Besides women, is Craacas an interesting city?
Is it a walking city? Good things to see?
How many nights would you recommend.
Dear Man
It is impossible to answer this question because everyone's tastes and likes/dislikes vary.
Generally speaking Caracas is not a tourist location and doesn't offer much in terms of touristy sights or historically appealing architecture (though real students of architecture will appreciate several modern(istic) structures such as the towers of El Silencio.
There is no colonial architecture or historical district because the city has had to rebuild several times from pirate raids and then a series of severe earthquakes, last one around 1900 or so. Furthermore, during the 70's oil boom, things were built "modern style".
Caracas is very much a walking city for ME, simply because of the stunning women you will see on the streets, but in terms of how I think you are asking the question, I'd say no.
Good things to see?
the women.
They're everywhere.
Take the newly operational teleferico up to the top of Mt. Avila.
How many nights? up to you.
You can probably see most of the things to see within 3-4 days.
Thanks Catire.
Mr. Man.
I hope my answer wasn't interpreted to mean that the city is bereft of cultural events, museums and other interesting thing to see and do.
Au contraire, it 's a vibrant metropolis and you can find whatever you want if you want to dig hard enough.
That said, the city certainly can't offer the stunning landscape of say, Rio de Janeiro or the readily available historical sights and pleasure of say, Cartagena de Los Indies.
but much like another city that's built along the same "modern metropolis" style, like Cali.
It has its own rewards.
catire,
i am planning to visit caracas in june, do you have any info about the chicas on sexycaracas.com?
or you have any recommendation?
what is the term "lluvia de oro", [CodeWord103]?
thanks
mark
Mark, regarding your questions.
1) not really, what kind of info did you have in mind? I've only used it once, with an agency girl and in that singular lucky instance I struck proverbial gold. She's no longer around and even if she were I'm not into "recommendations".
2) no
3) yes
my only recommendation if you're going to use the site is not to read it and especially the prices in English. Unless something has changed the prices were converted when the exchange rate was roughly 1000 to 1, whereas these days on the black market, it's 3000 to 1.
so click on the Spanish version to see pricing and the divide by 3000.
Catire
Thanks for your comment.
Any suggestions for hotel in Caracas with Chicas friendly?
Thanks
Mark
Mark SOS, almost all of them are guest friendly, assuming you don't bring in obvious streetwalkers.
Every girl, whether from an agency or one you grab from a club, will have appropriate dresswear to wear on the street or on premises.
If money isn't an object, for you, then I'd recommend the new JW Marriott in El Rosal. (it will run you slightly more than a $100 a night)
there are MANY more economical options, you might look into the so called 4 star hotel options.
Catire,
Thank you for your info.
My travel agent books me Intercontinental, is this good for action?
I am going to try to check out chicas on chica800.com, did you try any of them?
Any good recommendations for having BBBJ CIM in Caracas?
Thanks,
Mark
I'm not familiar with that hotel, does it have another name?
where is it?
no matter,as I said, guest are not a problem (with discretion on your end)
not familiar with those other website girls, I like to meet girls I want to spend time with, with face to face before making such a decision.
not familiar with those abbreviations the CIM one, but I am guessing bareback bj to completion:?
that's something you will have to discuss with the girl. Uncovered bj's aren't a problem. Completion is a personal matter, hence you need to discuss beforehand.
Catire et al,
The Inter-Continental in Caracas is better known as the Tamanaco, an older hotel but in a good location in Los Mercedes. IME, girls from the clubs are reluctant to go there and prefer a "hotel transitorio", but I believe that's because they usually get shaken down by hotel security on the way out. If you assure your lady you will safely see her to a taxi, there shouldn't be a problem.
Personally, I would stay at the Embassy Suites or the Marriott, which are both girl-friendly. The CCCT Best Western is friendly as well, but the last time I was there the place was falling apart due to poor maintenance.
Happy Hunting,
EM
agreed that Embassy Suites and Marriott are much better from a location standpoint. At the Tamanaco you are on the fringes of the city. I've never stayed at any of these hotels, but had a friend who stayed at the Marriott and I visited him several times.
Catire,
Not to quibble, but whilst the Tamanaco may be "on the fringes of the city" it remains close to the main places of action (at least for us turistas), less than five minutes by taxi to the Doral, maybe 15 minutes in traffic to Morrison or Angelus or Saba. And walking distance to a lot of good bars and restaurants (should one dare cross the street)... and a quick taxi ride to the nice places in Altamira, etc., so...
It's a lovely hotel overall, but my main reasons for staying elsewhere are that 1) it's old, with small rooms; 2) it's expensive in USD, though that's Caracas in general (I once got nailed something like $300 at the Eurobuilding for a POS regular room); 3) the girls I've pulled from clubs don't like to go there, because as I noted earlier, they apparently get shaken down (that said, I've had at least three ladies in the place -- walk them to the taxi, and all should be fine. A tip for the doorman or security guard never hurts, of course, anywhere.
Just to clarify that I'm not quibbling, I'm with you, Catire -- Marriott or Embassy would be my places of choice, but I understand business travelers don't always have a choice. (That's how I've wound up at the Tamanaco more times than I care to remember.)
OK, there's also a relatively new place, the Four Seasons. Hideously expensive back when I last looked into it, and I know nothing about it's "friendliness," though I think that in VZ -- as in other places -- this is more a matter of appeasing/fending off/tipping the security guards as you walk your lady out. Claro, YMMV.
Happy Hunting,
EM
I realize most of this is in past postings, but could one of you Caracas pros give us a quick summary of what you would do, knowing what you know now, if you were going to Caracas for the first time for a week. Just a few sentences with the best hotels, clubs, prices, would be great. Thanks!
