I think many of you exagerate the realities in order to justify your existance on this forum. A lot of crap is put out on ISG and I think in comes from those who just don't know how to assimilate in foriegn country.

Most of us know that we have much to learn. We don't want a Tuk Tuk driver to take us to a rip-off place like Vilunda/Oscar/Angara or Cupidy or J One with large kick backs paid to the driver. We want a better priced place with nice pretty girls usually aged 18 to 25 (or maybe to 30).

I've been to Bangkok and all through Thailand about 8 times for anywhere from 20 days to 60 days at a time, and I still don't know everything about Bangkok. You did it from a tuk-tuk driver (he must have spoke perfect English, because WE know YOU don't speak Thai at all).

What particular advice did you get that you think is overrated? What information did you get that you thought was exxagerated?

The missing detail is the soapy cost 3000B (750B kick back for the Tuk Tuk driver).

They also went shopping, and the Tuk Tuk driver took him to see this "hidden" gem dealer and he got some very cheap ruby and emeralds for only a few thousand dollars (Tuk Tuk driver kick back a good few hundred dollars).

They went shopping in PatPong and the Tuk Tuk driver got him lots of super savings (so much so the Tuk Tuk driver went back later to collect commissions from the stall owners).

If you want to write shit, then at least start with some facts that people might believe. Like. The Tuk Tuk driver took me all around Bangkok what I wanted to see, it took 6 hours due to the traffic, and the cheeky git wanted 1000B but I got him down to 800B. Etc. LOL

Even at 50 baht PH got robbed, I had a Tuk Tuk driver offering a shopping trip for 20 baht after starting at 40. Not that I wanted to go shopping in the first place just thought it was funny how low they will go to get your business.
