Surely you jest - I've never once taken a cab from Don Muang. Besides the train service, which was, as has been reported, a regular one and located just steps from the airport, there were also the Airport Buses. For 100 baht going into town, or 50 baht going to the airport, you could choose from three lines - one to Sukhumvit, one over by Kowsan road, and another one to Silom.
The Don Muang train station wasn't really the best way to get into town, but it was a great way to avoid Bangkok entirely.

Yes, I come from NYC and they dump me late. After dealing with traffic or train from midtown to JFK or Newark, and 20+ hours in planes, I want booty, food and beer ASAP (in that order). I ususally share a cab with somebody I meet on the plane.

No real purpose for the meeting other than three friends meeting at a bar known to two of us from previous visits to BKK. Specifically I have in the past enjoyed a few evenings at the AVA Bar, and I am wondering if a) Does it still exist? and b) What is the quality of women like there now?

I am cringing while I watch several friends get relieved of their money. I watched 2 already get their inheritances cleaned out. I warned one to be careful and he told me "I'm in it for love, you're in it for sex". A fool and his money are soon parted. When the money is gone, they find out no more pooying. Sometimes a good hearted expat sitting on a pile of money will get "flying lessons" off a balcony or "special spices" put on their food to help them part with it quicker.

In terms of a traveling with a GF, I've taken my Thai lady to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos AND the sex continued to be GREAT in all three locations.
However, after reading over the Burma board, methinks I'll make at least one side trip ALONE next summer (i.e. to taste some new fruit). Thankfully, I still have a few EUROs in the bank and I'm not yet 70 years old...lol.

Yes, you are right. I love going to the airport where I pick up girls waving off their farang boyfriends with about a 70% score rate (I like cuckolding). Usually I tape it - or get the driver to do it surreptitiously.
