Jakarta is a fairly late night culture, party and drink and sleep late, and come late in the afternoon after lunch, salon, shopping, traffic, 4 pm-6 pm is when they start to come in waves. The good thing at Classic is if I come early and don't like the lineup, I can always go to the underground spa to get a massage and then come back.

Has anyone here applied for and received the Indonesia digital nomad Visa or second home visa? Is it worth it? I just want to pay one fee one time and not have to think about it again for years. In my experience, the 30 day Indonesia e-visa for $35 is pretty limiting, single entry, valid for only 30 days, and renewable just once for another 30 days, which is a crap. I recently applied for a Brazil e-visa and got a 10 year multiple entry visa for only $80, which is a sweet deal.

You mean that if I return back to Brazil in the next few years I can just use the same eVisa and not have to re-apply for a new one? Good thing I didn't delete the file yet.

Yes, it's a 10 yr multiple entry e-visa valid for stays up to 90 days per visit in a 12-month period.

It requires you deposit 2 billion IDR into a state owned bank and it has to just sit there and do nothing but lose value. The bank probably pays max 1-2% interest on a currency that has depreciated almost 20% against other major currencies the past 5 years. You also lose about 3% a year to inflation. If you have money to burn, it might be worth the convenience. But for most folks it seems like a terrible deal.

Haven't looked into the digital nomad visa. But I am pretty sure you have to show foreign income for it. Is probably great for influencers.

Still not quite good for long term duration. Like over 5-10 years and multiple entries. There are just such limited visa options in Indo for this.

There's no 180-day rule like in Thailand.

They won't give you tax ID unless you have earnings business inside Indonesia.

But on books it is you owe taxes if more than 180 day stay.

Few other countries enforce taxes if they know you have income from outside.

Ideally each country collect what is earned in their currency but someone can answer about on book rules vs actual enforcement.

I have only been mongering for 3 years. My comparison size is fairly small (only repeat trips to Thailand and Panama). Thailand's GFE has been otherwordly every single trip. Definitely 9/10 from a GFE perspective. Hell the GFE is so convincing, if you are not careful the fantasy blends with reality. My next trip is June 2026. I am committed to hit Jakarta first this time so I can at least increase my GFE sample size. For some context, while I have dabbled in bottom dollar street meat, cum stained mattresses, and spots with zero washroom and 100% cold transactional. Thermae? I just came off of spending a big chunk of time in Jakarta and did the different modes of mongering spas, apps, twitter, BATS, et al. Over time I developed a nice rotation of GFEs that were my type who would spend the night. For me it was a combination of putting in time and also that there are just so many ways to meet girls in Indonesia. My experience in Thailand has been a bit more business like. But perhaps I am not going about it the right way or to the right places. Despite this I do think the girls in Thailand are more consistently skilled. Do you speak Thai?
