Is this 3 hours from landing time to take off time if so by the time you get off one plane and back on to the other the odds are you won't have enough time. When I land on my next trip in June the landing time will be 1505 hrs at Bkk and then departing flight to HKT is 1820hrs. In that time I have to get off the plane go through passport control collect my bag and then check in for my next flight.

Actually, I was referring to your lower class attitude and, based on your "brilliant" postings, came to the conclusion that you are, at best, a lower socioeconomic, blue collar laborer. Probably lucky to make minimum wage, if and when, you can find legal employment.
FYI, I was drafted and, thinks to my "intelligence", offered a college degree and commission. My entire Army Senior Officer retirement check goes directly to savings. And BTW, I am positive that my Thai wife (non-bar girl) comes from a better family than you and has far more education. I am extremely proud of my Thai wife and any guy, especially someone of your caliber, would be extremely lucky to have her.

It's the equivelant of a Coproral. PH has a problem with authority because it was E-4s who made him clean the toilets in the barracks.

Nothing close to the new airport.
It will take you at least an hour to clear immigration and take a taxi to the closest massage parlor. Figure an hour doing your business, and an hour back to the airport, clear security and make it to your aircraft. That leaves how much time for traffic, or other delays? Not worth the risk.

That's easy, PH - you do. You're making a huge thing of the colloquial use of the word "robbed," which the poster intended to mean, "paid too much." There was also a touch of irony in that statement. The type of "tour" you had can cost 40B, 20B or nothing because the driver makes his profit from the commissions he gets from delivering easy marks to various businesses, whether they be MPs, gem shops or tailors.
A taxi ride (on the meter) between Suk Soi 11 and Livingstones on Soi 33 costs about 50B in light traffic and takes about 15 minutes, maybe even less. You explain to me - how could the tuk tuk driver not LOSE several times that amount by driving you for three hours for 50B? The minimum daily wage in Bangkok for an unskilled laborer is 194B and will soon go up to 203B daily. A rate of 50B for three hours would yield the tuk tuk driver 133B for an eight-hour day, from which he'd have to pay for fuel, maintenance on his vehiclle, etc. Again, explain to us all how he could make a living as an independent entrepeneur on a gross income that is considerable less than an unskilled laborer would make?
I have a feeling that if you didn't pay rip-off prices at the places you visited on your three-hour tour, then you are still in Kansas, Toto.
To everyone else - It's fairly obvious than PH is the latest incarnation of a well-known troll who always begins by pretending to be a newbie and asking very detailed but reasonable questions, then follows up with an unbelievable T/R that always contradicts the advice he received and results in less-than-amicable responses.
