General Information

A must visit is the Silver Dollar right off Osmena Circle. Any cab driver knows it, if they don't do not trust them. Heard it sold, or is in the process of being sold. If it closes that would be a shame. Great place to relax, have a beer, and enjoy the girls. I have been going there since the early 90's.

I would avoid the "Basketball Court" during the night, it is not a safe area. Even in the day, unless you are seasoned mongerer and remember all the little things, e.g., cab door locked all the time, negotiate hard, don't have girl thrown at you, etc., it can be daunting. Also, they sneak a lot of these girls onto the ships at dock. As a result, they contract a lot of scary stuff.

If you are a first timer - and until you get comfortable - stick to the Mango Ave. bars, the Lone Star (around the corner from Mango St. bars) and the Silver Dollar.

There were previous reports suggesting maybe Americans were not welcomed at Kiwi Lodge. Not so.

Have been there many times since those reports and can verfify there are americans staying there. Best friend of owner says he knows americans are welcomed. Then spoke to owner just last night, or should I say he spoke to me, cause he recognised me as a regular paying customer. Told him about gossip, he laughed and said not so, americans welcomed.

Lots of flags from various countries there. Suggest you bring along American one and raise it, LOL.

I would recommend Affinity KTV Bar right next to the Ayala Center. For 4000 Peso one can bar fine which INCLUDES the price for the girl. I bar fined a nice girl there. I found the Silver Dollar in an area that I did NOT feel too comfortable in walking around at night, but Affinity is in a decent neighborhood. If you like to sing, this is a good place.

Has anyone recently been to the allegedly difficult to locate (RTFF) Liza's Sea Fun Pub in Cabahug Street (taxi plus massage hahahahaha = rough translation of street name). What is the cuisine like? And are the women still the most pleasant, and attractive, of company? Are they 18 - 19, 20s, 30s in age? Many thanks.

The area where Silver Dollar is a perfectly safe place. It is just down from Fuente circle. The quality of girls at the Silver Dollar however is questionable. Its a good place to have a beer though - they open early and the owner (Chris) runs a straight up business.

Rx required for Viagra everywhere in Phil, although Doctor visit is about 10 dolars only. Prices for even generic V are HIGH!. You can take your chances with a street vendor, but better to get in other countries.

They can get better rates than individuals can at Waterfront (Marriott too). Marriott is nice, and convenient to Ayala Center, but Waterfront is WAY nicer and in a more upmarket area.

In terms of violent crime, I agree with IFR pilot that Fuente Osmena area is safe, just ignore the large number of beggars. Even Jakosalem Street and the downscale nightlife area of Cebu City is not that bad IMHO. Safer than red light areas of most US cities.

If your bothered for a prescription just go to the next pharm. You don't need to even think about buying it on the street - it is just a matter of walking into the pharmacy.

Bad luck Delbert, I guess they must have sold their allocated number of discount rooms.

I would advise against staying at Marriots at the moment due to all of the construction work going on at the moment right next to the Hotel!

I just read your post on Mactan and Korean / Japanse crowd. Had a CB girl check out the area the last days and am disapointed in the results. Top spot south sea view (Hilton) = 3. 500 $ / square meter. New projects in Vistamar (Mirada) or Punta Engana (Amisa) seem to be bout half that price but ready in two years only with more tower constructions not making it peaceful for the next ten years, not to mention execution risk. What would be your number one "value" place recommendation with sea view, tennis, golf for semi-retirement but with quick airport exit possible like in Mactan?
