While you are dead right that it isn't worth it to get killed for a few hundred baht, at the same time, you are paying these girls for a performance, and it they are reneging on their deal, well, it is far and away best to throw them straight out of the room immediately. It's funny, several years ago I had girls that I had this problem with, these days, when I get the girl who doesn't want to perform, I let her know in Thai that I know exactly what she is up to. And you know what is funny, in 90% of any of these rare cases, the girl has completely known that she is dead wrong, and has just gotten dressed and left, without even asking me for taxi money! The main rule of thumb is that you have to pay a few baht when kicking a girl out (the less the better, of course). Even if she's at fault, a token payment closes the transaction for both parties, and prevents any trouble down the line. It's not fair, but it's insurance. Of course, cheating does not warrant a full payment and asatOldian said, the earlier you call them on it and kick them out, the better.
While it's unlikely Thai freelancers have police or a proper goon-squad on call, most of them do have lowlife Thai boyfriends, often drug addicts or motorcycle drivers, who are occasionally glad to prove themselves by whacking a white whale (I. E. One of us) on any pretext, and a GF being (allegedly) cheated out of money is a good one.
My rule of thumb is that once you're in the room, cancellation fee is 100 baht (on 500 baht going rate) or 200 baht (on higher service rate) , as long as no penetration took place, no matter who's at fault. Once your dick is inside her, even briefly, things change a bit, and half of the fare is OK if she starts to be bad soon after that.
