Only accidently found out about it due to googling about the protests in the hours before my departure from Thailand.

P4P also seems to be as normal, from my very limited experience.

Now insisting on video calls before any michat meeting, and so far, so good. Didn't insist on it on my first visit last night (just arrived from Thailand, where I didn't bother), and it was, as usual in Indonesia, somebody completely different waiting for me in the lobby, wearing a face mask even. I didn't even bother acknowledging her, but just walked straight past her, looked at some stuff, and back up to the elevator, walking past her again.

Then had a handful of people refusing video call, until one 18 yo agreed and turned up half an hour later, looking as she did on the video call before. Actually she had some problems sending selfie to me from the lobby too. Some sorry ass excuse, so thought it was another scammer, but since I already have moved her from michat to whatsapp for the previous video call, easy to video call her again, so thought I'd do that rather than tell the scammer to fuck off. She still looked right, so went down to meet her. Next time, I'll just video call again directly once she says she's arrived I think, rather than bothering her with selfies. More safe, and quicker too.

Back to the room, banged her, and back she went.

So I think this is the safest and fastest way to weed out the michat scammers:
1) move to whatsapp, video call. Most scammers will refuse, and perhaps some real girls too unfortunately (but I will never know about the real girls). Just a few seconds video call is enough. Say hi, see she looks ok, and then say "ok" or "no".

2) once arrived at hotel, video call again. This weeds out the remaining scammers. See they're at what looks like your hotel in the video call, and the same girl, then go down to meet.

Still have to deal with the "bad service" scam I guess. Won't do this, won't do that, but at least, you're with the real girl now.

Coming to Michat hunting, I agree, the multiple video calls would help us filter out scammers. There is another scenario where the Michat profiles are handled by the agents, some of them are not scammers (based on reports shared by few punters from the forum), but there could few who will have malicious plans to scam the hobbyists, chiefly the visiting ones. I was asked to pay upfront an amount by an agent last time, stating I was using their services for the first time (Smile). I said goodbye. Luckily the agent didn't pester me again on Michat. So initial screening with a video calls will help to see the girl chatting with, and the subsequent video call at the hotel lobby or outside the hotel would help to weed out pertinent scammers. I didn't continue with conversation, when I figure out it was an agent on the other end.

Finally, bad service or attitude or drama scams are hard to eliminate completely. After all, everyday is not Sunday. Happy Punting! Cheers.

On my previous stay, the first time I used michat, I did around 15 bookings I think. Except for three, they were all bad. Those three were however also handled by agents (they seem to call them "admin" here).

I'm not sure what would have happened had I requested a video call for those three. Maybe they would have refused, and I'd lost those three decent experiences, or maybe they'd given me the whatsapp of the girl and told her to answer when I called. I suspect I will find out this week.

It's a pity really. Two admins (one girl was an unintentional repeat. Not sure if from a different "admin", or he has several accounts for the same girls) sent real girls, but they get drowned in a sea of scammers. If the Punter is staying for more than a week or so. He can try different venues, various SOPs etc. (wink) as he have time to explore different options (entertainment houses, spas, clubs, social media apps, malls, coffee shops etc.) I thoroughly enjoyed my visits to Classic (than Travel. Again a personal preference) however when a bird visit you at your hotel or apartment and when things goes well; It's a different game altogether. Indeed it brings digital card, customs declaration, and health declaration, under one hat. I advise using the app. The app asks about your visa number, so it is not impossible that the QR code is all that you need, ie maybe no need to show the visa.

I only found out about it by coincidence, after I had already filled out all the other forms you used to need to fill out unfortunately.
