You choose to live in Thailand look for work there, but some other people, like me, were called here and reluctantly accepted to come because the money was good (+ the full expat benefits).I then grew to really like it here and am quite happy that my company is satisfied with my work (extended my contract for another couple years)

I live in San Francisco, and middle class starts around $60,000 and goes up to around $150,000. The $75,000 figure I chose was on the lower end. Not really, I'm a veteran of LOS and been to many times in past (but not in the last 3years ). I make about $40-(45,000)-(if have a bonus year end), a year and also have co-workers in this range that also monger all over.It will not stop me from monger in LOS, but just have to be more realistic as to staying in cheaper hotels and spent the money saved on the only thing I came to LOS for.Also alot to do with where you live at home as $40,000 will be much more in Alabama than New York City.Just my 2centsShark

after reading through this board many times during my recent trip to bangkok, felt obliged to quickly pass on some of my experiences and adventures in the "pay for play" arena.spent two weeks in bangkok recently for some business, but was able to squeeze in good time for fun as well. was my attempt to blow some of my bonus! tried escort services, soapy massage parlors, and other massage type places and came away with the following thoughts and observations: escort services: your mileage may vary, but i was very disappointed given the high $$.1. first girl was from bkk141 ("pu"). cost was 5000 baht for 2 hours. she came to my hotel. looked different from photos. and super ordinary looking. barely spoke english and was extremely boring. and complained that i had too hairy of a chest! When you create a cartel where all the buyers collude to fix prices at a certain level. Then this in itself can spoil the market.Because if the ladies can earn better money elsewhere, such as by marrying a rich farang.
