My colleague also had some $$ stolen from his room when he carelessly left the safe open and then the hotel falsely accused him of having women in his room who may have stolen it. I generally don't like that area much because there isn't anything when you step out. Makati is bustling.

I prefer the shang in makati now. It is also another tired hotel, but a bit better in terms of girl friendliness and service. More expensive too. You can get a large suite in dusit real cheap.

The next level in terms of expense are fairmont, Raffles etc which are in the vicinity. Haven't tried them though. Happy with the Shang for the last few trips. Was there in June, back in November.

The working girls are used to getting asked, and generally will only appear to be offended if they are a LB.
