I was in Manila for a week in October end. First of all, a big thanks to the OGs here who answered all my questions about stay and location. You comrades deserve a big salute!

And so does Manila. Never have I enjoyed an Asian mongering destination more. And I've been to TH, Indonesia, Vietnam, HK, Japan and Dubai (which is awesome, but very expensive). It is just perfect: neither in your face like TH nor too much effort like Vietnam. In fact I got a bit overwhelmed by the number of girls toward the end LOL. Started with PL and got instant connects. While many girls just want to fleece you, there is a healthy number of las which are ready for P2 P or want something long term. I happened to connect with both.

While p2 p was instant gratification for 3000, long term was infact more fun. We met for coffee and she was unwilling to come back to my place. Agreed to meet me socially during my stay and show me around the city. Now why would I say no to a free tour guide! So I agreed to the offer and she took to MOA and a few other places. While Manila and AC can be a great introduction for the newbie, you are 100% correct that venturing further has definite benefits. Expect lots of beaches, scenery and things to do during the day along with much fresher girls and costs a fraction of the online or bar scenes in the big cities.

The typical steps are Manila and AC to Cebu and Davao to Provincial Mindanao, Cebu or Lyete.

I'm wondering what's the situation with the guest access at the Airbnbs in buildings like Air residence, Gramercy Residences, etc. All these big condominium residential buildings where 99% of the airbnb s are located? My only time in Manila was a little surprise. It turns out that they are not allowing guests to enter the building if they are not registered in advance by the host. And no, just the regular ID registration at the reception wasnt allowed.

It was a little circus, I was explained that its not possible, the girl was sitting at some lounge areas in the lobby waiting to grant her access and it took 5 awkward minutes to reach a "financial agreement" with the guys at the reception. I have them something like 300-400 php. Its not about the money, its the awkwardness of the situation. The girl was a normal freelance girl that felt pretty awful with all this circus and I'm hoping to avoid it this time.

Yeah I understand that most of the time it will works if you give some money to the guys in the reception but I don't want to depend on their "willingness to cooperate" - imagine you are with a hottie, you had a great night at some bar and you are horny as hell coming at your place and then a round of negotiation starts. Once I was thinking to give money in advance to the guys in the reception to speed up the process but they are so many people in this residential buildings, the staff is rotating all the time, its wasnt possible to arrange things in advance.

Just let us register with ID in the reception and enjoy the time together, we are not entering a Top secret military site LOL. BTW I saw in lets say at least 50% of the Aribnb rules of the listings in Manila clearly written "You have to send us a copies of the IDs in advance, its not possible the apartment to be visited by other guests during your stay".

I've had the full range from walking away from a week long booking the next morning because I couldn't get anyone in to walk right though, no questions asked and everything between. I'd make these comments about ways of improving your chances:

Bookings through Agoda, Booking etc go much smoother than through AirBnB.

High-end 5 Star Residences have far stricter rules and enforcement than lower tier options.

Girls who look like $20 hoes get stopped far more often than girls dressed like librarians.

Hoes alone get stopped far more often than with a resident guy.

Hotels are far more accommodating than Residences.

A good relationship with security and desk staff helps.

If you find a location that is guest friendly, stick with it. Don't risk moving to a unknown room just to try something different.

Sorry that I couldn't give you any hard and fast rules but it really is a crap shoot.

Needed or not, I always pass around 50's or 100's, depending on the nr of staff involved, if 2-3 of them 100 each if more 50 each, I'm used to it from Vegas where you tip for drinks, ushers, valet, etc. When I bring someone, I just pass them another 100 as usual, they remember you, and respect you, at least so that the tips keep coming.

If I stay longer in one place, I'll bring back with me when handy and it's on my way back, a cheap piece of fried something, a fruit, a doughnut from the street vendors, or a coke if stopping at 7/11. Never had a problem. Some guys are saying fuck that! I'm not doing that kind of shit, me I'm doing it regardless of needing their assistance, or not, just helping out some poor bastards that had the bad chance of being born in the wrong place.
