There is a group of bars in a re-used boxing hall along the road oposite Club Med - about 300 m from Kata Central? One of these bars at the back on the right (you can't see it from the road) had a very decent selection of 4 - 6 girls. Find what you like, hop on the back of her motorcycle to your hotel. ST 1000 Bht. Picked three girls from this bar and performance was not bad at all on every occasion. So Kata not such a desert after all.

It is on the main road, directly opposite the club med entrance. Sounds good if it is, I have booked the Ibis Kata, right near there. As to renting cars - most guys suggest scooters. I did that and saw much of the island with little trouble. Not too sure about the best mongering around where you'll be, though. Perhaps in Phuket city?

Check out how Pablo handled his problem at a hotel in the direction of Mai Khao. Your hotel is north of the airport and much further away from the epicenter of nightlife, Patong Beach. Phuket Town is more for Thai's so better to stay close to Patong.

Believe me, I live on phuket. The closest beaches are nai yang and nai thon. Try the massage places there. Some of them can offer extra's but not sure.

I arrived yesterday rom Bangcock and need a little extra time to adapt myself. Compared to Pattaya, some things are done in a slightly different way here. I mention some of the things I did not liked, at random.
Most places ask to keep your passport to rent a scooter. Most will then settle for a 2,000 B. deposit (compare to 1,000 in Pattaya), but even found some that do not. How anybody in his right mind will accept to surrend his passport to rent a scooter is outside of my understanding.
The city street layout is quide messed up. The one-way streets go for too much a distance without interesctions, and the ones going up-hill or in the more internal areas, are also confusing. There is only one (I think) gas pump unless you want to pay the extra price by the bottle. I spent too much a long time driving around in the hope to get aquainted with the areas, but mostly failed.
I stop for directions and some older (European nationality omitted) guys sitting in a small bar try to help me, but as I leave not having made much sense of them, one of them calls me "stupid fuck" in his thick accent. I turn back and he already stands up and wants a fight ?!? As I get closer I realize he's just an old man with the pock-marked red nose of a chronic drinker. I make him aware of his sorry condition, and leave. Comes to mind, these are the kind of people that caused the Thai gov. to make more and more diffocult to get a lont term satying visa.
There is also more visible police presence compared to Pattaya. Good for security, but also mean you can be stopped and given a fine for whatever futile reason like not having driver license with you as opposed to a passport or copy.
At some point I parked my bike between two cars, there was ample space available and I did not blocked anyone in any manner. A Thay man (street vendor ?)gets angry about it and shouts at me. I replied calmly, with my broken thai, that there was no need to get hot, he then calms down and apologize, we then shake hands. I don't think that would have happened in Pattaya except of course if you stop where the taxi bikers stand.
In the backstreet I see many bars totally empty of either girls or customers. The only ones that were vibrant are the ones around walking street, at night only. Not much action going on the rest of the day.
The first entertrainment stop I took was at Banana disco around midnight. That place is wasted money, with the 200 B. cover, small floor and not so fun audience, too many guys and few women, mostly Western, may heaven drive them away from my path.
Even parking a scooter is not so easy, anyway I walk to Holliwood and it's slightly better, many more hotties to dance with still a sizeable number of "regular" couples. I hook up with a table of 5 or 6 girls and all are quite attractive and willing to make friendship.
I take a fancy on deliciously tanned one, Mei, has two tones hair extensions that were "fabolous". She is easy to be with and agrees to a 1,500 B. gift. Drinks are 160 B. for the usual sub-par cocktail or shot. You may do a little better appearance with an Italian sparkling wine for 1,200, I did passed on that only because I noticed the girls at "my" table had plenty of drinks, be that invitation from the next guy or self-paid.
We leave a little about 2 am and I notice she driver a nice 250cc scooter, unusual for here but whe will not admit that :)
All good with perhaps too much talking, she is sweet but I am not having one of the best performances of my life, and cannot find a 2nd condom anywhere. She is also sperm shy, kind of a bummer as it happens. So most of the night is spent in a deep sleep until about 10 am when she needs to take her shift at the massage salon. Owned by a Western by the way.
At that point she is not in the mood for anything more, and proposes to have only 1,000 and be done. I accept because I had made clear to her that money is not an issues as long she performs, unfortunately at that point it become clear she would not ever become a tiger in the sack with me at least.
So, nothing to write home for this experience, however sleeping next to an smoking hot body in the better than a kick in the balls, then for suremy birthday celebration can still be extended and enjoyed with a bit more luck.
Last remark, I stay in a brand new guest unit of great quality for 600 B. Nice furniture, view and everything. There are four new PCs to use for free. The lady owner and her Indian help are courteous to the limit of embarassment. I will put the direction here if anybody needs to.

I come to the conclusion that this place is the best fishing area in town, but if you know of a better one, please say it now!
Of course, we are the fishes! We just try to exercise some discretion in getting into the mouths of our fisherladys.
Anyway, I walk in at 3am and the place is packed and jumping. There are 10s, 9s, countless 8s and more important almost any single one is willing to party and be taken. Someone had commented to me that girls are pushy for drinks, that did not happened to me yet. Of course you see that the really best looking ones are almost all taken already, but not always, I guess if you go early your chances would improve.
However I prefer to get there late, the theory behind it is that a woman will be more motivated in making a deal. I like to dress and play cool, I smile a lot and politely decline the approaches from ones I don't like. I whish some would say clearly "I suck you dry and you can fuck me in the ass too", but that doesn't happened yet.
So, early this morning I take a slightly older one, my expectations with these is that they perform better, and are more affectionate as the competition is more an issue for them than for younger hotties. That has often proved true, but not always.
The one of today for example, may be it was just an occasional trick as she claimed, was very horny, sucked well and everything, but quickly ran out of battery after she comes two or three times. A Viet. friend I have says it's good that Asian women came easily, but I think it can be also a disadvantage sometime. Another possibility, would be that they try to get a long term BF? Not even that, as rushing out an hotel room is not actually the best way to keep a man.
So we are left with the conclusion that they like quick fucks with for pocket money? I cannot come up with any other explanation for now, and I have been thinking about it for years. But, for that, as for many other apparently senseless Thai things, what the fuck I know really ?
Mr. E. I am staying at Baan Tonnum, something like Ratpathanusorn 67/13-14. The best direction I can give is the following:
Driving on beach road, take the first right after walking street. At the crossing with the road divisors, continue straight (watch out for cops as this would not be allowed). Take a left at the divided street with a big blue sign "Patong Beach Municipality". Keep going and after passing the fire station on your right, the place is the first building after the road makes a 90 left turn.
