My guess is that these trends tend to be more organic than planned. Question is, who spends more on drinks? I would assume the bar owner would want to cater to them.

I can speak about the turnover in Thermae as it is something I witnessed 1st hand over a period from 2001 till well, what you see today.

The Japanese began appearing in Thermae in early 2001. A very few at first who would congregate at the back of the room. There were very few "jap hunter" girls at the time. Slowly but surely more and more light skinned girls began coming into the bar. Initially there many would pop over from Thaniya after their shift was over or on their days off. With more and more pretty light skinned girls came more and more Japanese. The closing of the Siam Hotel on Phetburi had an impact as well. The coffee shop there was really the Asian Thermae, with tons of girls finishing work at the Phetburi soapies going there for a "nightcap." Girls were far better than Tmae on average and just like the current environ in Tmae, only some would go with Farang. By 2007 Thermae was getting to be pretty 'Nese, with Asian dudes making up at least half of the clientele and with many gals who would not [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140][CodeWord140][/url] on a Western dude if he was on fire. The eco crisis impacted Thaniya and sent more and more Japanese to Thermae as their expense accounts would not bear the Thaniya burden anymore. Of course the cycle continued, more and more Asian dudes and more and more gals that appeal to them. Sad thing is the racist element. Many of the gals just won't go with Western men. Not only will they not go with Western men, but they are openly rude to them. I have seen many gals there recoil in horror when a white man tries to talk to them. They also get major flak from their friends if they are seen leaving with one. Back in 08 one of my younger friends had a gal there that liked him, but she would not be seen leaving with him, instead opting to meet him on Soi 15 so they could discreetly slip away in a taxi without her friends noticing. Frankly, this attitude from the girls is one reason I rarely enter the place these days. Why do they act this way? My guess is the answer is multi-faceted. The Japanese do not want to see girls they go with being taken by the white man. Also, the girls feel superior because they are going with an Asian guy.

What is the point you ask? Well, again it is the organic theory. I don't think any of this was ever "planned." In the case of Rainbow if more and more dark girls come to work with their friends then the clientele will change. Bar owners are struggling to get girls and cannot be choosy at the moment. I think the struggle for girls will continue as the economy is booming and there are more and more other opportunities for women.

I see the gogo scene developing with a very few select bars that have real lookers. At these bars girls will command high prices. The rest of the bars will be mediocre at best. Of course I see this throughout the P4P scene in BKK and it is really no different from what has developed in much of the West. High dollar girls and skanks, without much in between. The middle of the road gal with a brain can now get a job that will pay her a living wage, and for the vast majority of women, that is preferable to renting their bodies. The days of the part timer are pretty much over. My bread and butter for years was freelancers who had legit jobs and would come out a few times a month to supplement. The week before the 5th of the month (when rent is due in most Thai apts) was always amazing at freelancer venues with hordes of semi-pros out to garner a few thousand extra baht. Well, they don't need that anymore.

Bangkok is a very dynamic city. The pace of change has accelerated since the flood. Leave for six months and you are coming back to a different city. One thing for sure; the pace of change will continue to pick up and most changes in the P4P scene will not be that wonderful for the majority of Western mongers.

Enjoy what you have today. It will be different soon.

I am not going to labour on this one but we generally all have slightly different interpretations of what constitutes a "pretty" lady. From your post it appears you feel slightly intimidated by either European or generally Western customers in the same venue as you. Although football (correct name as it is a sport played with a ball which is controlled by the "foot" and not the hand, ie gridiron) is the most popular sport in Europe less than 2% can be considered hooligans and that is constantly declining. Do you prefer to mix with Japanese customers or is it that you like the same type of lady they do?

So if I owned Rainbow 4 I wouldn't try to staff it with girls that I myself find attractive. I wouldn't be trying to entice any one nationality or race of people. I would give the market what the market wants, it's simple economics, supply and demand. In short I would strive to create an environment where customer satisfaction is maximized and therefore so is revenue.

my last day in bkk. (afternoon)

so now it is my turn to weigh in on dr bj's blow job place. i did my research and preselected girls either ee or g ahead of time. (going strictly on 'said' talent) when i got into the place, i was told ee was busy, but g popped up right away when she heard her letter. see g's pic on the website.

so i go through the wash and rinse cycle and the girl steps aside and sinks to her knees. she looks up at me and starts blowing away. the girl is pretty good, nice tongue action, great eye contact and after about a minute of this she directs me into the chair. i get into the chair and now feel like i am going to get my hair washed because my head is now hanging over the wash basin part. i had to slide down to keep this from happening.

1) i felt like i was in a cattle line. there were a few other guys getting serviced at the same time and we could all hear each other knocking around, grunts, squishes, etc. i guess what accentuates this is none of the rooms have a ceiling. if not for the heavy chicken wire up top one could throw spit balls from one stall to the neighbors next to you.

2) bar area did not feel like a very sociable area for other mongers to bond or fraternize.

3) when i enter the establishment 'excited' and ready to go, the mood gets destroyed when the girl leaves you in the room for a couple of minutes. i am not sure why she leaves the room. my favorite place in germany used to have the girls carry a money pouch around their waist which also contained other supplies. there was never any leaving / returning. when you tell her 'yes', in three seconds she in on her knees and at work immediately. introducing delays does nothing but spoil the moment and it actually takes the girl longer to get the job done because of it. spontaneity is lost.

4) the wash process also removes the spontaneity. i think baby wipes are fine and minimizes the spontaneous loss, but that is just me.

so there you have it. i can see that some guys really take to the place. for me, i just like things a little more spontaneous with less delays. if we are talking money. 1k did not bother me because even in patts with close to mandatory drinks that is what it is costing you. one drink in sol and the money is just about the same there too. if your trip is ruined by the extra 5-$10, i really don't think you belong in thailand.

i stopped at sol in the evening. i will report on that later.

Also let's not forget two well know factors, the 3-3-3 (that maybe now became 4-3-3) rule and the fact that Thai people do way too much assimilation in the same class or behavior social groups.

The first is well know, and just another confirmation was recently given to us by some poster here, Asians are fast to finish, and rarely come up with strange demands. While a Westerner more often that not, comes up with some fantasy of the moment, like trying some substance, going to after-hours, romp long time, eat pasta and pizza, indulge in romance, or any activity that we can find entertaining, due to the fact that we grow up in a pretty much liberated, curious and individualistic culture. And that in most cases we happen to think that company of this type doesn't have to be paid for, except that we foot the bill. Some girls may like that, most don't, they prefer to spend their time sitting where they only have to wait for the next customer, or if they have one, make cute faces, sing some song, fill his glass incessantly, and being paid for.

And the second is about how Thai girls interact between themselves, especially the P4P ones. Probably not enough has been written on this, and I'm a poor writer, but I've seen enough during the years to get some understanding of it. You hit the nail right on the head. I don't know shit about bars and gogos, but I know FL like my hand knows my dick. I really love the cliques here in Pattaya. I refer to the biggest, most known, as the mafia. There is always an Alpha and Beta. And girls in other cliques are scared shitless of this group.
