I am arriving at Bangkok international airport at around 3:30pm on Oct 21th which is a Monday. I was told that since I don't have too much luggage and it is during rush hour, the best way would be to take the Airport link train to Phaya Thai, then transfer to the BTS Skytrain Sukhumvit line and take that to Nana.

I have never done this before so would someone tell me where to find the Airport link train which should be in the basement of the airport. Is there a clear marked way to find the Airport link train? Also where do I pay for the ticket, plus how much is the fare, do I need exact change? Sorry for so many questions but never done this before and I am hoping the someone who have done this would give me direction. Thanks

In case of doubt always go down. You cannot miss it.

Tickets are sold from vending machines or from a ticket counter. No exact change is necessary at the ticket counter. Take the ticket counter on the LEFT side. This side sells the tickets for the "express" trains. Fast, clean, comfortable and cheap.

A taxi during rush hour is simply no option in Bangkok. It will take you 30 minutes to do the last 500 m to your destination (if you are lucky).

In the Pattaya thread you said you were coming with friends. If that is the case then it would definitely be smarter to take a taxi. Especially since you have never been there before. Keep in mind that you would need to get a minivan or van because the natural gas tanks are in the trunk and 3 people with luggage more than likely would not fit in one of the regular car taxis. By the time you add up the train fares you could have paid for a taxi.
