Sensible and pretty much right on the money
I thought this was more or less obvious, but perhaps I was wrong, so let me explain these variables using myself as a real-life example.
1. So, I was in Sao Paulo in May & June 2026 having a real good time with my branca mistress every night and hitting the SP clinicas every other afternoon for a little variety. But then I started thinking it was a fucking long time since I was in the LOS, and I kind of missed the place.
2. But the Iran War was kicking up a fuss (the interruption of gulf oil tanker flow) and WTI (West Texas Intermediate) crude oil prices had gone over $100/ barrel. I knew that would have a negative effect on Airline tickets to BKK, but I took a look see anyway and yep, prices were sky high, so I put my idea on hold.
3. In July I was back home in the free state of Florida (mango season) and all the news was about a possible deal between the USA and the Mullahs and WTI (crude oil) prices were back around $72/ barrel, so I took a look at Airline ticket prices to BKK again and guess what? They had gone down more than the price of crude. I guessed that demand for air travel and declined substantially when oil was above $100 and had not picked up sufficiently YET since oil was back under $75/ barrel and thus the airlines' nonlinear profit maximizing algorithms were telling the airlines to lower their seat price to sell a bunch of tickets and stimulate demand. In other words, I saw an opportunity to get what I wanted, a ticket to BKK as part of an around the world series of flights at a really good price..
It is good to see a sensible and common sense post on this site. I don't even read most of the posts from the loser socialists. Oil prices will definitely drop soon and be below $70 a barrel. South America seems like a good alternative to Asia. I was in BKK last month and it was great though. It will be great when Iran is subdued and it will be great to go to the Middle East again. I spent a lot of time in the Middle East in the past but most of my lingering was with the Russian and East European ladies. Did get one Iranian girl in Dubai though and look forward to another one.

Repub Trump's Worst Economic Results Ever; an update
Repub Trump's ongoing Classic Repub Mission to produce the worst jobs and economic results in USA history are exactly the same mission in kind of every conservative / right wing Repub before him and only a standout from the others since 1860 by marginal degree.
Here is the latest update on his progress in fulfilling that consistent conservative / right wing Repub mission for America and the American people:
U.S. nonfarm payrolls increase by 29,000 in September; unemployment rises to 4.2%
https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/02/jobs-report-september-2026.html?__source=androidappshare
Wage growth slipped to its lowest annual level since May 2021.
..........
In addition to the weakness in September, the August jobs count was revised lower to reflect a gain of 133,000 while July switched from a gain to a loss as payrolls fell by 10,000. The revisions in total showed 60,000 fewer jobs than previously reported.
At this pace and factoring in the 2. 7 Million to 3 Million jobs Trump's disastrous economic and national security decisions and stewardship wiped out in his first term, Trump is on track to produce and preside over at least a 1,330,000 net LOSS in USA jobs after two full terms, 8 miserable years as president.
Sure, conservative / right wing Repub Herbert Hoover's disastrous policies and stewardship wiped out 12-15 Million jobs among a smaller population almost 100 years ago. But he only served one term, the Great Dem safety-nets and Dem institutional floors had not yet been put in place to help mitigate the consistent historic damage done by these Repub policies that too many dumb hillbilly Repubs insist on voting to be accomplished by their beloved Repub presidents and Hoover didn't also add Trillions and Trillions of inflation-adjusted dollars to the deficit to produce his horrific results the way Trump has added more than any 3-4 previous presidents combined.
The combination of years spent and therefore the years available to produce a different result, the money spent to produce those horrible results and the horrible results themselves can only mark the Repub Trump so-called presidency's jobs and economic results as the Worst in USA History and possibly the Worst of any president of any country ever.
Oh well.
We tried.
I see oil prices going to between 111 - 115 before the year is out!
When I make a prediction it is not just talk. I have money on it!

Who thinks only Republicans have money?
I think the difference is that most Republicans work hard and are well off.
You actually think the political party determines work ethic and success?

Confused about the facts or are you just giving us your opinion?
Did you notice that all the anti Trump and anti America posters are all socialists / democrats and can't afford $800 to go and play in Thailand.
I did not notice this. Can you point to the specific posts you are talking about?

7 percent of the American adult population owned and managed an established business in2023.
For a broader view of entrepreneurship, data from 2025 indicates that 19 percent*of USA Adults are actively engaged in starting or running a new business, while 55 percent of adults have started their own business at some point in their lives.
They hate capitalism because they weren't smart enough to take advantage of it and now they have to monger on their social security checks.
Do you have any facts to back up your statement or are you just giving us your opinion?
You do realize that you must be 62 to received a reduced social security check. You do realize that to be eligible for Social Security retirement benefits in the United States, you must earn 40 quarters of coverage (also known as work credits). Since you can earn a maximum of four quarters per year, this generally requires 10 years of work.
Most of my friends in USA and Canada are either Republican or conservative. Most were teachers, lawyers working 40 hour weeks. In my experience republicans and conservatives work harder at harder jobs hire more people and are just more productive than democrats or liberals. Yes there are some wealthy democrats but I am speaking about the regular middle class people. I don't agree with Republicans that simply want financial slaves working on the Corporate / Government plantations.
I don't agree with Democrats who care more about where someone goes to the bathroom than actually helping my fellow citizens better themselves financially.

Being a registered Dem since 1971, I never noticed or experienced that.

Neither Party is Mine!
Interesting.
I have never been told what to think by any political party, never been prevented from thinking for myself by any political party, never felt owned by any political party, never felt I owned any political party nor can I recall ever meeting anyone else who expressed those feelings.
Have you ever felt that way or know people who feel that way, presumably the majority of whom are registered to vote under some political party?
I also have no idea what is meant by or what purpose is served by anyone "liking" or "disliking" a political party rather than liking or disliking a political party's typical economic and / or national security results.
I registered to vote for the first time in 1971. Since then I have easily and of total free will voted for Republicans, Independents, at least once a write-in vote for someone who was not a nominee for an elected position of any party.
If I had flipped a coin and registered originally as a Republican instead of a Democrat in 1971 and was too lazy or disinterested to change my registered party status ever since then I still would have stopped cold voting for any Repub for any office at any time since the middle of Reagan's first presidential term and then voted exclusively for Dems for every office up and down my ballots since Clintons 2nd term.
I made those decisions because ever since those two major inflection points the dramatic difference between crap Repub Party results and far superior Dem Party results as benefits America first and me second has been too blatantly obvious to ignore and fantasize differently. I didn't make those decisions because anyone from the Dem Party told me to and mind-controlled me into doing it. I did it based on all the unavoidable and inarguable available facts, evidence, data, record of results and easily observable reality.

I've been over this. Perhaps you didn't get the memo. No mention of them in The Constitution of the United States of America.
The Founding Fathers generally viewed political parties with deep skepticism, labeling them "factions" that threatened national unity and the republic's stability. They feared that party loyalty would override the common good, leading to division, corruption, and potentially civil war, mirroring the conflicts that had torn England apart.

Political Parties prevent individuals from thinking for themselves!
