Hi all,
I'll be in Rio for just a few hours (I know it's a bummer) and looking for some fun during the afternoon. I've read all about the night life but can you also have fun in centre or at the beach area in the afternoon as a gringo?

Yes and no. In the nineties Help was superb and then it started slowly to decline. The last years before Help closed in 2010 it was really bad IMO. I felt no loss when Help closed.
Today I miss Help just a little bit. What I miss more are all the other stuff that also disappeared when Help closed, Terraço Atlântico, Meia Pataca attracting GPs, ho-beach and lots of GPs at the orla.

One of the many great things about club "Helpee" IMHO, is that it fueled, created and sustained many businesses, micro businesses and entrepreneurs, who made a living from its presence.
From fresh GDP talent coming from all over Brazil, to work "Helpee" and area, drinking bars/clubs to late night taxi-drivers, bus/van operators, hustlers, street vendors, late night restaurants / eateries...etc. Its too bad the powers at be, overlook such an impact, or maybe they didn't and just didn't care, because "Helpee" wasn't empowering the right class of people.

Take a taxi to Copacabana and spend a few hours in termas Monte Carlo, drinking at the bar, enjoying looking at the girls and take one or two to a room for some sessions, very easy and straight forward. Then walk around the beach area for a bit, stop and eat then take your 40 minute taxi back to the airport.
Another option get a cheap hotel or adult motel for a couple hours and call an escort over for some fun. There are many ways to skin a cat, have fun.

In the termas, you can see and get an idea if there is chemistry before you commit and if it does not go well, you can go back and try again. Another option is to start at one of the privees in Copa -- see previous reports and finish at Monte Carlo if necessary.

Help attracted girls from all over Brasil and it was a sight to see. It was funny to see some women running to get into HELP in order to pay the discount price after they rang the bell. I went twice after Help closed and the vibe and talent (local) was horrible. I did all the tourist attractions in Rio. Did carnival, New Years, went to Niteroi, and Buzios. After T65 closed and now 4 x 4, it is a major blow to the Centro mongering scene. First, all the major escort agencies closed down, than Help, and now all these major Termas one by one.
