Pattaya Walking Street bars warned: No prostitutes, no guns and be closed by 3 am.
Does this also apply to the Discos, I. E. Ibar / Insomnia and Lucifer?
Any news from LK metro?
I feel like the last oasis of freedom for us is under threat.

A friend told me Insomnia closed at 3 last night. I'll see for myself tonight. I also heard selling ladydrinks is not allowed anymore. Several bars have been fined and forced to shut down for 30 days.

Looks like pattaya has had it.
Do you know which bars? Walking Street ones or throughout the city?
Those bars were on the dark side, from what I heard.

A culture which behaves like a cancer and eats other cultures. Destroying sex families recreation and leaving in its wake obedient workers and consumers.

This is Armageddon!
I heard the same form one of my girls about Ibar. Says it closes sometimes between 2 to 4 AM these days.
Some good intel on what Ibar looks like under this new regime would be greatly appreciated.

Destroy the indigenous economy (which benefits the common small scale producers (I. E. Girls plying their trade and sending money home to their families) and replace it with a centralized economy which sucks all the profits out and sends them to the corporate center in the West.
The reality of so called crackdowns in Thailand be it on drugs, gambling or the sex industry are for the most part opportunities for better connected operators to put competition out of business and if not out of business to make it as difficult as possible for them.
Who gets targeted depends on which faction is in power at any given time. Believing it to be bonafide attempts to "clean up" is naive. It is were otherwise Walking Street, Cowboy, Nana et al would be closed down overnight. Notwithstanding sporadic "raids" for the foreseeable future Thailand will continue to be a destination for adult entertainment.
The sex industry should be licensed and regulated to eliminate corruption with law enforcement concentrating on SNIP and exploitation.
You and I see it the same way and you summed it up well. For those punters who think this is about moral high ground or family holidays, I say, "follow the money" This is about money and could it be that the money will be from casinos? Follow the news of Chinese tourists gambling in Macau. I believe there is a circle of extremely powerful people who are determined to open Thailand to gambling and will start with Pattaya. Somehow they have decided that the existing trade and a gambling trade cannot coexist. Perhaps they think that gamblers will not come if Pattaya has been outed by a UK media source. As a punter it is hard for me to imagine that to be true but I recognize this may just be my bias.
Is it all that bad if iBar closes at 3 am? It would mean girls start showing up at iBar earlier and you end up getting them in your room earlier (ie. A longer LT).
The bigger concern is the no lady drink one. How will a bar make any money? Why would a girl work in a bar if she can't make money on LD's?
Also, is barfining going to be considered prostitution? Hopefully not as bars will say girls are just going out with customers for dinner. Girls will likely be instructed they can not discuss sexual services in a bar any longer.
This is already the height of low season. My girls are truly suffering for money now. Many have already pawned off everything of any value that they own.

Everything I have ever read on Thai visa dot com was either horse shit or only lasted for a short time. Business will be back to normal sooner than you can say 4 inches, 4 minutes, 4,000. LOL.

As far as the reputation of Pattaya being a big red light district goes, the whole world knows it. These crackdowns are temporary and I am sure when the proper settlement is negotiated things will be normal again. Who says that gambling and P4P can't coexist? In fact they compliment each other.
I have no doubt this move on Soi 6 is a move on Mr F. It's embarrassing for the Thai govt when there are articles about a farang being a "king pin" of a whole strip of clubs. This may be an incremental ban targeting him. They start with a partial closure in the off season, minimizing the impact on the women, but disproportionately impacting BF.
I don't think they are targeting him because he is a falang exactly. I think that has to do with it though, because if he were Thai, he would be able to manage the bars in a way that is respectful to Pattaya / Thailand reputation. But instead, he markets soi 6 as a sleazy street, then gets upset when tabloids report on the very product has knowingly put on the shelf. For example, I was walking down Soi 6 in Jan 2017 and saw a guy having full on sex right outside in the beer bar patio, huge white ass cheeks bobbing all around. It's videos / pictures like this that get leaked that are indeed very damaging to Thailand, and if they didn't 1) market Soi 6 as this kind of place and 2) actually enforced rules like not having sex right outside on the street then well, they wouldn't be having this crack down. They need Thai PR managers if they want to survive and an active Thai management of the girls and customers (not allowing them to get overly raunchy) if they want to continue to operate.
Walking Street is not safe by any means. Some gogo bars were raided a couple months ago and it will happen again. Main criteria appears to be sex on the premises. There's 1,000+ massage parlors for the cops to get to.
MrManGuy, it's about money being made by a farang over a Thai person.
Ha, "sex on the premises. " No wonder Soi 6 is being raided so much, since that is what the Thais find offensive (for whatever reason, it's their country and their rules). Sometimes bargirls have sex right outside of the premise, in the road LOL, on soi 6 (alcohol, up to customer). That can't possibly be doing any good for Soi 6's reputation at this point, no wonder why they are trying to clean that up, it clearly got out of hand.
