Having grown up in the city I'd always thought of Club Mirchi as more of an actual club where you took your friends or dates but having read Alex7 j's report a few months ago and being in the mood for some desi flavor in my life decided to have a look around. At least that was the idea.

Paid the entry and went in and at first glance I thought it was still the same. But then I saw the girls walking around and randomly talking to guys and handed a red to the guy manning the bar register to check what the scene was. Maybe you were not in the best condition to think but for 2 reds, you would get a cab ride to Abu Dhabi. 50 would have been more than enough and I would pay that only if there was the proper attitude. As for the deed itself some get 500 for LT and in general for 1000 you get some decent treats, even middle easterners and Russians according to the reports in this forum. As a general piece of advice I would try to set a limit beforehand while you can still think clearly. Even better, you can just take with you that amount, it is also a powerful and proven negotiation tactics. I am an AMP guy and often times when the quoted professional fee was to high I just show what I have in my wallet, and usually she settles for that. I am sure that club goers will provide more advice but I hope your next try will be more satisfying.

Add to that the fact that Dubai is really far from the US and not that well known, so there would not be that many girls that would come on a tour like some eastern or western European gals do. Having said that, you do the best with what you have.

After 3 years here in the sandbox, I have come to realize that if you try to compare Dubai to other places (Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Venezuela) you will drive yourself crazy. It's a different scene with a different dynamic. If I may offer an observation, the "scene" has adjusted itself to respond to the "fly through" traveller who won't stay long, is willing to to drop some cash in a short period and then leave again. With the Western expat population diminishing, the real "gems" have been driven underground and are operating more of a "private client" kind of business. I saw the exact thing happen in Brazil the early 90's and again in Russia in 2005. (Yes, I AM that old). The days of meeting a stunner at Rattlesnake are the same as meeting a stunner at Night Flight. GONE!

What I do find constantly amusing however is the sheer volume of opportunities for sex in Dubai. When you consider the pretense of being a highly moral society with their blocked web sites and their burka girls, there is sex available around every corner. It's no longer about collecting phone numbers and going to the right club. It's about asking the question to the pretty sales clerk or the hot little Starbucks Barista. As has been pointed out time and time again, more than 80% of people in Dubai are foreigners here to make money. From there, it's about what they (we) are willing to do for that money.
