Still had fun. But they have an interesting scam there.

You pay for the drinks and they bring your change in a box. Included in your change is coins that are easily missed inside this box the way they deliver it back to you.

I miss the coins the first time and did not say anything. My fault and also my mind not being that keen because of all the pussy and alcohol.

The second time I missed the coins and asked where the rest of my change was.

That time I saw how the box can conceal the coins where if you are a little drunk or not paying attention you will not see them.

Not really a big deal but just a way for them to get bigger tips.

Other then that I was giving the waitress too much money to pay for a bill.

I accidently gave a 500 instead of a 50 baht bill.

The waitress did tell me I over paid on that and return the over payment.

I'm making my second visit to Phuket soon and could use some advice. I usually hang out in Bangkok but need help with Phuket. Two years ago on holiday I stayed at a hotel on Bangla right across from a party soi and had a great time except for the nightly THB 1000 joiner fee.

This time I'm at the Sheraton Grande in Laguna on a working trip with several non playing colleagues and I need to be discreet.

I scoured this board but couldn't find much info. It would be great if someone who has stayed and played at the Sheraton can help.

I understand there is no joiner fee at the Sheraton? Is this true? Booking a room for 2 would cost me THB 1000 more a night than my single.

Is it possible to sneak a girl into the room discreetly? Is the only entrance the main one near the lobby? The hotel looks open and spread out. Will the bell boys at the entrance or hotel security shake me down for a fee?

I’m thinking my best option might be to forget playing at the Sheraton and just do short time in Patong at night and trust the girl’s choice of short time room. Or even get one of the less expensive hotel rooms talked about in here. But the Sheraton has nice rooms and a great bed.

Any advice would really be appreciated. PM is OK.

I was in both last night and had a ball. Both had a good selection off girls.

Pablo, you are wise to ask the veterans on this board. My advise is to take the 1000baht for an extra person, and book a room on the second road. Next, rent a motorbike for 200baht per day to save on the terrible tuktuk prices. This way you can avoid all the travel required by bringing a girl back to Laguna (at best a frantic 30 minute ride). Set up shop in patong, leave your valuables back at the Sheraton and have the freedom to dump a bad performer and reload if you choose incorrectly. You control the short time room and chances for problems. Just avoiding the chance of being caught by your colleagues would make this plan worth it to me.

Thanks Westside, I think I'm going to take your advice. Too risky to try to bring girls into the Sheraton. It would suck if the wrong co-worker [like some fat old cow] saw me sneaking in with a hot young go go dancer!

I'm not doing a motorbike at night on roads I don't know because I'm going to drink.

So are tuk tuks the only option late after midnight to get back to a Laguna hotel from Patong? If so, what's the going rate?

I have just got back from Phuket. I need a bit of time to take it all in before writing my report. My head is still spinning. If you would like to know something I would be happy to answer any questions. I had a really good time. I have never been to Pattaya so cannot compare the two. I understand Phuket is more expensive. I think that if you are patient you can find some real gems. It was an experience I will never forget. l will also be better prepared for the next trip.
