Hello fellow mongerers,

Starting my vacation yesterday but having surgery tomorrow, and fearing another lockdown soon, I figured I'd go for a quick visit to Amsterdam for the novelty factor. One day of pure debauchery. Long time lurker, I reread the first twenty pages during the travel to plan the day.

Started in the RLD after noon, ID say 15 windows are open during the day? A lot of under average / elderly ladies sadly. The government asks us to do things in a certain way and does not compel us to do it like that and does not forbid too much. We like our own responsibility. Foreigners like to do anything that is not forbidden. So yes, to you it might look very lax but that is just because we have a different relation with our government. It is one of trust.

My favorite mongering scene is SC and FFK in Germany. Second to that is Amsterdam. Preferably the daytime crew because there are so many idiots on the streets during the night. It has been very slow the last weeks but today it was a marvelous come-back. Especially Dollebegijnensteeg and OudeKennissteeg are filled with beauties. Trompettersteeg has some fine ladies too. Beauty of the girls is a bit above average before Corona. Of course I went straight to my favourite Lily. She is on the first window on the right in the Dollebegijnensteeg. It was good as ever. The Wallen being the most famous. The other areas are more hassle to get there and not much of a reward in return. The Wallen is close to Central Station. With some ladies you can shower but not with all of them and almost nobody does that. In each room is a faucet and you can shortly wash your private parts there. Not much of a problem if you go to your hotel or home afterwards. Even E. Coli takes 20 minutes to double their number, so not really top of hygiene but it's better than most windows in other places (Brussels for example). The rate should be 50 for 15 minutes or any multiple of that. Don't ever go for 15 minutes. It is going nowhere. Don't pay more than this. Some of the higher end clubs in the city have showers, hot tubs, etc. Not sure about DFK. Depends on the girl, her mood, you, etc. I'd say your odds are at least 50/50 in the sex clubs or brothels. Maybe 20% in the RLD.

However, as it looks now only the three Christian parties (CDA, CU and SGP) are in favor of a ban, but they don't have the majority in the parliament. Not by far, only 27 seats of 150.
It's nothing new by the way. The discussion comes up every now and then and some organizations have tried a couple of times before to ban prostitution, but they never succeeded.

Nevertheless some RLDs have been closed in recent years, like the ones in Arnhem and Utrecht, or partially closed, like the main RLD in Amsterdam. Personally I think that more RLDs will follow and that more and more women will choose to work from home and advertise online.

So far the the efforts to curb prostitution are more local than national. There are some differences now. This proposal to ban prostitution is national and Government too is working on a new bill. The government wants agencies and prostitutes to work with government licenses. Anyone who pays a prostitute that has no license is punishable by law. So, licensed prostitutes would follow the current Dutch model. Unlicensed prostitutes would follow the Nordic model. I think this government bill is very likely to pass the process of legislation. For the customer of the RLD there is no real problem. A girl has to get the key to her room and will have to show her license then. Of course the christian parties will try to hand out fewer licenses. I do not think that RLD's will grow much smaller in the future. They only succeeded when there were real problems with other people around the RLD complaining about them (Arnhem and Utrecht). In Amsterdam it was the leader of the Social democrats that used tax money to buy property in the RLD. Their money ran out. They made a pact with a large insurance company to buy property in the RLD (Achmea). But so far there have been no new acquisitions. The favors the city council of Amsterdam wanted to grant Achmea in return were questionable. But I do not know the current state of this agreement. Then the current mayor (female) of Amsterdam seems to have only one objective: the safety of the girl. Her party is all for the Dutch model, not the Nordic one. So, most likely nothing much will change in the near future. Except for the fact that you might have to ask the girl for her license.

If the RLD would be closed you would not notice a significant drop in the number of tourists I think. Also because the number is growing rapidly each year (pre Covid anyway). If the coffee shops would be closed as well, then it might be a different story LOL.
