Why are you so sure? Is it because you know what goes on there so you assume everyone else does as well? Before you had ever been there did you know what went on there or even that the place existed? There are many people who go certain places several times and have no idea what is right under their nose until they are introduced into certain circles. You have made it inside the circle. Don't be surprised that those who have never been in or near the circle don't know what goes on inside of it.
If there was a place like Sosua anywhere in my home country I sure as hell would know it existed and what went on there.

I concur
Did you read the part where I said that I don't expect everyone in the world to know what goes on in Sosua, but using logical reasoning you would expect one to at least have an idea if they live in DR? It's called logical reasoning. Do people living in the United States know what Vegas is all about? 99% of the population may not know everything that goes on there, but those who have heard about it and live in the United States will surely have some sort of an idea. Sosua is not a big city, it's main areas are concentrated on a couple key parts of the town. And those certain parts are well known for something. Sure, there was a point in time where I did not know about Sosua. But I am not a local. I researched it on my own.
But as an American, did I know the general idea about what goes on in cities like Vegas? Yes. And that's years before I ever visited. And Vegas is not a small city. While it's possible that a local does know everything that goes on in Sosua, it's logical to assume that a vast majority of the local population that has heard of the city of Sosua, has a general idea of what it it is known for. I have interacted with women on DC before, and when I tell them that I have visited Sosua before. They know what goes on there. I cannot think of one single time where a woman I've talked to who is a local living in Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Caberete, Punta Cana, etc. Or anywhere else. Has no idea what Sosua is about. So once again. It's certainly possible that not everyone living in DR knows what goes on there. But it's a logical assumption that a vast majority has a general idea.

See Mr. E's rebuttal
What I'm curious about is how a girl from DC comes to visit your in Sosua, and is offended by working girls sitting around in a hotel lobby. That just doesn't even make sense. It's SOSUA. I don't expect any person in the world to know what goes on in Sosua, but surely women in DR know why there are so many single travelers there.
Semi-pros or or most of the girls I have met on the DC dating site consider them selves a cut above the girls that work in the streets, Additionally there are girls on the DC dating site that are truly oblivious as to what goes on in Sosua, (see Mr. E's rebuttal) .

Where are these girls coming from? You are telling me you got women (be it a pro or a non-pro) to come out to some town named Sosua, for the first time. Or they visited previously but chose to conveniently avoid the main part of town. However it may be, but they trusted to come out and meet you and they have no idea what goes on in Sosua?
Or do you think it's plausible that these women you met do certainly think they're a cut above the rest, and are simply pretending to not know and be disgusted by the things they see? While I don't necessarily doubt your story, I am quite surprised. Quite surprised.

I have met quite a few, they are from all parts of the country including Puerto Plata. Many women ask if I've been to the DR before, I let them know yes plenty of times and I tell them where I've been. And that includes Sosua. And I have yet to meet a single woman who is from DR that does not know what Sosua is known for. Many say they go to Sosua for the beach, and it has a nice beach (compared to USA Beaches) that sees plenty of visitors from Europe, USA, Asia, and locals from DR. But people know what Sosua is known for, many also don't want to talk about it because they don't want their country to be known for that or a town to be judged for just that. Which is perfectly understandable. But once again. Sosua is not the size of Vegas, Amsterdam, Bangkok, Pattaya, Rio, Medellin etc. It's significantly smaller and locals know what their country is all about.

I agree with Puntz79. Any DR woman who tries to tell you she doesn't know what goes on in Sosua, is hoping you are stupid enough to believe her coy act. Just because a female has never been to Sosua or has never been a hoe, doesn't mean she doesn't know what is going on in her own country. Come on guys, nobody is that dumb!
Sosua. Day 2.
I left there pissed to fuckin hell. Until I did the math.
So even though I was ripped off 2600RD (61 USD). I was really arguing about 1000RD (23 USD).
Hey, I've been ripped off more than that, and when I realized I was just arguing over 20 dollars. My mind rested somewhat.
And as far as my obligatory bad experience in Sosua, I can accept 60 dollars.
Well, that's my ridiculous bad experience.
Ah the "Golden Rule" of mongering.
When you're in their surroundings or unfamiliar territory, and something goes wrong, immediately realize that you have made a bad judgement, or have been gamed.
Smile, cut your losses, pay the price, get out of there, and charge it up to experience. For the sake of a few bucks, you can avoid escalating the problem to who knows where, and you won't make enemies, who might try to get even with you.
The last time a chica tried to game me, I was in my friendly hotel surrounded by friendly staff, so I extended the drama a little bit, and she left without getting all she demanded. But that's a different situation entirely.
But thanks for a great post.

IMO there are all types of women in the DR on Dating sites, or social sites like Tagged or Badoo. Enough are non pros who work, or go to school, many others don't work. Some really want a serious relationship, enough dont. Either way, having never visited Sosua or not knowing how things work in Sosua, does not necessarily mean a woman is completely ignorant to the basics in terms of what Sosua is known for. I would not trust a womans claim or act of ignorance of not knowing anything about the basics of what Sosua is known for. But I would trust that she may have never been to Sosua. She gets no points just because she may have never been to Sosua. The point is, if she comes there to meet a foreigner, its clear enough that she is aware of what is going to go down. Sex and compensation on some level.
Also many of the women on dating sites may think they are a cut above the women in Sosua, however many arent much different. It's just that their technique and strategy for connecting with men and how they get compensated is different. Most dating site women are still agreeing to come to a mans hotel to have sex and eventually resulting in getting paid for their time. If things go well, they can establish a regular thing whenever he comes back. If she's fortunate to turn it into a WU hookup it's better for her.
I don't see the significance of determining whether the woman knows how things work in Sosua or she doesn't? The point is, she came to fuck a man (a foreigner and not a local) that she barely knows. A woman being offended by women hanging around at the mans hotel, is nothing more than competitive female jealously, and / or her putting on a performance of embarrassment in front of the man she came to see. I'm sure the goal of being compensated by her new cash cow trumps any concerns many of those women may have about their self image in relation to those women in Sosua. But the performance is necessary. When it is time to leave and go home, she may have to put on an even bigger academy award performance of feigning surprise when the man offers her money for her time, "err I mean for her children" "err I mean to pay her rent". And hoping she garners the right response in the man of feeling like he scored a good one because she refused or hesitated in taking his offering. However, soon to come is her being quite comfortable down the road of straight up asking for money, help, favors, gifts etc. But it usually starts off with feigned hesitation. And "Im different, Im not like those women in the street".
Meanwhile, these same women on dating websites are likely to continue talking to and meeting other men, and repeating the same scenario. Some women may indeed be content with working on one man and quit the dating site for a while, while a majority of other women enjoy juggling several men they connected with. You can best believe, the best acting in the world is going on with many women on dating sites, and the men playing down and trying not to draw too much attention to themselves of what they want from their hookups.
A woman doesn't have to know about Sosua or have visited Sosua. Prostitution is in the hearts and minds of women by nature. Being compensated for their sex comes natural to enough women. It doesnt matter where they practice at. Even men want to believe they are cut above other men when they connect with non pros vs straight up p4p chicas. But in the end, the man is the one conveniently and happily paying the majority of any expenses when dealing with or towards women in the DR. Its still p4p just looked at in a more dignified manner. Were all egoists in this game.

Surfs Up In Sosua Bay
Yesterday hit the waves at Playa Encuentro (Hideway Beach) and the waves where overhead but at 7 AM in the morning it was like being at Huntington Beach with multiple riders taking off on the better waves. Today was in Sosua Bay in the afternoon and there were overhead waves breaking and nobody was out there! I stayed out about an hour and caught some great waves with some nice faces and drops. Waves by day, snapper by night, all at your door step, I love this place!
