I can't imagine any man that has discovered this hobby putting up with western female bullshit. That's why I stay on the road.
Thinking of changing my handle to PoppaRollingStone.
So you assert that it is better to put up with foreign female bullshit? All women are foing to give you bs. It's just a matter of what kind you are willing to put up with.
So you assert that it is better to put up with foreign female bullshit? All women are foing to give you bs. It's just a matter of what kind you are willing to put up with.
The key is you're able to detach and hop on a plane and go to another life. In America the BS is there for everyday life and sometimes its not so easy to detach. I choose to not even fuck with chics in the States because its on the home turf and it usually turns into a competition for control of the relationship.
When I travel I'm just gone. Try to be gone with a girl in the States and the drama will start. When women in the States lose the upper hand then you have girls wanting payback. If its them bad mouthing you or fucking with your prized possessions.
I've been with a Thai girl for six years that won't go away because she doesn't want me being happy without her. So her goal is to be a pest and spoil my happiness. She drives by my place unannounced, calls and hangs up, and asks my neighbors of I have girls there. Guys traveling don't have this kind of BS to deal with, you just hop on a plane and its over. So I agree with the poster that says its better to travel and have fun then detach.
What does Chulo mean, or did you mean to say Culo?
Chulo means pimp, who could be her real dominican boyfriend, primo.....
Chulo means pimp, who could be her real dominican boyfriend, primo.....
Really, it does not mean "pimp". It means something like "darling" or "sweetheart". I live among respectable middle-class Dominicans, most of them religious, and they call each other "chulo" and "chula" all the time. When adults admire (or politely pretend to admire) their friends toddlers and babies in their pushchairs they will call them "chulo".
But the fact that gringos think it means "pimp" is a reflection on the nature of prostitution in the DR. Full-time pimping is not the norm here, although it does exist. Putas are nearly all self-employed. If they pass some or all of the money on to a man, it will usually be to their own boyfriend, or to a family member, to whom they are emotionally attached, which is why they are called "chulos" (their "sweethearts").
I fell off my chair laughing at that one.
Trouble is it doesn't translate well into Spanish, so the chica will not see the humor in it.
My response to the sob stories is just a simple sigh, "Esta la vie!
What makes you think anyone will understand a mixture of Spanish, French, Italian, and Creole?
If you want to say it in Haitian Creole, it would be "Sa se lavi", but if you want to say it in Spanish something like "asi es la vida" would get the job done better and people would understand you.
So I've gotten lucky 3 times so far.
I have a long list of situations like this, not to say dominicans haven't scammed me or tried. That has happened, but truly never with a working girl down here.
So the girls you deal with are probably hard core they have gotten hardened to their clients. Your comments are true of a small percentage of working girls in DR. Most working girls wouldn't classify themselves as Putas.
Anyway only my opinion, feel free to rip into my thoughts.
Nice to here about continued on going happiness in the DR.
If you want to say it in Haitian Creole, it would be "Sa se lavi",....
So, "Ca, see'est la vie" is transformed into "Sa se lavi" and it is now creole? Que chulo! How cool!

Dominican Cupid
Since I always have good luck on FC, I decided to join DC before my upcoming Sosua trip. I guess I'm just spoiled with the Filipinas because despite being able to read and write Spanish my results on DC could best be described as "crashed and burned". Looks like I'll have to pretty much settle for Rumba or hotel "skanks" as one forum member described them.

Try it one more time

Try going on-line and chatting with a few. I have had great luck with the ones between 25 and 29. If however your into sport fucking, don't waste your time on the DC Site. The "skanks" as I refer to them that pursue the Hotels and the girls on the Strip are perfect for short time sessions and can be good for long time sessions if you hit it off with them.

.
I thought chulo had two meanings. An adjective and a Noun.
1) You use for children and babies. Kinda of like looking at a baby and saying "She is so cute or precious! (Adjective).
2) For a pimp or hustler. If you call a man a chulo, your not calling them cute. (Noun).
I can't imagine any man that has discovered this hobby putting up with western female bullshit. That's why I stay on the road.
Thinking of changing my handle to PoppaRollingStone.
I think I understand what you are saying. You are saying having this hobby is a welcome relief and / or alternative to dealing with the type of female bullshit that is common with western women. So you travel frequently (stay on the road) to destinations where you can enjoy this hobby.
Ad-libbing here, if you encounter BS from foreign women, you are willing to take those risks. Foreign women are less likely to get half of your pension, get you kicked out of a house you are paying for, take your kids from you, get a portion of your 401 k,and more. The dating scene with western women has men at a disadvantage in terms of what it takes to get to the ultimate goal, which is to get laid.
Using the DR for example, in this hobby, guys are getting laid for less money with less hassle within less time than they would back home with their western women. Having said that, Mr E is also correct when he states "It's just a matter of what kind you are willing to put up with. ".
Most guys enjoying this hobby have discovered personally they would rather enjoy this hobby and tolerate the kind of BS they have experienced, than be some dude who got railroaded in a divorce through dealing with western women. Or some dude still playing the dating mating game of courtship and getting very little for his efforts. Moreover, merely listening to or exposing oneself to women trying to run game but not really getting anywhere, I dont consider that putting up with BS. Nobody can run from BS, or risk or gambling. It's everywhere. Were taking risks even when we arent aware we are doing it. The idea is to keep BS in it's place or at least be aware of it, without it becoming a burden or an imposition on your life or peace of mind. With anything there may be setbacks or disapointments. Maybe some regrets. But what was the cost? Did you lose your house, pension? Or did you lose 6k pesos,a cell phone, your tablet, some jewelry, cologne? Practicing prostitution with the consent of law enforcement right in front of you??? I'd say dealing with foreign women's BS in comparison to western women, is worth the risk.
BTW one of my other regulars from San Pedro who has been talking about coming for my next trip just informed me that she needs to go to the dentist because her teeth hurt. This info came from me simply asking "Como esta". They love when you ask lead in questions so they can start telling you about some problem.
Now I suppose if I were to agree for her to come, she will try to get me to give her money for the dentist. The per diem rate for her "job" in San Pedro, and whatever I would consider giving her upon her departure. She doesn't know this, but I have no interest in allowing her to come, subjecting myself to a bunch of expenses. That doesn't even include what I would have to pay to feed her, and whatever she tries to buy from the supermercado.
On the flip side. In the states, I'm sure I paid more when dealing with a chick there and didn't get nearly the same amount of enjoyment as I would with a chica from the DR. It's just that ,I know I can get a better deal close to my spot ( in the DR ) without depending on someone to come from San Pedro ( with a laundry list of expenses.) The expenses I know about, and the ones I will find out about after being with her for a few days.
You use {chulo} for children and babies. Kinda of like looking at a baby and saying "She is so cute or precious!"
Exactly so.
For a pimp or hustler. If you call a man a chulo, your not calling them cute.

I live among respectable middle-class Dominicans, most of them religious, and they call each other "chulo" and "chula" all the time.
So all the veterinarians, "old money" landowners, and Jehovah's Witnesses, etc, in our apartment block are really hustling putas on the side? I don't think so!
Obviously it depends on the context. If a puta's "chulo" is accepting money from her activities then you could call him a pimp. But if it was her mother accepting the money, as in a widely reported case last week, it doesn't mean that "madre" means "pimp".
And what about someone like Peter at Passions? He was a full-time pimp, but he was only a "chulo" to his wife. I have never heard him referred to as a "chulo" by anyone else.
I bet it is used a hundred times with my meaning for every once with yours.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
My next rant will be directed at those who think "chica" means "prostitute". If you look back over the posts there have been quite a few.
