France is dying on the vine
Lying, Trump was elected twice for president of USA. When I'm 100% French since generations, I much prefer to live in France where better foods, better quality and freedom. Majority of Americans don t seem to be happy about Trump.
France economy has tanked and USA economy is booming. You are right about one thing: Trump was elected twice so obviously popular. I am glad you prefer to live in France. That is where you belong.

So you've got nothing. As expected.
Using your bogus reasoning, you should believe Truman started the Vietnam War. He deployed the Military Assistance Advisory Group (MAAG) to Vietnam. Eisenhower increased the number of MAAG advisors, but when he left office there were only about 900 American military in Vietnam.
Would Eisenhower have gone to war with Vietnam, like LBJ did? Why on God's Green Earth do you think he would, when he wouldn't intervene when France (Sirioja's country) got its ass kicked at Dien Bien Phu? Eisenhower didn't expand the Korean War. He got the USA out of it. Remember his farewell address. It was a lot like that of another USA General-turned-president, George Washington. Eisenhower warned the country about succumbing to the military-industrial complex. Washington and Eisenhower both led men into war, and witnessed the carnage first hand. Neither would have approved of a half million man military force halfway across the world in tiny Vietnam.
Everyone who knows his head from his ass agrees Volcker and the other members of the FOMC should receive most of the credit for stamping out high inflation. Reagan also gets credit for backing Volcker publicly. He didn't replace him or pressure him into reversing course during the recession preceding the 1982 election.
Carter's case is more complicated. Yes, Carter deserves kudos for firing G. William Miller, arguably the worst Fed chairman in history. Miller's primary goal as chairman was to ensure a Democratic victory in the 1980 elections. As a result, he prioritized maintaining employment growth and avoiding recession over good sense. He wasn't particularly suited for the job by experience or education. Carter would have known that appointing Volcker when he did would hurt Democrats' chances in the election. Volcker was an inflation hawk who Carter knew would raise interest rates above the inflation rate and keep them there long enough to bring it down, regardless of the effect on employment and the GDP.
However, Carter also appointed Miller as Fed Chairman. How much credit can you give to the guy who poured gasoline on the fire (with the appointment of Miller) because he helped put it out later? Definitely not as much as Reagan.
The USA has sent aid to allies during wars in which we were not directly involved many, many times and no historian worth a damn has ever claimed that means the USA "started" those wars.
Truman didn't replace the defeated and retreating French Military with USA Military in 1954, a year before most historians consider the start of the Eisenhower's Vietnam War.
Eisenhower did.
No president had benefitted more from and more fully utilized the "military-industral complex" than Dwight Eisenhower. He was not only employed by it all through his military career with no other notable line of work in his life but also spent at least 7 of his 8 years in office building it up to ready for his War in Vietnam. Hell, even his green light to go ahead with FDR's planned Interstate Highway construction had to be framed as a "Military Defense" project rather than a economic benefit for him to be interested in it at all.
Eisenhower's warning against others succumbing to the lure of a "military-industrial complex" on his way out the door is no different in disingenuous Repub hypocrisy than when lifelong oil industry nepo baby GW Bush admonished America for being "addicted to oil" on his way out the door.
So you can't think of a single "tool" you totally agreed with Elvis about that Repub Ronnie Reagan could possibly have given Carter's Fed appointee Paul Volcker in late 1979, at least a year before Reagan was elected president, that could possibly have started the steady month over month decline in the rate of inflation beginning in early 1980, at least a year before Reagan took office. Why doesn't that surprise me? LOL.
Did you know Reagan's famous "Morning in America" campaign slogan and ads for his 2nd term were exclusively about how great he was for lowering the rate of inflation that he had absolutely nothing to do with lowering or shouldering all the heavy lifting or taking any of the political risk in election year 1980 to accomplish? I mean, other than him lowering it the way Repubs usually lower it; by crashing the economy, plunging America into still another Great Depression or Great Recession, wiping out millions of jobs or skyrocketing the unemployment rate into double-digits month after month, which Reagan's policies certainly did in his 2nd and 3rd year in office:

As a Repub, what else could he have possibly touted as a positive contribution to the USA economy over the previous 4 years other than something the Dem president before him had already accomplished? Nobody but him benefitted much from all those pony rides he took during his those previous 4 years like Trump on his failed golf resort courses. Not even his pony.
Well, he did try to take credit for the Boomer Generation coming to peak age participation in the labor force in that ad. Lolol. You would have thought with all the Boomers reaching age 16 and older during the Reagan years that his average annual jobs creation record would have been greater than, you know, Carter's or some other approximately Dem president rather than being dwarfed by them. But it wasn't. That's how much crap the Repubs' favorite Supply-Side / Trickle-Down economic agenda and policy results are.

Really? Based on what data and evidence?
If this is the great depression now in USA please give me 20 more years of this. Job numbers soared in May and USA economy is the strongest in the world. The A. I. Overview:
How does Trump's cost-of-living approval compare to Biden?
AI Generated by USA TODAY
According to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, only 22% of Americans approve of President Donald Trump s handling of the high cost of living. This represents a lower approval rating than that of his predecessor, former President Joe Biden, who finished his term with a 29% approval rating on the same issue.
The decline in approval is largely attributed to rising food and gas prices, which many voters link to the ongoing Iran war. Additionally, recent CNN polling indicates that 77% of Americans believe Donald Trump s policies have actively increased the cost of living in their local communities. While approval on specific economic issues has dipped, overall job approval for the president remains steady at approximately 35% to 40% across various aggregators.
Oh, and the majority of gains seen in the USA Stock Market as measured by the Dow and S&P 500 Indexes happened under Biden, not Trump. Trump's most notably contribution to it were those (so far) two deep plunges that occurred in response to his major economic and national security decisions.

Hasn't eaten at El Gaucho Steakhouse!
True SubCmdr, Bangkok isn’t cheap. But it does have hot and cold running women!

This is not a Trump golf scorecard.
If you were a really smart businessman, why did you waste time going to the polls when you could have spent it making money? You realize your vote was not going to determine who won?
Sorry, you can't go back and cheat on the scorecard the way Trump does at his always failing golf resorts.
Had Canada been eligible to vote in the USA elections just since 2016, by not voting for Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, your and Elvis' and his business sense (would have) voted FOR Trillions and Trillions added to the deficit in a couple of pieces of legislation with zero to show for it other than millions fewer private-sector jobs created after spending it than before spending it, record high American farm bankruptcies with Billions more added to the dedicit in Trump Voter Emergency Welfare Checks sent to the Agricultural Industry just to keep it afloat thanks to his failed Tariffs and Trade Wars, Millions of other private-sector jobs wiped out, two Bear Market Declines in the USA Stock Market and two more declines that came damn close to Bear Declines, a deadly Pandemic that mass murdered at least a Million Americans and millions more around the World, destoyed worldwide economies, closed schools, businesses and travel venues, double and triple-digit global inflation, collapsed supply-chains, higher oil and gas prices, no end to ANY War America was involved in with boots-on-the-ground combat and starting still another Blood-Thirsty Repub Quagmire Counterproductive Forever War of Repub Choice, decades record high violent crime and murder rates and an America-hating mob of cop-killing insurrectionists being led into bloody battle on American Soil in a War Against Democracy to overturn a free and fair election and assassinate a few duly-elected officials along the way including Trump's own Vice President vs my business sense voting FOR a historic economic recovery, millions of jobs recovered that Trump wiped out, millions more created than all three Repub so-called presidents' policies and stewardship combined, Trump included of course, no Pandemic, no million Americans and millions more mass murdered, no worldwide economic destruction, no collapsed global supply-chains, no double and triple-digit inflation, lowering violent crime and murder rates from the highs under Trump to decades long record lows and more bi-partisan pro business and jobs creation legislation in decades.
See, your decisions not to vote for the Dem in 2016,2020 and 2024 produced the results before that "vs" above while my votes for those Dems produced the results after that "vs".
Elections have consequences. And, consequently, read the scorecard and weep. No cheating possible on this one. It is firmly in the history books and record of actual results.
Thailand is a country. California is a state.
The fact is that Thailand is a country California is a state within the country that I call the Dis United States of America. There are 50 states currently. Although the current POTUS as spoken about adding a 51st state.
I am 100% sure it is cheaper to buy a nice condo in Thailand rather than California.
So now you are engaged in the Logical Fallacy of comparing all of Thailand with on particular state in the Dis United States of America. If your assertion was true you would have provided proof. But you have not. So I reject your assertion until you back it up with some cold hard facts.
I checked condo prices in Thailand on my last trip and they are very reasonable.
Where in Thailand did you check? Are you making a per meter comparison? A condo is very different from a house. So are you comparing Apples to Oranges?
Facts are that it is cheaper to live in Thailand than to live in USA.
Are you sure about that? Instead of just making an assertion how about presenting some facts to back up your statement. The discussion is about living outside of the Dis United States of America. I gave you a list of countries where individuals from the Dis United States of America live. Were they all cheaper to live in than the Dis United States of America? No!
Besides cost of living contains many different components. Not possible for you to say simply because condo prices are lower the prices of an entire lifestyle is lower. If it was you would back it up with some numbers instead of just WAGS (Wild Ass Guesses).
Cheapest City by Home Price: Birmingham, Alabama (Median ~$148,000)
Were the condos you looked at in Thailand less than this? If so, where? Give the specific city. Why only Thailand?
Your assertion remains that it less expensive to live outside of the Dis United States of America than it is to live inside of it. This is not true. I present the following evidence to back up my statement:
Monaco is the worlds most expensive real estate market, with property prices exceeding $38,000 per square meter ($3,603 per square foot). This extreme valuation is driven by limited land availability, a tax-free lifestyle, and high demand from the global ultra-wealthy, where $1 million buys only about 172205 square feet of prime property.
Following Monaco, the next most expensive markets are:
New York City, USA: Approximately $27,500 per square meter, driven by its status as a global financial hub and scarcity in Manhattan.
Hong Kong, China: Approximately $26,300 per square meter, resulting from dense population and geographic constraints.
London, UK: Prime real estate averages around $24,000 per square meter, with areas like Mayfair and Kensington commanding top prices.
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France: Prices exceed $21,200 per square meter, catering to buyers seeking privacy and coastal luxury on the French Riviera.
Please make a note that this list contains the names of cities within countries. So the entire Dis United States of America is not cheaper to live in than everywhere in the world outside of the Dis United States of America.
