Hello brothers!

I will be visiting Nicaragua in 6 months w/ my best friend who is from there and has been living in Miami 10 years. He just built a house (bachelor pad) over there and his brother manages a hotel. I know I will be having fun (2 weeks) but any suggestions to enhance the experience will be appreciated.

You might start by reading the generously provided and information packed posts. Yes it involves effort but give it a try. Some of us are tired of these aimless questions without an attempt to at least read and then ask specific questions, in a lot of these forums.

What you should do:

1. Dress Casual (like jeans and Polo Shirts)
2. Bath Daily
3. Wear deodorant and if possible cologne
4. Get the address of the hotel where you’re stay
5. Don’t be alone at places in suburbs
6. Don’t insult or think the locals are ignorant people. In certain places you could be speaking about somebody that understands very well the language.
7. Ask about the local rules regarding sex engagement, like for example the minimum age for having sex or if prostitution is legal. You don’t want to go to jail in one of these countries.

You should avoid:
1. Dresses like you are in the middle of a Jungle or War.
2. Be in company with arrogant people or problematic people
3. Be too loud
4. Treat the local people like inferior.

I wouldn’t comment on the Mr DOG post regarding myself, because I think he’s the kind of American that would prefer that Rosa Parks or Martin Luther King Jr. never existed.

Managua is not really a city but a big town. The people are very friendly and would treat you very well.

Don’t make stupid comments if you see Horses on the streets because is common here.

The Girls looks fine but are about average if you compare them to Costa Rica or Panama.
