I mean, as everyone knows, Obama was the one who got Iran to put in writing that they will never pursue nuclear weapons, Trump is the one who twice confirmed that Iran was in full compliance with that agreement, then Trump is the one who immediately dispelled with all National Security reason and tore up that agreement leaving Iran to do whatever it damn well pleased for the next 9 years now that their most virulent anti-American hardliners' predictions were proven true by Trump that they can't trust and shouldn't have honored any agreement with America, then Trump is the one who ignored his own intel and all expert warnings not to start a War of Whim against Iran because, 1, it posed no threat of a nuclear attack, 2, the regime was already softening its stance against America and the West since that Obama agreement had set them on that path already, 3, the old hardline Supreme Leader was on his deathbed anyway, 4, he was surrounded by moderates waiting nearby to take over at the moment of his death and, 5, to start a War of Whim Against Iran would surely mean Iran would retaliate with all the moves they have indeed retaliated with so far that have only handed them more power over worldwide economies than they ever had before, then Trump is the one who ignored all of that and launched his War of Whim Against Iran anyway, killing the already dying Supreme Leader, killing all if the moderates who were waiting in the wings ready to take over, killing thousands of Iranian citizens and hundreds of Iranian children for which Iran most assuredly has resolved to never, never, never comply with any agreement with America ever again and will also most assuredly devote themselves to acquiring nuclear weapons as well as launch into generations of asymmetrical warfare against America and Americans all around the world as targets of terrorism and terrorist attacks, all set in motion and freshly inspired by Trump because he owed some leaders in the Middle East, who always pined for America to plunge itself into a Forever War Against Iran, payback for getting him elected, dodging justice and filling his and his Crime Family's pockets with hundreds and hundreds of billions and billions of dollars in emoluments, bailoults and bribes.

WWI was immediately followed by a horrific Recession.
FDR's economic recovery from the Great Repub Depression was roaring along just fine prior to WWII.
Then there was a Recession during WWII.
The Attack on Pearl Harbor and Declaration of War from Germany to America only delayed far better economic measures that could have been taken for the American people instead.
Followed by another Recession immediately after WWII when all the bills came due.
Repub Eisenhower did everything he could to fully commit the USA military to Forever Wars in Iran / The Middle East and Vietnam. Despite the country having to gear up for those Repub Forever Wars his efforts resulted in 3 Recessions during his 8 years in office and one of the worst jobs creation records in modern history.
Repub GHW Bush slept through and never responded to his Iraq Ambassador's request from Saddam Hussein to share his opinion of the idea to invade and take over Kuwait. Consequently, Hussein invaded Kuwait and we had to respond with a Repub War in Kuwait, which itself triggered damaging economic and national security ripple effects ever since. But at least Repub president GHW Bush had several good nights' sleep and a few pleasant rounds of golf. Oh, and his presidency also produced one of the worst jobs creation records in modern history.
His son, GW Bush, started at least 2 Repub Wars of Choice based on a Repub lie and they raged throughout his two terms. His economy was one of the Worst of all time for any president, beat out on the Worst rank by only Repub Hoover and Repub Trump.
Repub Trump presided over Repub GW Bush's War in Afghanistan for the entirety of his first term. His economy and jobs creation record, especially when you factor in the Trillions he added to the deficit, was crap even before he ushered in Trump's Pandemic and turned into Total Historic Crap after he ushered in Trump's Pandemic.
Trump's Repub War of Choice in Iran based on a Repub Lie in his 2nd term is not only not turning around his crap economic results from prior to plunging America into it, the weak GDP Growth and weak jobs creation numbers strongly suggest he will be the first president in USA history to serve two terms, 8 years, and not produced a single net gain private-sector job in the economy and might very well leave office having wiped out more than a million private-sector jobs. And, again, that is despite him adding Trillions and Trillions more to his deficits than any other president in history and having started and presided over War for almost every month of those two terms.
See, the optical illusion part of this that Repubs love is that it just so happens that the USA economy has done very well over the past 100 years or so whenever a Dem is in the White regardless whether a foreign country starts a War on their watch or they have to contend with a Repub Forever War of Choice based on a Repub Lie or if there is no War at all other than a few months at the beginning of their term that they got us out of; Carter, Clinton, Biden, honorable mention to Obama for cutting GW Bush's two Repub Forever Wars down to one, the one Repub Trump happily presided over for the entirety of his first term while still producing the Worst economic results since Repub Hoover, the one Biden ended.
Meanwhile, War or no War, a Dem in the White House has guaranteed far superior economic results while a Repub in the White House has guaranteed crap economic results for at least 100 years.
So whenever the above happens, Repubs jump on it with a lame and false claim that the only reason the economy did so much better under the Dem was because another country started a War against us, against some other country, one of their Repub Forever Wars was raging on and on and shit like that. Which never explains why Dem economies are still far superior to Repub economies of the past 100 years whether you're compare a no war Dem presidency to a no war Repub presidency or a war Dem presidency to a war Repub presidency.
The key to far superior USA economies vs horrific USA economies is a Dem in the White House vs a Repub in the White House. Nothing to do with War or no War.

But let me remind everybody that there already is a "Odyssey" film out there. It's called "Ulysses" staring Kirk Douglas, Silvana Mangano, and Anthony Quinn and while the special effects are circa 1954, this film tells the story the way it was meant to be told. I liked the casting of Silvana Mangano as both Circe and Penelope. That was fucking brilliant! I especially liked the father and son reunion and the finale fight scene where Ulysses (Kirk Douglas) takes back what is rightfully his ie his kingdom, his home, and his wife. Again, I have not seen the Nolan remake, but I guarantee you one thing: Kirk Douglas is 10 x the actor Matt Damon is.
