I'm not a heavy monger but like to find good regulars who do what I like and are charming good souls. That could be had in Thailand from 2012-2023. Not so sure it's quite as good now.
I'm looking to explore and have never done Latin America at all. Time to get out there. Maybe fly USA to BOG or MED then onward to GIG etc and have a look around and spend some of my hard earned retirement savings.
Any first timer advice to Rio / Sao Paulo or Colombia much appreciated, or of course some popular saved links to trip reports done recently have some destinations, plans once I arrive.

To try to keep it fresh and interesting. On the itinerary for my next month-long trip are Sampa, Salvador, and Rio. Previous journeys have included Porto Alegre (did not like), Curitiba (really liked), and Florianopolis (cool and especially if you like the beach). Other destinations that have my interest for future travels are Belo Horizonte and Balneario Camboriu.

First, the USA Is crazy expensive. USA Laws and random enforcement have not only made it risky, but also created higher prices.
Canada is probably a better North American comparison. It's more reasonable particularly in USA Dollar terms.

If you were a good hang, you could spend some time chilling or touring with a girl. Many of the girls appreciated not being in a meat market looking for their next client. You just had to give them some money here and there to make it worth their while.
You can still find this in Brazil, Thailand and other destinations. It's just harder to find. Brazil and Thailand seem to be saturated with both mongers and transactional providers. I don't know if this was caused by the girls carrying around smartphones and getting dinged by multiple men on a given night. Certainly, globalization of the sort where Brazilian girls routinely spend several months in Europe is a contributing factor. My first (and so far only) trip to Brazil I covered Sao Paulo, Rio and Iguazu Falls. From a tourist point of view, Iguazu Falls on both the Brazil and Argentina sides were amazing. The food was okay but not as good as in Asia. Of course the mongering was great as the sps I met were easily the most affectionate working girls I've come across. However, apart from Iguazu Falls, I found much of my time in between sessions especially in Sao Paulo to be somewhat boring. It doesn't take long to see whatever limited tourist sights there are in Sao Paulo and even in Rio. I'm sure I'll come back to Brazil for more mongering in the future but I'm going to have quite a challenge to keep myself busy and occupied when I'm not with girls there. For me, this is true for Colombia as well. If it weren't for the chicas, I wouldn't even bother returning to Latin America after I've seen the main tourist attractions.

There are a ton of things to do, and I found some new stuff for my upcoming time I'll spend in Salvador and even Rio.
Sao Paulo has the best of world class restaurants, museums, sporting and cultural events, parks and gardens. I first visited Sao Paulo in the late 80's and I've gone regularly the past 10 years but I still find plenty to keep me entertained between sessions. On the other hand, I'm pretty low maintenance in this category because for example I'm happy spending a day exercising and people watching in Ibirapuera Park or an afternoon at Banco do Brasil Cultural Center.

I could pass a month only snorkelling, swimming, diving and other attractions around Buzios, Arrial do Cabo, and Cabo Frio.
I find this ongoing thread to be a fascinating study of the human psyche. I'm seeing hints of emotional engagement of the sort that isn't ideal in any business transaction. It's the same kind of energy that leads to ruinous alimony liability. Anyway, the pricing structure of Scandallo is more documented than most anything else in this forum. What doesn't come across in print is the objective meaning of terms like "top tier," "8, 9 ,10" etc. Guys have to define that for themselves because it's subjective except at the extremes. Some of the elaborate explanations feel to me like attempts to justify what we know to be unreasonable. I'm a strong believer that it's no one else's business what anyone else pays.
