It was an absolute Fanny Fest with barfines at PHP 1700 and an unbelievable choice of girls, some were unfamiliar with the bar and wanted to get out asap. They were all over us, very very friendly.

Went there next night and situation was same, but stifling heat was unbearable and we left for cooler bars over the road.

On night of 27th Feb all was back to normal, upstairs bars re-opened and Vikings was fairly cool and unfriendly.

So its business as usual now.

Firehouse was closed. I don:t know if they:ll be open again, but I doubt it. The letter posted on the door said something about p4p. Just when they figured out how to get the beer served cold... too bad.

Tina's downtown is a pitiful place. I left a half open beer....and that is rare for me. It has potential, but whatever. Fat chicks just don:t do it for me.

Just for shit and giggles, I walked into the "dangerous" area east of San Carlos Uni. I walked into the basketball court from two streets, but suspect there are some alleyways to get into there as well. There were some attractive women, but the pimp who shadowed me (despite my very obvious BACK OFF ASSHOLE communication) was such a sleazeball, that I just walked out. He followed me everywhere...

Next time I'll walk in from the other side.....if at all. Alternative, I just called an old friend from Silver Dollar and she serviced me just fine.

1) Any experts here on short time motels in Cebu, who can give recommendations? I saw Gumby refer to Forest Park which I've never heard of before. Short time motels aren't usually advertised.

I used the services of Queensland Manor once near SM mall and Arena and was appalled at the smell of the towels and the condition of the shower and room. It was recommended to me but unless I went to the wrong queensland, it really sucked xxx. I felt kind of sorry for the Honquera girl.
I think I only paid 200-400 pesos (can't remember exactly) but I'd rather pay much more for a better place. I like the privacy and service of a short time motel but hate the queensland room conditions. Remember my viewpoint though. Keep in mind that I'm basicly a spoiled westerner who likes the Marriott best due to luxurious conditions and great girlfriendliness. I'd like to have somewhat decent conditions even for a short timer.

2) Anyone else find the Waterfront security to be people unfriendly? Others praise the Waterfront and the checkin staff is OK but I found cochroaches in the bathroom (later saw them spraying other rooms) and didn't find the Waterfront security guy out front to be friendly. I was simply walking out of the hotel down to the road alone to get some exercise and he almost attacked me (ran right at me from behind) for getting too close (I guess) to the parked cars out front but I'm not sure. He asked me where I was going and I said sarcastically I'm walking down the road if that's OK with him. I think I would have been in the right if I'd had turned around and punched him in self defense because of the way he ran at me. It was dimly lit with noone around me so my spidey senses were on high alert at the time. I've read somewhere on the net about the unfriendliness at the Waterfront but this was ridiculous. I'm just a short, pudgy guy and look like a tourist so what's up with that?

I really would not recommend punching a security guard- last month in Cebu a guard shot a 15 year old for teasing him for being fat!!

I have been to waterfront many,many times and always found them to be fine.

My fav hotel is the Holiday Plaza> cheap, ok rooms and never have a probem to bring in girls. Even the SW's outside can be fun.
This trip I wanna impress a CB girl and got good comments on the Parklane Hotel> new, good service, location next to Ayala Mall and for 76$ reasonable.

Any experience on restrictions at night bringing in girls? Hassle from the guards...?

Try the "Prince's Court or King's Court". The Taxi drivers know where to find it and the girls like it. Both are much nicer than Queensland or Sogo. FYI - they have some themed rooms for about 450. I asked for one once and got a Mediaeval Room with bolted handcuffs on the wall. It wasn't what I wanted...but the room was big and clean.

Was about 10 days in midtown, find myself a nice girl in robinsons mall, down under the hotel, and had nice gf experience for the whole time,

Man, in robinsons, so much nice girls walk around, but most expect to marry you, not ask money, only ring, LOL

Go to coffeeshop, or sit next to internet shop restaurant on first floor

And look girls in eyes, be sure, they come to sit to you, if you make advances for them

Have fun, have girls, have sex, mmmm

Spry, just to clarify. He wasn't dressed as security. I just assumed he was from the hotel due to his question and the direction he was coming from. I was using my new nokia phone with GPS that I bought at SM and thought someone was running up from behind to attack me. Punch is probably too macho of a word. Throwing my phone at the guy and running for my life like a little girl might be more correct. Strange because I've walked around some of the really bad parts of town and never had anything threatening happen to me. Maybe just a misunderstanding due to my gangsta look of shorts and golf shirt. Or maybe he was really after my phone and I turned around fast enough to catch him in the act. Ya never know. Be careful out there.

Also sorry if anyone likes the waterfront and you felt I dissed it. As with everything in these forums, it all depends on your point of view and everyone's experiences are different. I may give it another try.

Tooch, thanks i may give it a try since sometimes I need a motel to crash for a short time. I've searched websites and they list motels like "Q5, Queensland, HOtel Sogo, Jade COurt, Prince Court, King's Court". So as to not confuse people looking for a real hotel. These short time motels are "taxi drive-in motels" which are only ok for crashing for a few hrs or overnight if you are in a bind.

P4000 is outrageous for some boo-tay here in Cebu. Especially considering all of the freebies available with little effort. Even at P2000 it better be something special!

I see a lot of criticism of Yuri, but I think if you look at it from another perspective, Yuri's post is very helpful for many people. Maybe it's Yuri's first time to Cebu (i.e. needs to be close to Ayala), short time in Cebu (i.e. doesn't have the time to try to pickup a freebie), or P4000 is relatively cheap compared to his income (e.g. P4000 = 64Euro = 50GBP). Anyone who has any $USD definitely is hurting right now.

I personally have never been to Infinity and after Yuri's post, I know some important details. I don't think the takeout rate at Infinity is any higher than other like places (i.e. KTV).

Good on ya C Buster, glad to see someone has some perspective. Everytime someone pays more than usual there is a big flap. How many time have we heard, "you'll ruin it for the rest of us".

Yet we see guys in the bars buying drinks for five women. They are getting an ego boost, the girls are happy, the bar owners is happy, but that is four women that aren't available for other customers. I never hear anyone complain about THAT!

Agreed, take it easy on Yuri folks.

If you look at the numbers in true perspective Yuri had the sense to make what he referred to as a ''Side Deal'' with the girl to take her for 2000 each night thereafter. Basically he found a good girl that he liked and after maybe paying too much (4000) the first time, he cut himself a very reasonable option thereafter.

How much more would anyone else have spent cruising the bars each night looking for a good one then paying her the 1000 rate??

Ok Ok some of us like the chop and change, me included, but when I do find a good one I prefer the short term Side Deal option as well.

No, Yuri got it right, did what he wanted and paid what he could afford. At the end of the day he didnt ruin it for everyone else either.
