Whenever I use any BCA ATM the options that pop up on the screen are smaller amounts. I can't remember exactly as I mostly use BNI but I think the options were like 300 k 500 k 800 k and 1 M and at the bottom left other amount and bottom right other transactions or something like that.

If that was just a typo, then what I posted stands but it doesn't surprise me that girls made accomodations for a foreigner who isn't a native speaker. Also, there are always exceptions to every rule. While I wouldn't describe someone's kid as small and skinny, calling them a little cutie is perfectly acceptable.

Gabacho.[/QUOTE]I'm wondering if this is why all the confusion over ATM limits. The 2. 5/1. 25 million limits are ubiquitous across the country. There are literally thousands of machines everywhere that dispense these amounts. Sure there are some ATMs that have higher or lower limits but these need to be searched out. They aren't the standard. Most of the machines have the max withdrawal as an 'other amount' so another screen does need to be selected. Perhaps this is why you thought so many ATMs had lower limits.

Gabacho.[/QUOTE]I once pressed "other amount" at of the downstairs ATMs at Plaza Indonesia and keyed in 3 million. The ATM hung and never gave out any money. I was relieved my card wasn't swallowed. Luckily too, no amount got deducted from my bank account. Since then I avoid the "other amount" option like the plague.

Hello Everyone.

Finally posting again after a long trip report hiatus.

I finally made the leap to Asia thanks to my good friend Gabacho.

For those that don't know, Gabacho is the one who guided me through Medellin back in 2021.

We have been in touch ever since and I can call him a true friend.

Asia was always on my radar but due to the long flight from LA it was always an excuse not to go.

So after texting daily with Gabacho since 2021 I finally took the opportunity to go to Jakarta.

To my luck, Gabacho was in Jakarta at the same time that I was available to go so it was a win win.

I stayed in the same hotel and we even got rooms across from one another LOL.

From the moment I landed, Gabacho guided me throughout the way.

We went to Classic T2 around 2 pm after I landed at around 11 am.

Due to the jet lag, I was unable to session that same day.

The next day we went to T5 and Gabacho went with a girl within 5 minutes of arriving LOL.

I decided to pop my classic cherry and went with a girl that caught my eye.

The girl was very friendly and welcoming. Raw oral and asked if I wanted a rubber.

Throughout my two plus weeks in Jakarta I created an alternating routine.

One day I would frequent T2 and the next I would frequent T5.

I personally prefer the layout of T5 where the girls are in two stages.

T2 and it's 5 stages was a bit overwhelming for me due to my social anxiety.

Long story short, I had a great time in Jakarta!

I only went to Classic and had a great time with my alternating routine.

I seasoned with about 14 girls switching between T2 and T5.

Of the 14,12 of them gave great service and I would gladly repeat.

Only two girls in T2 gave me subpar service.

One girl rushed me after about 25 minutes.

The other claimed I was too big which I know is a lie LOL.

Personally, I prefer the layout of T5 but feel that T2 has prettier girls.

During my trip, Gabacho and I frequented different places to eat.

Due to eating carnivore, I made it a priority to eat at all you can eat places.

We found Sakabe in Pasar Baru which Gabacho already mentioned.

We also found Deuseyo also which is also in Pasar Baru.

Finally we found FoGo at Grand Indonesia and Central Park Malls.

I couldn't believe the price of FoGo Brazilian barbecue.

200 k rupiah or about $12.5 USD for all you can eat 90 minutes.

In the USA it's $71 USD so this is a big steal.

In all, I had a great time in Jakarta and would gladly recommend.

Be wary of your surroundings. I admit I got too comfortable and was almost robbed.

After leaving classic one night, I decided to send video messages to Gabacho.

I was using my iPhone 14 out in the street and made myself a target.

One night at 1 am as I was using my phone a moto approached.

Before I could process what happened, two guys in a moto appeared.

One guy grabbed my phone as the other attempted to speed off.

I was able to wrestle the phone away from them as it launched 20 feet in the air.

The moto sped off and high on adrenaline I yelled at the would be robbers.

This caused the locals around me to look concerned.

For those that don't know, I was robbed of my iPhone in Medellin in 2022.

I also got too comfortable so I obviously have a lot to learn.

Thanks for your report and glad you had a nice time. I agree with you about Classic 5. Still enough of a choice of ladies there, but a little less crowded and laid back than Classic 2 and a nice couch setup.

Re: iPhone robbery attempt. While Jakarta is mostly safe, this example is one of the most common crimes of opportunity I see. I have been warned / reminded by numerous good samaritans, blue parking shirt guys and people walking by about this. Guys on Ojeks don't just target foreigners. It is anybody they can snatch a free phone from. I've witnessed several failed and successful attempts over the years as well.

If you have your phone on the street, definitely be sure to turn around and face the opposite direction from the street or be sure to take a few steps back from the street where you and your phone is out of reach.

A real risk of you were juggling several cards from home and abroad.

Many guys have also lost or walked away from their cards because ATMs dispense the cash then the card. They are often more familiar with the card being dispensed first so just grab the cash and walk off, forgetting to wait for their card.

Even I enjoyed the girls from T2. They were cooperative. Mamasans though were little bit aggressive. But that's what their job demands.

I too noticed that food outlets in Jakarta were reasonably priced, for example Steak (Joni Steak at Pasar Baru) and Japanese (I don't recall the name) places. In Bali, I enjoyed a buffet at an Aussie-Brazilian All you can eat BBQ place.

Finally, the phone snatching attempt was a scary part in your report. Well such things can happen anywhere in the world. I generally found Thailand and Indonesia relatively safe. At times, I think about getting a phone cover with a strap attached to it so that it will remain around the neck while you walk around. However, how much safe that would be, if professional phone snatchers are targeting phones of tourists like us?

[/QUOTE]That's the worse thing to happen to a tourist (who is also into Mongering). Imagine it is happening on the initial days of your trip and your bank that issued the pertinent card do not have any local presence to support you. Very scary and discouraging effects on the fun dreamt trip.

Some banks dispense the card first and then cash, and others dispense the cash followed by card. But forgetting to wait for the card is bit too hasty from their part. Always take your time to ensure the card is taken and the cash is withdrawn too.

"Other Amount" at ATM? THAT IS HOW YOU RECEIVE 2500000 RUPIAH. If you never hit other amount, you will always walk away with 1250000.

FRAUD: Do not bring your Navy Federal credit card. They will always by default attempt to send your new card thru regular mail.

If you continue to use your credit card at fuck-places, in time, you will have fraudulent charges. What do you do?

1. You immediately go to the ATM and withdraw a weeks worth of living expenses.

2. you report the fraud; and demand DHL or FEDEXPRESS 3-day delivery.

Don't forget your card in the ATM, that would be stupid. Get yourself a sleeve; use your hotel door card sleeve; and hold the empty sleeve in front of the ATM until the ATMA card goes back in the sleeve. Plantsmoke, the ultimate giver on this thread.
