Better formed questions, make for better formed answers!
Of course, you cannot follow. You are stuck on Biden good, solar good, lithium good, fossil fuel bad.
I follow just fine thank you, if the person posing the question, knows how to properly frame a question.
It is why Tiny and Subcommander gave up on you.
Not sure what that has to do with anything, but that's funny, since from my POV, I'd thought they'd given up on YOU! Don't worry Elvis 2008, I haven't given up on you...YET!.
The cost of a solar powered system using batteries and a heat pump is in the range of $2000 to $5000 installed and the batteries add hundreds of pounds to the weight of the RV. All the other methods (lead acid batteries, propane heat, electric heat with a generator burning gasoline, propane, or diesel) run at most for $2 a night.
Congratulations you've solved your problem then for a supposed $2/night? I'll do you one better, use an electric blanket for less than $0.50/night!
Ah yes, but solar is free right and carbon neutral? No, you are burning more fossil fuel when you carry all that battery weight and once your batteries are exhausted if there is no sun, you have to go to shore power, plugging in a power cord, which is mostly generated via carbon sources. That is why carbon neutral is a fucking pipe dream.
I get the dream. You have an electric all wheel drive RV running on solar and battery. You can be cut off from the world and go wherever you want free from city sewage, water pipes, power lines, and internet cables.
And that is all it is, a dream because the batteries are just not good enough to compensate for when the wind stops blowing or the sun stops shining. The tech is just not there.
The irony is the carbon neutral vehicle that can be completely self-contained does exist. It is called a nuclear sub.
So, am I to assume from that rant, solar doesn't work for you? That's okay, a RV solar/battery set up doesn't work for everyone, or within everyone's budget.
It's okay, nothing wrong with sticking with fossil fuels! You do you, dude! What's important is, you stay nice and warm at nights!
But really, if you want more accurate answers or informational responses to your questions, that are related more to YOUR SPECIFIC circumstances, then you need to be more intentional with your questions.
What I'm saying is, I don't read minds! So unless YOU take the time to state your RV parameters, specifications, RV details or budgetary restrictions, to the question or problem (or any other), how would I know what solutions to present as viable, given your specific situation?
Check out YouTuber, JerryRigEverything and the RV solar set he installed on his friend's RV, here:EASIEST Off Grid RV Solar Power... just like a little Lego https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO23RTRIVGU This is probably nothing like your setup, but I present it, as an example of what can be done, where solar/batteries are the primary energy source and propane/gas generator is used as backup.
So, if you want better answers, the onus is on you, to better frame the question or the problem properly!.

The reason is obvious; BLS officials don't want to be fired.
The instant Trump tried to publicly humiliate and then fired the BLS official who dared to report the accurate Trump crap jobs or inflation numbers, the game changed for him and other Repub so-called presidents forever; from that moment on any good, "just ok" numbers like these or bad numbers reported must necessarily be assumed to have been doctored and massaged to appear much better than they really are.
Trust these numbers? Economists see a lot of flaws in delayed CPI report
https://www.cnbc.com/2025/12/18/trust-these-numbers-economists-see-a-lot-of-flaws-in-delayed-cpi-report-showing-downward-inflation.html?__source=androidappshare
Economists are viewing the delayed November consumer price index report with a dose of skepticism.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the annual headline inflation rate and core CPI rate for last month were 2.7% and 2.6%, respectively, well below expectations.
A chief point of concern is the way housing inflation was calculated, specifically the owners equivalent rent figure for November.
As a fortunate landlord in a desirable neighborhood of a highly desirable Greater Metropolitan Blue City Area in a highly desirable Great Blue State, I can assure you rents increased a hell of a lot more than 3% in October, November and for all of 2025 vs 2024. But unless BLS officials are granted total immunity from attacks and retribution by Repub so-called presidents who insist that all jobs and inflation reports be doctored and massaged in order to make them look much, much better than they really are under their policies and stewardship, no economist, investor or project director can rely on a thing they report when a Repub is in the White House.
Democrats despise the truth
https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/a-secret-that-the-dnc-must-never-reveal-why-they-lost-the-2024-elections/
I can tell you the summery of the report.
"The American people really really hate Democrats" at least those of us with a brain and a soul.
No shame sticking to fossil fuels! You do you
My parameters are not interesting. Everyone's parameters are what is important. For me, AC not heat is the most important. I can heat up the RV using the engine, using propane, using a space heater with lead acid batteries being charged by an alternator and solar. The AC is much more problematic. I will have access to shore power most of the time, but shore power will not run the AC. For that, I have to turn on the generator. Any problem with the generator and I am screwed.
If I wanted a cost effective AC unit, I would have a power station with a 48 volt battery connection hooked up to shore power or solar. Solar power is direct current. The most cost effective AC unit is 48 volts, but it is not the most powerful AC unit, and I want all in.
It's to bad you can't get a solar/battery and AC configuration to work for you, at the price point you want. But there's no shame that, if sticking with fossil fuels for power generation works for you and battery weight is problematic. But make no mistake about it, there are plenty of RVers (and YouTubers making it work, just fine for them), that are boondocking on solar/battery/AC systems, more than 80-90% (and some 100%) of the time off gird, with minimal to very little shore power usage.
They may have slightly bigger budgets than you, for their RV solar/battery/AC setups, but again, you never specified any budgetary constraints when you posed your question. And since you're always bragging and portraying yourself as the "Paycheck Superhero", so why would I assume, you couldn't afford such a RV setup?
For example, with a setup of 1200 w of solar, 2 x 300 Ah Epoch Lithium Batteries, 3000 w Victron (AC to DC) Inverter, AC soft start kit, the YouTuber "SolarPowerMyRV" (Denver, CO), gives a real world RV example of running your AC unit off solar and ask the question, can RV Air Conditioner run on Solar Power? Real World Demo (2:22 min) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLgiXVnbQBs, Mar 21,2025. With no battery weight issues, at all!
Not sure of the costs associated with "SolarPowerMyRV"'s setup was, but in other DIY RVers videos (ie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G-CWFRJq2k, We Attempted to DIY an RV Solar System with TILTING Panels (Cost Details!) 1,800w solar -- $14.5 K setup), yes the cost can be prohibitive, but these boondockers, all seem to say, in the end, it was worth it, and that the system paid for itself, as most are living off-grid (or without shore power), again, 80-90% of the time.
Finally, many RVers, always seem come around and say, on of the same two (2) things. 1) wish I'd done solar sooner or 2) wish I'd put in more solar, if they started out small.
So if you're serious about "...I want all in." it look like you're going to have to fork out some coin!
Solar and Wind are Cheapest and Taxpayers on the hook, for Fuhrer's failured Polices!
So solar energy is not good for data centers, and it has zero chance of being carbon free generation. Solar makes sense in a few places.
Again, tell that to China, with a 62% renewables grid. China's grid maybe not be a totally fossil free grid...yet, but just like South Australia that are now at 78% renewables grid, both have efforts and planning in place, that move them in the right direction of the flexible and resilient energy grids of tomorrow.
The U.S. electricity grids (under MAGA) not so much, although going backwards, is a direction!
Solar and wind are still more expensive than natural gas and coal, https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=63485 although there may be some sunny and windy places where that is not true, but you Democrats with the Biden plan pushed solar and wind down everyone's throat when you said the planet was going to end if fossil fuels were used.
Nice try, but that old U.S. EIA report from 2024, you are trying to pawn-off as recent data/info as the current cheapest sources energy, isn't going to cut-it. But it was a nice try!
Here are 2025 update reports on Solar and Wind, being the cheapest forms of energy:
1) In its 2025 energy outlook, the U.S. EIA found the cost of electricity generated from natural gas was $48.78 to $64.55 per megawatt hour to produce compared with $88.16 for offshore wind, $29.58 for onshore wind and $31.86 for solar. Aug. 25,2025 https://spectrumlocalnews.com/us/snplus/environment/2025/08/25/are-wind-and-solar-responsible-for-higher-electricity-prices.
2) 91% of New Renewable Projects Now Cheaper Than Fossil Fuels Alternatives, 22 July, 2025 https://www.irena.org/News/pressreleases/2025/Jul/91-Percent-of-New-Renewable-Projects-Now-Cheaper-Than-Fossil-Fuels-Alternatives The IRENA data shows, the cost advantage for new solar and wind is not marginal, but often by a whooping 40-50%.
3) Solar Now the World's Cheapest Energy, Powering the Clean Transition, October 9, 2025 https://carboncredits.com/solar-now-the-worlds-cheapest-energy-powering-the-clean-transition/ Solar energy has officially claimed the title of the world’s most affordable source of electricity. According to new research from the University of Surrey’s Advanced Technology Institute (ATI), solar power now costs as little as £0.02 per kilowatt-hour in the sunniest regions.
And why TAXPAYERS will be the only ones paying the cost, the MAGA Fuhrer's failed energy policies, for money losing coal mines, just like our $40 bn right-wing welfare to farmers:
4) The U.S. Department of Energy is keeping unprofitable coal power plants alive despite massive financial losses, citing grid reliability and energy security. $3.1bn annual cost estimated for fossil fuel plants DOE won’t allow to retire. One coal plant owner reported it spent $29 million in the first 38 days of an Energy Department order to keep it online. What does Granny Clampett and the MAGA Fuhrer have in Common?
Says the Repub cult follower whose lord and savior is once again proposing that Congress send tax-funded emergency welfare checks out to voters with his name on them so as to ease some of the pain that his typical Repub crap economic policy and stewardship results have caused America. And do it in a hurry before next year's midterm elections hand his Party its ass and thereby puts an end to at least some of that pain.
Uh. If every American was offered a job in San Diego that afforded them a beach-side home in San Diego, La Jolla or any number of those beach-side neighborhoods, most of them would pack up Granny, Jethro, Elle May and the rocking chair and drive their pick-up through 1000 miles of potholes to get the hell out of Hootervile and Dead Man's Gulch to get to it.
Funny Stuff! Thanks for the belly ache, laughs and chuckles, on that great blast from the past 60's TV show, The Beverly Hillbillies, anecdotal reference. I got to admit, the show was a perennial favorite in our household growing up. You should have heard the laughter from my dad, while he'd be watching the show. Of course Granny Clampett, was his favorite character.
Yeah, god trip down memory line, albeit rendered through the lens of a 1000 miles of potholes...nevertheless, thanks!
But speaking of knee-slapping, good ol' country blithering senile old grannies, that once TV shows, what the hell kinda year-end speech, to address the nation, what that last night from the MAGA Fuhrer?
I mean, all anyone heard, was BIDEN, BIDEN, BIDEN for 20-minutes! I guess in Trumpland parlance, it must sound an awful lot like, the senile MAGA Fuhrer is suffering from BDS!
