of Asia itinerary from now on.

I will be visiting Pattaya for the third time in 3 months next week but I am wondering if I should delay my trip a couple days given next week is Song Khran. Several years ago, I was in Chiang Mai for Song Khran and had a blast. While I don't mind getting wet, I don't really want to be always soaked while walking down walking street or around the malls for example. Is it as bad as I hear or will it start dying down after Wed. April 15 and later in the week?

Just curious so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I asked a similar question a little while ago, and we had a detailed discussion on the Bangkok board about when is the best time to go from Bangkok to Pattaya given that Songkran is going on. Click back a few days on the BKK board and you will have the answer to your question, personally I am staying put in BKK until the 20th or do.

Yes, I'm afraid it is as bad as you hear. Actually it is worse than bad and goes on for around a week (only in Pattaya - Why? I don't know. I don't think anyone knows).
Basically In Pattaya for the full 7 days leading up to Songkran (remember in the rest of Thailand it only lasts for 3 days) you will constantly have water thrown at you in many shapes and forms usually from mid morning up to around 9 O'clock at night. At best you will be sprayed with water pistols, at worst you will have buckets of ice cold water thrown over you, usually while waiting in traffic either on a motorbike or while sitting in one of those open sided blue baht buses. Cameras and mobile phones get ruined, the money inside your pockets or wallet looks like it's just come out of a washing machine and you wisely dress down.

It's bad enough being a tourist there for Songkran week but I do feel for the ordinary Thai workers (and foreigners) who have to travel to and from their places of work or have to just get on with their lives and usually get a good soaking too. several times a day.

Imagine going out to dinner, or just going shopping while dripping wet and being blasted with freezing cold air conditioning once you go inside. Talk about catching a cold!

Naturally tempers flair and those who can afford it leave town. Some businesses - usually restaurants - also close for that week.

Songkran in Pattaya is basically an experience. If you are there you basically have two choices - join in or join in, don't fight it because you wont win.

Having said this, the final two days of Songkran in Pattaya are something. A great carnival atmosphere and very sensual, makes your average Miss Wet Tee-shirt contest look like a church service and if you do become attached to a favourite place or bar and fancy some of the girls, head there for the day and join in the fun.

After being in Pattaya last year through out Songkran I never want to be there again at the same time!

Check last years report and it gives detail, basically many of the girls are happy playing with plastic water pistols instead of the fleshy ones during SK.

On the good side noticed many ladies on beach road last week and the standard seemed better than previous visits.

Been there once and I will avoid being in Thailand during Songkran for the rest of my life.
Having said that, I said the same thing after one Chinese New Year gone wrong in Pattaya. Later I saw I had just been unlucky. This year, for instance, the CNY celebrations in Korat were priceless.
Which doesn't mean that I'll change my MO for Songkran: Won't be there!
