So here's a little info from my quick stopover in Bogota.

I am sure I overpaid for everything but was in a hurry to negotiate the best price.

I stayed at the suites real 85. I haven't checked out yet but I think the price is somewhere around 175000 for a one bedroom suite.comes with a small kitchen and living room, free breakfast served in your room. I don't know what else is out there but I was quite satisfied.

First night was heading to abejita's and was taken to Angel's instead by a dude on street. So angels is one of those massage places where the massage is horrible but you pay extra for the happy ending. Seemed to be about 4-5 girls there I went with a calena with big fake tits. The massage was pretty crappy but the sex was good. Price 200, 000. Which is what I expected from others posts.

So my only day in town I hired jose to drive me around. His number is listed elsewhere. Paid him 80, 000 to take me to montessarat, museo del oro, donacion botero, plaza bolivar. We basically did a full city tour of the old city. Great guy, speaks only spanish but I do recommend him.

So at end of day I ask jose what he thinks of Atunes, he said no no no, way too dangerous. He then recommended I go to la piscina. Off we went, along the way he gave me his view of the following.

Atunes- too dangerous.

Abejitas- good place but too expensive.

Tantra place on called 67 I think- his words "muchas feas" there.

La piscine- mas economico, muchas chicas.

So on the drive over we passed Atunes and la piscina couldn't be 5 minutes away. Basically same area, so why is one dangerous and the other not. No clue. But to answer the age old question is it safe to walk around the area?

I think yes, provided its during the day and you are flashy.

As we were driving between the two they were LOTS of chicas on the street and in doorways. Some downright scary looking. Honestly I enjoyed the door-to-door service. So I arrived to la piscina at 5pm and there wasnt a lot of chicas there. I was later told around 8pm is best. Lucky for me there was a little cute chica from barranquilla just how I like them pequena and cute. We tried to talk for a few minutes and then the negotations began. I felt this was still high for santa fe standards, fellow mongers you can tell me just how much later. But I said fuckit and off we went for 100, 000. I am glad I overpaid because the sex was real good.

My guess would be the taxista said Atunes was "dangerous due to the fact that there was a huge robbery there about a month ago... but to me that would make the other bars in the zone MORE dangerous for the simple fact that they haven't been hit yet :P

I'm not down with the Santa Fe scene... but I DO know the owner of Hamburgueseria and the big branch in Usaquen got hit like a week later at midday to the tune of 120 million as well.

coming with a long delay here's finally my contribution to the forum after returning from my very first trip to colombia. stayed the most of the time. 1½ months. in bogotá. thanks to the great and informative reports on this forum i could plan my way through the colombian nightlife carefully in advance and could enjoy pleasant experiences. first of all i've to confess that i'm an eurogringo not mixing at all in the colombian scenery. on the other hand i do communicate in spanish on a professional level. i'd like to point out that the female folks of colombia didn't knocked me out in terms of beauty, body, charm or whatever a man could desire. although they haven't been exactly my cup of tea, there are some hiden gems waiting to be descovered. i can imagine that the enthusiastic forum reports are mostly written by the sexually starved northamerican bunch.

santa fé around downtown area.

nothing to write home about. due to security reasons took my local driver with me. he wasn't enthusiastic about roaming around this place, but i wanted to have my own picture on the scenery. therefore i highly recommend a local mate to be with you when checking out this area. visited la piscina and paisa bar. the atmosphere reminded me the gangster-movies of quentin tarantino and robert rodriguez. the reality around santa fé is indeed much worse. i came along some of the most scary hideous face expressions the human breed could ever bring up. on the other hand there was lots of heavily equipped police around the streets. some corpulent and gaudily made-up street workers gave me the impression to be drug addicts. in front of la piscina parked an armoured scout car with police emblem. at the entrance stood a cop with an automatic rifle in his hands. the rough and worn out faces inside the establishment seemed to be cut out from a latin american jail you see in adventure movies. however this was real. asked for black label. a big mischievious waiter stated that the drinks would be sold by the bottle only. orderd a beer an got a 1l bottle of club colombia. my companion got a 1l bottle of coke. it wouldn't embarrass anybody if you burp out loudly in this location. watched at some kind of lapdance/striptease performed on the bridge over the pool. i'd try to describe the babes: mestizos (ie indian cum spanish), low rate bitchy faces covered with tons of gaudy make-up, huge bodies, huge silicon enhanced tits, huge asses and sad expressions. my colombian mate felt obviously unconfortable in this place. not worth to pay a visit again, anyway great experience. moved on to paisa bar few streets further. drinks were served in civilized quantities there. more relaxed, however a bit of threatening tension floating in the air. a nude mestizo babe shaked her ass reluctantly on the bar. being fed up by the scenery i left somewhat disgusted, but on the other hand glad to have scratched that itch.

bar zhivago, carrera 18 # 93a-83

having had read several reports on this forum about abejitas massage parlour i was surprized to discover a detailed article about this establishment in the colombian soho magazine. it provided me with the ultimate motivation to put it on my to do list. went there around 7-8pm during the week. being at the location i had to walk around in order to find that door featuring the discreet hint about which has been discribed on this forum. no way. walked and turned into the same streets again and again to no avail. asked eventually a guard in front of a store to direct me to the above-mentioned address. he asked me straightforward whether i would be looking for abejitas. he pointed to an open door next to the store he was guarding. there was indeed no hint at that entrance leading to abejitas. went upstairs straight to the parlour and rang at the door with the inscription "abejitas". was greeted by a kind lady and gentleman and showed a treatment den. the place reminded me of a physiotherapy office, cramped, however very clean and hygienic. the lineup of "therapists" was introduced to me one by one. there were approximately 15 healers in their twenties, all of them wearing black suits (they have daily changing uniforms there). i easily chosed a tall hot stunner with an amazing body a cute face. allegedly a law student from cali. arranged for a full body massage to completion through cbj. she tried to upsell by offering intercourse for more bucks which i declined. we closed the deal at 150k cop. she honoured the contract fully. this place is highly to recommend.

la mansión, autopista norte & calle 116 (avenida pepe sierra)

some people say this is colombia's classiest brothel. used to be one of the residences of a cocaine trafficant named gacha (they say escobar's right hand). take into account that this establishment in closed on sundays! the courtyard in front of the villa was packed by big fat cross-country vehicles. got through the metal detector and had been checked by the heavily equipped security personnel wearing black combat uniforms and automatic rifles. interesting scenery. entered the main lounge and took a seat on the couch. the decoration and furnishings were swanky and offended against good taste. it was a wednesday evening and there were approximately 30 babes in their twenties on the premises. the girls can be boned in the rooms upstairs or taken out against a barfine. ordered scotch and laid back watching and assessing the available talent. despite the matter of fact that they were all pretty and the most of them even tall they gave me an impression of low rate bitchy faces. some of them displayed real sad expressions and other ogled at the punters in a penetrant way. lots of long-legged paisa-type of hotties. one aspect turned me completely off: excessive and abundant presence of silicon-enhanced bosom. had a conversation with a highly sympathetic lady of spanish descent who carried huge silicon-pumped breasts. her boobs were blowed up to the extent that the veins were clearly visible. that put me definitely off. bought her scotch as well and had a great time kissing and cuddling with her. as i wasn't in the mood (and i'll never be in that mood) to have fun with that amount of plastic i gave her a tip and paid the bill before i left the place. expenditure: 200k cop for the booze. it's an expensive, safe, however in my opinion not that classy high end establishment.

my personal advice:

as bogotá is located at 2, 628m/8, 361ft amsl (above mean sea level) the air is very thin at a quite low pressure. booze & tabacco have a pretty swift impact on your body and senses. this could impair your sexual performance as well.
