I heard in the news that since the king's death, we should all wear black. Is that true?
No. Black short could be appreciated but not a must to do, especially for tourists.
All you need to wear is the black bow ribbon, even Thai people. Thai are to continue wearing black until Jan 1. Thai are not allowed to criticize tourists.
You actually do not need to wear anything. Specifically when you have a Thai office girl as a GF. So I placed my order already for next trip as I do not wear black that often. Just a matter of letting the GF feel comfortable. Behind closed curtains is a different world.

Then, and on all my previous visits, fully shaved or a small landing strip was the norm but now many of the girls I have had the pleasure of have had quite a growth!
Could it be anything to do with mourning the late King?
Hotman.
Depends on what was written in the will.
Come on. Be serious!

Nobody is coming up to you patting you on the back if you have black on. Thais only expect you to respect their culture. They do not expect you to emulate it. Besides whenever a foreigner thinks he is doing something right, he is always doing something wrong. Giving the improper wai; wearing an even number of Buddha amulets when it is supposed to be an odd number. Keep it simple and leave their traditions to them in order to not make yourself look ridiculous. Nobody notices when you do nothing. Everybody notices when you are fucking up.
Visited the new gogo club Pheromones on Walking Street again last night. Place was packed with pretty good reason. The lineup is quite decent. Really bad part about this bar is the pure hustle for drinks. The girls must be told to drink their drinks faster than the speed of light. No other bar on Walking Street or LK Metro have girls who down their drinks like at this club. I think #84 was with me for less than 3 minutes after I bought her a drink. Didn't even say bye before she moved on to the next guy. At 200 baht per lady drink as well makes this club a total rip off imo. I will return but my return will be to just walk up to a girl, talk to her, and barfine her if I like her enough. No drinks. May do that with #28 this week.
Regarding the wear of black clothing for tourists, here directly from the source:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/asia/thailand/articles/tourists-dont-have-to-wear-black-on-the-beach-thailand-is-open-for-tourism/
The TAT itself is saying that tourists do not have to wear black, but non flamboyant clothing. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but what tourists have always worn will be fine I'm sure (jeans, slacks, t-shirts, etc.).
But remember, this was a month ago.
Thai civil servants are to wear black for a year, while regular Thai's are to wear black for a month.
Again, this was a month ago, so even regular Thai's no longer have to wear black. So no need to wear black for any of us tourists at all, even as a 'noble' gesture since it wouldn't even apply to regular Thai's.

Or is it in your opinion well done to wear a bright yellow pants with light green polo when your GF wear black? If so, you have a different type of GF than I have. So it be, but do not say "wrong again".
I finally pick a girl at Horny Bar ...
... I bought her a drink and upstairs we soon went. Standard Soi 6 300/1000.
Great reporting, I just read back 10 pages and saw all your reports. I just want to comment on this though. I have not been in a lot of the bars in Soi 6 but from the ones I have been I know that some charges 350 for the room and not 300, like Horny Bar that you are mentioning. I know that something like nine bars including Horny Bar are operated by the same owner and they all charge 350 for the room.
The ones I have been to which have the same owner are Night Wish, Sexy in the City, The Pussy Club and the one that you mention above, Horny Bar and it's the same price in all of them, 350. To barfine a girl before 9 PM is 1000 Baht and after 9 PM is 550 in these clubs. I have been to three other clubs in Soi 6 except these mentioned above and I believe I paid 300 in those clubs for the room.
I will be visiting a friend in Rayong soon. Are there any good bars down there? I'm hoping so since I really like the Rayong girls I have met. Rates cheaper than Pattaya?
My apologies since Rayong is not Pattaya but it's fairly close.

Pattaya is the center of cheap nightlife. And as the offer is so huge and the market still works, prices are lowest. With exception of cheap Thai style fucks which last usually not more as 10 minutes somewhere in a hidden shack, prices are higher anywhere as in Pattaya.
