Pattaya Reports

Unfortunately my time in Pattaya has come to an end and I am already back home. Just wanted to give a little recap of my last couple of days. On Sunday, I visited Kinneree place for the first time. Upon entering, this attractive woman, who seemed to be managing the place, noticed my newbie self walk in and came over. She showed me around and explained the pricing. Very nice and made me feel welcome. I was hungry, but the big barbecue buffet was pretty much done with only some slim pickings left as I arrived late afternoon. She astutely pointed out that there was plenty of pussy available to eat though. Definitely some good looking chicks there but most were already taken up by other guys, the place was quite full, at least the main room was. Since this was my first visit, not sure if this is the norm. Also, being my first time there I wanted to relax a little and get a feel of the place. There also was a sign about 5 massages get the 6th free. Anyway, this place had some really young and cute chicks outside. I picked the one I liked the best and entered. I also agree Soi 6 may not be the best location to situate yourself. A favorite on this board is View Talay 6 located beside Central Festival. You'll be at Soi 6 in minutes.

The first is, you are far away from baht buses and any day time activity. You must do a good deal of walking during the day, so you can be close when you stumble home at night.

Secondly, there is a ladyboy bar right next door, and they get pushy when you walk by late at night. I have nothing against them trying to make money, but I don't like being grabbed by the arm or have my path blocked when I really just want to sleep. Although I won't be staying at Jasmine again, I'd still recommend it for budget travelers who want to be near WS. I'd also highly recommend it to ladyboy lovers. (not my thing though).

My last trip to Pattaya, I fell in love with Soi 6. It opens early in the day, has friendly company, and beer is fairly cheap. The last time I visited Soi 6, I was annoyed with my current hotel location, and I started obsessing over the Queen Victoria Inn. It seemed perfect to me. But as we all know, nothing is as good as it seems in Thailand. I figured I've give it a try anyways. I've read up on other hotels, but I keep thinking about TQVI. I figured next trip, I'd try there. If I don't like it, I'll try a different one. I've also read good things about April Suites and a host of other places.

However, if the general consensus of this board is to avoid that hotel, I'll trust your collective expertise.

Keep in mind that I don't want to blow my entire budget on a hotel, so the Hilton is out of the equation.[/QUOTE]I've tried WS hotels but found out the hard way when your trying to get back at night using a baht bus and traffic stops half a mile up the road that the walk to your hotel is just too much. I've also stayed on soi 8 but found that area too far to walk to LK metro, impracticable to walk down to beach Road to catch a baht bus and then walk all the way back up. Also stayed right near LK metro, easy to get the girls from WS and LK metro back to your hotel but a pain trying to get to WS is traffic is backed up.

My budget on hotels is in the $30 to $40 range. Go below $30 and you run the risk of running into too many Indians who like to cram 5 guys to a room. I'll go over $40 if the hotels location and amenities warrant the expenditure. I got the bayview for $40 without breakfast which in my mind is a fantastic price (1400 baht before the taxes). Have to say the Queen Victoria's rooms nicer rooms look decent (wouldn't stay in the budget or the standard rooms). That leaves the superior rooms at 850 baht (wonder if this price includes the taxes? If your going to spend $25 on a nice room at the Queen Victoria you might want to consider pattaya blue sky hotel on soi 5 that has a pool and is slightly over $31.

I'm down on Soi 6. Just ran into the Songkran Muncher. LOL. That dude is crazy. Guess that is why his name is Crazy Ben. He said he was on TV in 30 countires.

Me and my buddy just came into a bar. He tells the girl let's go upstairs. I said what the fuck dude. You never ask prices. He said I know. I said man don't do that shit. So he asks the girl how much and she says 300 for room and 1000 for her. Immediately I said no way that is too much. She said how much then. I said 700. She said okay. Then my friend said 500. I started laughing and said man 700 is the right price. Now he is upstairs with the chick. Easy Breasy.

Truth is, bargaining is a huge turn off for me, especially if the girl counters or appears uninterested. The worst thing a girl could do is size me up while trying to decide. I don't know how you all do it. I also don't know how some of you can bag 3 girls a day 20 days in a row.

Okay, I'll be there in January. I'll be getting PM privileges before my trip. I'm writing a bucket list for the place. Here are the things I really want to do on my next trip.

1. Get really hammered and ride the bull at Hooters.

2. Soapy Massage.

3. 4 girls in one day (will need pills for this one).

4. See some actual tourist stuff, like temples or statues.

5. Get a girl from a gogo.

6. Try a new hotel.

I don't want to ring any bells or buy any buckets of balls. What else should I add to my list? I've done most of the first-timer stuff. The above list is what's left for me to achieve.

I have been to Pattaya many times and love it last 3 visits I have stayed at Opey de Place in Soi Lengkee nice rooms pool clean and near to LK metro easy to get to baht buses and only 800 bhat if staying 7 or more nights look forward to stay there next time in April.

Based on what you've posted, I think VT 6 may not be for you. There are significant non- refundable deposits, you have a pay a lot for regular or even twice a week maid service. The pool is ancient. Etc. The insides of the apartments (each unit is quite different based on the owner's style, quality, money invested in bathrooms, and layout, furnishings etc.) will vary a heck of a lot , from the quality and power of AC, to shower water pressure, size of water heater etc. And, the common areas are quite run-down.

But, if you can get a high quality apartment, at the higher price points, from a high quality owner and are willing to pay additionally for daily maid service, then I would recommend it. It's not a hotel. No two units are alike. And the service is a la carte.

And the chemistry for such a multiple day / night desire. In such situations, IMO, money is just a way to help them pay rent etc. It's all a personal call though, IMO.
