Potentially higher prices or expectations of quick service by the GDPs). I have friends from every shade of the rainbow and have all of my life. I have also mongered side by side with mongers from all over the world in Brazil, Colombia, DomRep, Panama, Germany and Amsterdam--its not about race. I have personally talked to guys (white and European) that have approached a girl and she flat out told them that she prefers men with darker skin for whatever reason. Also, I have personally been told by women and mongers (the guys, who, interestingly enough used this to brag that they could get any girl) that they will try to go with white/European men first because they can get more money. These are facts (as presented to me, characteristic of some chicas and GDPs), not my opinion.

Now, this part is my opinion. My observations are NOT out of the realm of reality. For those that know the dynamics of the Americas, to include colonization, slavery and the relatively recent integration/mixing of the races, it all makes sense. In the Americas (South and Central, Caribbean and North), over time, it has generally been those with white skin that are the more well-to-do financially, due in part to historic limitations put on the advancement of people of color during and since slavery (not being allowed to read, go to school, hold a job with good wages, allowed to advance in society, etc). Then, of course, there are institutional biases and long-standing family-taught descrimination that is prevalent in some societies (Colombian, Cuban, Dominican and Brazilian to name a few that I have had personal experiences with). In a "thing" I had going on with a Colombian girl here in the US, she told me how she had to explain to her mother that I wasn't "too" black. A fair skinned Dominicana whom I had been with on 4 separate occasions for the same price, once told me that she would have to postpone our session because she was going to be with an Italian man who was going to pay twice the going price for the same amount of time. Of course, any American knows the adage "Once you go black, you never go back, " which was popularized by the curiousity of white women since reconstruction and the later end of segregation when interracial relationships began to be more common.

No one can argue that the rumors/stereotypes do exist of the virility and potency of those with African ancestry. These are even bought into by the very existence, at high levels, of mongers who travel to places where interbreeding with those of African ancestry has created those magnificent asses and sensuality of the women that we love so much (hint: this didn't come from the Spanish).

Hughdad, I respect your comments and thank you again for the constructive dialogue. For anyone else who has commented constructively, thanks to you as well. However, anyone wishing to label me some sort of racist or being gullible, I get your point. Now, let it go. Let the thread get back to its purpose and if you have further comments, just PM me. Number 1 check. They are just as ghetto and sloppy as can be these days. Being a gdp at MP used to mean something!
Number 2 check. I remember when I would get 2 gdp for 100 reais special at MP with no time restraints. Now one girl of lower quality will want at least 200 reais for probably an hour or so.
Number 3 I could care less about. That won't stop the show.

Typically, when it comes to the "baiting", you'll usually find one of the white mongers doing that. Somebody always has to throw in some gratuitous comment about how they are "preferred" because they're white, or they got "special treatment" or a better price because they're white. Or sometimes, the comment is just outright racist.

Now, when that happens, I don't see any white guys coming out of the woodwork saying that it's wrong and has no place here. Most just sit back on their hands and do and say nothing. I think there's two issues:
1) Do girls prefer certain types of men?
Sure they do. But apart from the rich-not-poor, nice-not-rude, gentle-and-kind-versus-treats-me-like-a-dump categories, individual girls will have individual likes and dislikes. Young or old. Black, White, Asian. Muscular, not.

It might do ego good to say, from my experience, and it might be true, but it means squat. Women are women and have different prefs.

I used to write highly descriptive reports, mini-articles, to create as best I could a feeling of being in a certain place. After a furore and a lot of attacks because I had used the phrase 'a loud black man' I decided not to bother with those long posts any more and took a back seat. I'm not at all racist, but realise some people are very sensitive about such issues. There was an upset on the UK forum recently when an Indian called another Indian a racist cos he thought he was being discriminated against. My suggestion is, if you personally find a post offensive, rather than discussing it (which takes up a lot of space and detracts from the subject), just report it. Let Jackson make up his mind on it and accept his decision, one way or the other. He may even comment from time to time - it's his Board. Otherwise the same old stuff gets recycled and the only option will be full moderation to keep it down - which it seems people don't really want!

I agree with most of what you said, but I' like to offer a couple of thoughts on our perceptions of others.

1. I have read so many times "Americans are loud", then Americans write it's not so. I remember reading about a study that showed that people perceive that others speaking in a foreign language or accent speak loudly -- the "loud foreigner syndrome". I think I have heard just about every race and culture being loud and behaving badly.

2. My experience is that when people drink, just about everyone gets loud. I ran into a group of Italians the other night in Rio and they could not have been characterized as soft spoken. I ran into a group of Scottish futbol fans in Norway and OMG. Germans on holiday in the Netherlands, Chinese in the US, Russians in Dubai, Saudis in KL, and on and on. All playing the loud foreigner.

Interestingly, people also tend to say people from other countries have big noses -- French, Italians, Spanish, Arabs, Jews ... and OMG, the size of noses of the Dutch!!! Fortunately, Asians excape this, but, of course, their noses are too small. And Africans noses are too flat, but they make up for it elsewhere. And of course the Chinese don't have any noses to speak of, or dicks for that matter, but, of course they are smarter than the rest of us.

Now that I have put the entire world in order, my only point is we all have our perceptions and biases. And we all get loud and obnoxious when we drink. And WE DRINK!

Generally speaking, tourists are perceived to be loud and to behave badly. And it is probably true if they are drinking. I just try to remember this when I am the "fish out of water" and try to tone it down. Not only is it the polite thing to do, it is safer as well.

Wel, being a naturalized American, I will say that Americans just speak louder than many europeans, and it has nothing to do with tourism. I think, Americans do in general have bigger voice. I'm not an expert in any way, but it's gotta to do something with articulation, not language. I think, British speak much quieter.

I agree with Slimholedrill (great handle, btw). What does have something to do with tourism, is that we are here to have fun. So after a few drinks folks lose their inhibition, so we get even louder. I don't see it as a problem, as long as people don't become rude and obnoxious. Then it may become a problem and often will.

I will say this about Russian tourists (coming from Russia, so no offence to anyone). Russians are very different before and after the drinking. Before - they are quite, inhibited and very aware of their environment, even kind of shy because of their lanquage limitations. After a few - the world is my oyster, fuck all. LOL.

Still, with everything said above, Americans tourists are certainly not the loudest bunch. Anyone who says that, never heard Germans. Now THEY are really loud. Again, no offence. I like everyone.

Rodeo don't believe the hype bro. Take it from a blackman that has been going to Rio for years, while there might be a small percentage that do fall under that category, the vast majority do not. The ones you talked to were either the ones that were blowing smoke like they all mostly do and/or they were probably that very small percentage that actually feel that way. But it's definitely not representative of the whole Rio scene or even the Copa triangle.Trust me there are garotas who even in Help aren't down at all. after taking a nap and leaving the apartment at 6pm, i decided on trying a different place for my opener - 4x4 is usually the terma of choice if it's a weekday, and luomo if it's a weekend. i hopped on the metro to centro uruguiana stop and walked down buenos aires past 4x4, a few blocks later i end up on rua do carmo 44/64 where termas cancun is. i wanted to try the whiskeria as i heard some pretty good things about it. so i was wearing shorts and flip-flops and they didn't want to let me into the whiskeria, which is right next door and is called "whiskeria manhattan". so i took a peek into the terma at termas cancun - only like 10 girls in the boite at 6:45p! i then walk next door again and told them it was my first time at the whiskeria so they decided to let me in. the set up here is very tranquil - basically a rectangle room with chairs and tables lined up on each side. lots of locals in business suits, so i was definitely underdressed! there were about 30 girls and maybe 15 guys. seemed like there were 2 or 3 girls each sitting at a guy's table. i saw about 3 or 4 that i would session with, but they were busy so i decided to buy one drink. chatted with a couple of girls, but nothing of interest. so i got up and paid the bill - $r20 cover + r$5 for my drink, so damage was r$25.

Get over it. I haven't seen one particular race that's truly preferred over the other in Brazil. The gals will tell you anything if they think it will make you like them more and have a session with them (ie., give them money). I've had garotas tell me that they didn't like Asian men and that they have small dicks but it has never stopped an Asian guy from having the time of their life in Brazil. Hell, the Asian guys I've met all had big smiles on their faces just like everyone else.

That is exactly what I was referring to: guys that choose to believe everything that the GDPs are saying when they are clearly negotiating and then report it here as the absolute truth. It really does not help the new guys that come here for advice and read this as they may believe it to be fact.

Rather than get all "raucus and in your face loud" out in public in Rio and giving Americans a bad name (no, not all Americans are loud mouths that think we run the ultimate game when in Rio), I am investing a great deal of time focused on learning Porto. I will be spending a great deal of time in Rio in the coming years. Speaking the language obviously is essential to conducting business there - but I really look forward to getting the additional benefit you describe above of striking up a conversation in the ladies' own language. Then the conversation can get beyond the pre-packaged small talk, and it certainly widens the pool of ladies.

It was a Friday and I wanted to hit Centro one more time before the weekend came. Unfortunately, that plan was squashed since I had already made plans with my landlord to go to Lapa at 7p, so I had to figure out where to go and get back to the apartment by 6:30 p. I felt under time constraints, just like those usual last terma sessions right before you head to GIG to go back home.

I ended up choosing Monte Carlo since it was within 15 minutes walking distance from the apartment. I got there at 4:30p - pretty dead, only about 12 girls in the boite. This dud named Isabela that I sessioned with on my last trip sat down and started trying to get friendly. She was a total dud in the cabine last time, so I told her I had to go to the sauna and left. All walks of life were at this place - old, young, locals, and a sprinkling of tourists. All I can say is the women at this place were off the charts! Talk about heavenly creatures. I will have to beef up my Portuguese one day to be able to run with these garotas. My time will come, but not yet. We left right at midnight - I paid my cover and one drink, which came out to R$28. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Lapa nightlife.

I will be back in Rio in a few weeks and plan on spending more time in Lapa by the Arch. This club you went to, can you eat diiner there? I plan on going with a few people and eant to see the live bands, They serve food there? Do you know if you need to make a reservation if they do?
