OK guys, I recently went on a quick trip to Romania. I saw a lot of the Transylvania, as well as Bucharest. I never stayed in any one place for very long. In fact, I was only in Bucharest for two days not nearly enough to speak comprehensively or with authority on anything. But because there are hardly any trip reports for Romania on the forum, I figured that my thoughts would be of at least some value. So here we go.

Is there a punting scene? Yes, but its not mass appeal. Unless you are willing to meet up with streetwalkers, it's mixed up in escort services. That being said, there are many erotic massage places. In Sibiu, there is a place called Good Life massage. It's a 10 minute walk west from the main square. Only two masseuses, but luckily, one was attractive. A totally nothing massage, but a passable erotic segment. Very mediocre, but I think it's the only game in town. Check it out if you are really in the mood for an erotic massage, but you won't have missed anything if you skip it.

In Bucharest, the two venues with ISG trip report recommendations were Confidential Salon and Artemis Salon. I had to choose, and it was coin flip. I wanted to walk by the Parliament building, and Artemis was in that area, so I headed there after taking some pictures.

Oh, and BTW, the Marriot Hotel is adjacent to the Parliament building, but it was a far walk. But I walked there to check it out, just for you guys. The Marriott is often mentioned in passing as a place with a hooker bar. The Marriot is a big, oversized building. It reminded me of a Vegas hotel-casino. I was there at about 7:30 pm, about sunset. There is a lobby bar on the first floor to the right, but nobody was there. I saw no ladies hanging out. There is an "Executive Club" on the 8th floor. Not sure what is there, but it must be what people are talking about. You can't access that area unless you are a hotel guest. I was expecting some kind of rooftop bar overlooking the Parliament, but there is no such thing. So in sum, if you want to partake here, realize that you have to stay here. And its pretty far from everything else, with no Metro station, and just a bunch of cabbies eager to rip you off. Unless its some sort of secret back door society up on the 8th floor, it didn't look promising to me. You've been warned.

Artemis is about a 15 minute walk from the Marriott, the address is on the website. You can also take the Metro there take the Eroilor stop, which is about a 5 minute walk. The address is Costache Negri 18 A. And write down that address, because the building is unmarked, with no sign or anything. The mailbox is marked in handwriting "Artemis masaj. " You could easily walk by it.

The massage part of it was surprisingly good- a genuine massage. With of course, the erotic part, which was VERY erotic. Some of the masseuses were attractive, some not. But the only one that matters is the one you choose. Well worth the relatively modest price. If I had more time, would easily come here again. But if I had another day, I would have checked out Confidential. Confidential is also near a Metro station, the Aviatorilor station.

Both these places made very clear up front that sex is not on the menu. So if you are dead set on punting, Romania is not a first choice place. Many of the working girls here have wised up and taken advantage of the Eurozone, thus plying their trade in Germany and other countries visa free. But Romania is great from a general tourism standpoint. So if you are here anyway, there is at least some fun to be had, and more if you are inclined to put in a lot of work and trial and error.
