Well I'm back home.

Wow is all I can say.

I don't even know where to begin. I wanted to day by day reports, not sure though if anyone really cares to hear that much detail.

They are looking for a guy in flip-flops, shorts and a tank top. In big cities like Santo Domingo, and Santiago girls gravitate toward the locals and the way they dress. Those big cities don't have tourist traps so blending in is recommended.

But my friends were experiencing some similar reactions in Sosua.

In the end, nothing. He would not enforce anything and she would not refund anything.

At this point he showed me the number for the police, so I knew my bluff was over now.

I left there pissed to fuckin hell. Until I did the math.

So even though I was ripped off 2600RD (61 USD). I was really arguing about 1000RD (23 USD).

Hey, I've been ripped off more than that, and when I realized I was just arguing over 20 dollars. My mind rested somewhat.

And as far as my obligatory bad experience in Sosua, I can accept 60 dollars.

Dolce Secreto is the ONLY cabaña in Sosua so it was the girls only choice.

Most cabañas have gates and quite a few have the tire shredder things.

Don't expect the cabaña management to help in disputes, it just doesn't work that way, you are on your own.

You did the right thing by giving her the money and cutting your losses. Some guys on here will disagree but it was your first time in Sosua and you don't speak the language so you were at a disadvantage. Once you got undressed and in bed with her you were committed to paying her, very few guys would have gotten out of there without giving her any money and the cops will side with the girl every single time, the last thing you want to do is call the cops unless there is violence resulting in injury or major theft and you better be able to prove it.

No the cabana was further on into the establishment, don't think it was #1.

The door wasn't the bathroom door, it was the door where you exchange money / food etc. So understandably, it's locked from the outside as well.

Definitely agreed to BBJ. My spanish is minimal, but I clearly know how to say and understand some things. Every other chica clearly understood as well.

[/QUOTE]If Dolce Secreto is full and you have a car, there is also a cabana on the far side of Sabaneta on the main Highway 5 that is a bit closer than Puerto Plata. There is a also a place called the hotel Europa on the Highway 5 in Los Cangrejos, which is closer, but I have never been there. It doesn't have drive in parking, just a short stay hotel.
