Leaving aside the pointless debate about subjective aesthetic preference, I will say that I've many times had a BBBJ for $20 (600 baht), and sex for $30-40 (900-1,200 baht) back in the US. Of course the woman was picked up off the street and the services were provided in the car.

Easy, just to let you know, I'm a guy who goes consisently for Y but doesn't care a lick what other guys think or feel -- I'm almost always totally focused on the girl, and if anyone is looking at us, that's something I don't even pick up on or think about. I'm with you 3/4 of the way, except that you must be the X man, and haven't fully appreciated that there's more to the picture for guys who like Y. I'm not saying you're totally wrong, I'm sure you're correct that there are guys who fit the description you give regarding Y. I'm just saying there's also another category of guys who simply just want girl Y and, like me, just get a lot more turned on by Y. And less turned on by an X even if she is a better performer. I mean, there's guys who get turned on by toe-licking, or sex with animals, or all kinds of things -- so it shouldn't be hard to imagine there'd be guys who genuinely get turned on by beautiful women.
It's interesting that guys who tend to go for X often say that the ones who go for Y are full of shit, or like you say, just do it for the attention of other guys (which is what I would think of as a bullshit motive). Me, I'd say chances are we just have different styles. Yours works for you, but doesn't do anything for me, and I bet it also goes vice versa. In a weaker moment, I would probably think to myself "god, how can that guy go with that horrible looking girl!?!" But if I think about it rationally, I realize I'm being immature by thinking that way.

I think you are misquoting my original post. I did not say the world is black and white, and there are only cat X and cat Y.
This was merely an example to show that what works for some, does not for others and vicky versa.
There are many categories with which you can divide humans into, and certainly its not just two.
Ideally, you want "Z" who looks great but is as dirty as hell in the sack. But they are hard to find, and nearly always trouble for those that try to tame them. In my opinion.

The room I used was to the LEFT. Yes there is a larger room to the right... as mentioned ot me by the ladies..not sure about the door etc. I do recall looking that direction and seeing a morror..so possibly and open room (with view from bar).

So not the face of an angel but no bag required either. This girl more akin to devil than angel anyway. She claims to be 22, my guess a little more. 41kg, no kids, remarkably small everything, can cover hole w/thumbprint. Abundance of enthusiasm and sexuality. I always took the larger room to the right to accomodate multiple girls.
You could see out a little bit but no could really see in properly. Too dark.

Tried to go to NEP tonight but it was closed due to a fire, I think. Got to the soi around 930 or so and saw nothing but cops and fire fighters. All the neon signs were dead so crossed to the opposite to check out Beer Garden. NEP is has always been a fire hazard with all those overhead wires at the entrance but to me it is more of a safety hazard to patrons with the single entrance and exit. Hopefully no one got hurt and one day they will realize what a hazard that place is for everyone who dares to set foot in there.

Spent five days in Bangkok over the course of a few weeks, on my most recent trip.
Stayed in my usual digs, at Majestic Suites for the first stint, and at Grand President on the way back, Both totally acceptable. Majestic is the basic, GP offers a little more luxury.
After checking this board and others about where to go (it’s been four years since my last BKK visit), I checked out NEP and Cowboy as a near-newbie visitor.
In NEP, I’d heard good things about Rainbow 3, but I only saw one do-able girl in several visits. Rainbow 4 was exactly as described…”What your name. Where you from. 3000 bhat short time”, very business like. Mandarin had some lovlies, and I took one out LT. Very nice for the night but turned into a starfish in the morning.
Soi Cowboy was much better!
There are many good reviews for Rawhide and Cowboy, but in both cases I saw two smoking hot girls and a bunch of fuglies, Maybe my timing was bad but I wasn’t impressed.
Tilac had one or two cuties, but it wasn’t there for me.
Sexy Central was Shark and Baccara.
Shark Bar led the city in beautiful babes, and certainly in silicon content. You’re doomed to overpriced short-time with these girls, but they’re worth it. I took two out of here, and they were both friendly and performed well. One was a bleach-blond, enhanced-breast piece (Eow?) but she was friendly and accommodating, those large things were expertly executed and natural to my hands and she provided wonderful service. Second was a tiny perfect thing (don’t remember her name but if you’re there you’ll know. No.18?), again friendly and did me well.
Shark was the opposite of the worst. Yes, overpriced and only short-time for the beauties, but the girls are very friendly and service good.
Baccara has more cuties than you can count. Upstairs and downstairs is all good, I only took one girl out (amazingly), but Ban was my best experience of the trip. An Energeizer Bunny personality who could not do enough to please her man.
