Medellin Reports
Dollar has taken a 10% beat down in the last couple of months. The places close to Parque Lleras are offering a high of cop2770 and a low of cop2700. What are the places at the mall offering?

Yeah, yeah, I know. I could the xyz credit card and use and ATM. Blah, blah, blah. I have my reasons for not wanting to do that.
I am getting 2,975 through the ATM. Right now in Poblado. I guess your reasons are good enough to accept a lower rate which will most likely always be the case in casas the cambio.

Does anyone know the name of the establishment? There are two apartments in Hotel LLeras definitely with chicas working. I am staying at the hotel with the novia and will not partake, but was curious. Have run a search on forum but cannot find anything. Both apartments are on the second floor.

I was going to play, called the club El Rodeo and they said come on. In fact I called them from the States. We ended up not playing, but it seems they welcome foreigners.
Thanks for your post. Are you a member at Campestre? If not, do you have to have a member invite you to go? I'd love to play some golf and tennis while on vacation in MDE. I had a non-pro Paisa invite me to Campestre with her once, but she wasn't so hot, so I didn't take her up on it.

What's the deal with the Hotel there? If you stay there, can you use their facilities?

Thanks in advance. I've dabbled a bit in non-pro action in MDE. It can be done if you have time on the ground and get outside of Poblado (and speak Spanish). However, given that my trips are generally two weeks or less, the pro route usually makes more sense.
http://www.clubelrodeo.co/
Wow, that's great news. I'm down there for a couple weeks in December and I'd love to get a few rounds in. It's very conveniently located also.

It's my first time to Medellin. I was lucky enough to go to the futbol game yesterday. Today I just wandering around. Riding the metro and some cable cars. I got off the train near the stadium and visited Energy Spa. Easy system, they had about 8 nice ladies. Damage was about 140 k for a hour with massage and all the extras. Thanks to the folks of this forum for the good reports and information.

Does anyone have anything to report about a place called. Thai Spa? What about another spot called Jade Place near Parque Lleras? Thanks in advance for any info to be had.
The reality is that 5 years ago Colombia welcomed the gringo. A gringo can and is any white skinned man be it Australian, European, Israeli, US guy or from where ever basically. Today the perception HAS completely changed. Gringos only come to fuck the Colombians on sex tours and drug addicts on drug binges.

It's sad but true. The perception is in fact in the process of shifting from single gringos being welcomed to Colombia to stay away you sex and drug addicted gringos.

This is just the start and the tip, it will get worse. I have my ears to the ground and have been watching this is like seeing a train wreck in the process.

So if your traveling to Colombia, any city be it MDE or Bogota or Cali or CTG, and your traveling alone or with another man (not a family) it is assumed now that your on a sex and or drug tourist vacation. This is especially true if your over 40 years of age.

Stay low and stay clear of drama and don't promote sex and drug tourism like these others have done. Big egos gets these boys into serious trouble and have any of you seen the inside of the overcrowded filthy Colombian prisons. It takes 4 years plus just to get to trial if you can live that long.

TTM.
Incorrect. They call anyone from the western world, with a western accent a gringo. It is not regulated to whites.

I have a FB friend who posted a while back that she has an apartment in Poblado. I think she is getting a group of chicas to work with her. Maybe she is working there.
Incorrect. They call anyone from the western world, with a western accent a gringo. It is not regulated to whites.
I disagree with because of personal experience, every time I travel to a Latin American country I get the total opposite effect including Colombia. I am a technically a "gringo" since I was born in US soil and lived practically my whole life in the US, and I spend money like a gringo and live like one but since I am not a a typical tall Caucasian guy or black, and I am a short brown skinned Mexican American I do not get that stereotype, if anything whenever I go to Colombia and they ask me where I am from, if I tell them I am American they mostly make fun of me or think I am trying to "pretend" to be American, usually I get a funny response from Colombians like "si tu eres gringo entonces yo soy aleman jajajja" (If your a gringo then I am a German). So no, based on my personal experience I actually feel the gringo stereotype is exclusively for the white man.
Incorrect. They call anyone from the western world, with a western accent a gringo. It is not regulated to whites.
Perhaps someone with experience can respond. Do they call African Americans gringos? If they do I'll be very surprised.

Yes, that long winded post was incorrect about that and several other things. Colombia has a very active international business sector, especially in the larger cities. Traveling alone or in a group of men does not necessarily raise a red flag. The normal immigration question you get when you tell them you are traveling on business is "what company are you with"? It's a standard security screen to see if you hesitate or can't come up with an answer. The investigation would begin at that point. What was correct about the original post were the points about promoting drugs or sex trade. It's unwise and risky to do it. For anyone who is inexperienced or nervous, you don't need to worry about immigration or day to day problems during your trip if (1) you are prepared with any reasonable explanation for your visit (e. G. Museums, study Spanish, business, whatever), and (2) you don't pimp, deal or smuggle drugs, or mess with white powdery things. It also helps to avoid public intoxication and obnoxious behavior if you can.
Perhaps someone with experience can respond. Do they call African Americans gringos? If they do I'll be very surprised.
Yes. I am Black American. My girl from Venezuela visited me in the States a couple of weeks ago and was telling my mother the origin of gringo which I looked up while still driving and there was no hint of that origin. But she said it stemmed from US military being in Central and South America with their green uniforms and the people shouting "Green Go" at them because they wanted them out of their countries. But my Brazilian friends call me gringo as well. It has nothing to do with color; because if you think about it, those countries are made of all shades of people too. So it is more about where you are from, and not the color of your skin.
Does anyone have anything to report about a place called. Thai Spa? What about another spot called Jade Place near Parque Lleras? Thanks in advance for any info to be had.
I tried Thai Spa. Its tucked away in a residential area and is clean and nice. The selection was kinda small. I lucked out and pulled a girl who was there on her first day. She did everything I asked. I totally enjoyed her. Its priced more like Energy but does not have the same talent. Its worth a try, but you may be out cab fare if you don't see something you like.
