I know it's still a hotel with different levels of rooms (in comunist style)... but if you book for two and the girl has proper documents there is no problem at all, never got any hassle nor at Alfa nor at Delta/Gamma... most of my pics and sponsored girls are done there... The Sheraton in Moscow is about as "friendly" as it gets. It's been a few months but last time I went for drinks in the lobby bar, the place was crawling with working girls. Having said that, I have no idea how the management feels about bringing in your own girl. Being an American style hotel I would imagine that they would not object.

The surface transit in Moscow is slowly grinding to a halt. The traffic has become so bad that no one can predict at what time they will be anywhere. Fridays are no-drive days, simply because it's impossible to move. Everyone is on their way out of town to the dacha.

I wanted to see what a night club would be like outside of the city center, so I thought I'd give Strekozah (dragonfly) a try. It's a strip club on ulitsa Grina, near Dmitri Donskovo, the last stop on the Grey line. It's actually just beyond MKAD. Took me 45 minutes to get there, and that was on the metro. When you get off, take the u. Grina exit and head south, towards the McDonalds (yes, they even have a McDonalds out here).

When I arrived at Grina, I couldn't see any obvious signs of activity, but I did spy a taxi, so I walked over to ask directions. The taxist didn't recognize the name of the club off hand, but he made an open ended offer to help me find it for 100r. So, we are definately not in Kansas anymore. On Tverskaya, it costs a 100r just to get into the taxi.

We drove down to one end of the street and then back down to the other, looking for No. 3, but no luck. Then the taxist started asking directions of the locals and it turns out the club is right back where we started. I think the taxist was very embarrassed by this and he refused to take the 100r I offered. So I had to compel the taxist to take my money. That was definately a first!

The reason I couldn't see the club right away is because it's in the basement of a larger complex of buildings and the sign is behind a bunch of trees. Once inside, it's 500r entry and then down the stairs and through a bunch of curtains into the club. It's not a big place, but plenty of room to be comfortable. There's a stage in the center and there are couches that run around the walls of the club with coffee tables at regular intervals. Some of the tables are masked by curtains on either side to create a private booth, and the rest are open. It reminds me of Mister XXX a little bit, except Strekozah is smaller. The color scheme is even red and black.

It's about midnight, and the place is busy but not crowded. The ofitsanka (waitress) greets me immediately and ushers me into one of the private booths. I order a drink (50ml of Jack Daniels is 300r) and some zakuski and settle back to enjoy the show. There are 6 or 7 dancers who rotate every 3 songs. When they are done, they wade out into the audience and offer lap dances at the tables for 100r tips. This is basically an audition for the 1000r privat tanyets. After a couple of rotations, it becomes clear that the level of talent here is pretty good, much better than I had expected. In fact, it's excellent. There are a couple of real stunners. What are they doing way out here?

The dancers are strictly topless, but I like the 100r lap dance regime, I could do this all night. Each girl has her own style. Some will stay at your table longer and some are more particular about where you can touch them. It takes me a couple rotations to figure out that Masha and Olga are the least protive (against). They are pretty comfortable with where ever your hands might wander.

Having picked out 2 good prospects, the next thing to do is try the privat tanyets. Private dances are done behind closed curtains and the dancers are completely nude. So, the lap dances and the private dances have been a lot of fun, but, they leave me strangely unsatisified. If I'm reading this Crazy Menu correctly, it looks like they want 6000r to rent one of the VIP kabinyets for 1 hr. and another 10,000r to excuse one of the girls for an hour, to meet me in the kabinyet. That's a little too expensive for me, although, I have to admit, those dancers bodies are mighty fine.

I settle up my tab with the ofitsanka and head back out to the street. It's about 02:30 and my taxi is waiting for me. Not the 1st one I met coming in, but another one is there, waiting for a fare. I tell him I'm going back to tsentrom gorodye (city center) and he pauses for a moment and asks what I'm offering. I say 600, he says 800, which sounds OK by me, since he's holding all the cards. It's a long way back home.

The place isn't exactly jumpin' but there are at least 40 guys and 40 girls there, with a handful on the dance floor, most of the action towards the bathrooms and the pool table. The male population seems, um, "darker" than usual, and one of the girls there confirmed my hunch. Side note: one of the hilarious things about Russian is that they consider Caucasians (literally, people from the Caucasus mountains) to be "chyornie" (which means "black" in English). This includes all those guys you see on the news recently (Georgians, Ossetians, Abkhazis) as well as Armenians, Azeris, Chechens, Dagestanis, Turkmen, well, you get the idea. Anyway, for whatever reason there were a disproportionate number of those guys there last night. And since your average Slavic Russian girl is usually a more than a little prejudiced against them, it meant that the odds were definitely in our favor.

Unfortunately, the talent pool at that hour on a Tuesday is pretty dismal. The hot/doable/pass split probably 5/25/70. We get some drive-bys, but nothing of interest.
