But the talent pool will be reduced as a lot of the gogo and Soi 6 girls that go there after their bars close will no longer do so.

Maybe not a huge deal for me as most of my Ibar girls are either full time FLs or part timers up from BKK.

Still, less girls overall will make it more of a sausage fest than it already is.

Actually, you often had to wait to go there until after 2-3 AM, because that's when the guys who aren't familiar with the scene (tourists who heard about it) get fed up from standing around and leave (empty handed). Now that that isn't the case well, I wonder if ibar is even worth it. Especially considering everywhere else closes at 3 am so if you strike out there, there isn't anywhere else to go. Seems like getting laid early will be the key now, and try to beat the "last call for alcohol / pussy" crowd. Used to be, you could just wait since you had until 5 AM.

Good thing I plan to spend 10 days in Bali before returning mid Feb.

I always knew the British owner of the Soi 6 bars would get into serious trouble. All you had to see were his Facebook posts on a daily basis aggressively promoting his girls, coupled with pics of him with local Politicians and making it pretty clear they were on his payroll.

Then the fool goes on Facebook showing his Thai wife buying a New Mercedes S 550 coupe, pictures and all. She then promptly gets called in to the local police station and the fool posts pictures of that too on his Facebook page and how she paid the fine and came right back.

It was all this in your face aggressive behavior, constant expansion (like a virus) of buying and opening more and more bars and aggressively marketing them on a daily basis via Facebook and upping the wages for the girls and soliciting more and more girls publicly on Facebook with guarantees of 25,000 baht- 40,000 baht per month.

Really foolish for a farang. One does not see Thai owners in BKK ever doing this publicly with pics of their wives then buying a new Mercedes and how concurrently they were expanding and opening a new place every 2-3 months, with pictures of them with local politicians.

He was so in your face, I used to read all the Facebook posts on all his bars (like 7-8) because I could not believe his stupidity and spent many hours talking with his young, aggressive bar managers at Ibar after 2 am ( when they were unwinding and were drunk ) and I knew then this would all go south in a hurry and the guy would either end up in jail or dead.

So. Yeah, don't blame the British tabloids. They could see all the posts of this British owner and his various bars and individual bar GM's posting everyday. This was self destructive behavior in an Asian country where he became so drunk with his own success that he openly flouted all cultural norms and brought serious trouble for the local politicians and cops (not to mention jelsously and anger from his Thai owner competitors who were seeing their $ shrink).

I'm hearing some Soi 6 bars have licenses to open before 6 pm. Also hearing some WS discos have licenses to open after 3 am.

I have really only talked to AJ at Sexy in The City an have found him to be kind of a ditz (though basically a good guy). Did not really spend all that much time in his bar as I never found the girls at that bar to be remotely attractive.

I did like some of the girls at Nightwish though. Was Ruby one of his bars too?

Then look at their posts and also Visitor posts, events, etc. For the stuff I was referring to it was between June 16 and February 17 (impacts with police and govt works with a lag) . And he posted there (don't know if some posts were taken down) , because I stopped looking after February 2017. If you find his posts then you can also look on his own personal page (where he for example talked about working in London over Christmas / NY (while his mgrs and wife were managing his Pattaya businesses) for big money. You will also see the evolution of the guy's persona / confidence going back in time. Also, his own and young son's passion for Thai boxing etc. (FYI, I have not looked since Feb and have no plans to revisit now, so I am recalling everything from memory and my memory on all this is very sharp and very factual). Some of the stuff I was referring to was on his own personal page which I went to after finding his posts on one of his bar pages and surfing from there. I am pretty sure I reviewed or quickly scanned every single post by him or his managers on the individual bar pages and his own personal page going back a number of months since from the very beginning I found his setup concerning because of the public nature of the Facebook posts and my professional work (and understanding of THai business culture) in Thailand going back to the late 80's.

And no, I don't believe Ruby was one of his (because I know you like that one), and I specifically looked simply out of concern for safety while at his places (I only visited his places during the day, and as you know I never do anything on premises at any of these places, as a matter of personal policy). There was one girl I was going to meet up with at Insomnia later but it did not work out as she tried to call me a different night (I posted about all that in Feb I believe). There were a couple of other girls there who I wanted to observe and buy them drinks and see if I ran into them later at Insomnia but I never hooked up with any of them.

( For those familiar with some of the guys running similar establishments in Costa Rica ( a guy got busted simply for promoting via YouTube videos and another guy / owner in San Jose who had a massage place was shot/murdered ) or in the DR where guys in Sosua just running Insomnia type bars ( who got shut down and lost huge money) or in Peru where one was doing stiff primarily via ISG and was jailed for [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord902][CodeWord902][/url] stuff even though he owned a genuine marketing business, the result of this kind of in your face behavior by farangs/ gringos often results in this sort of problems with the authorities / people in power.

And it seems the locals are very careful whereas the foreigners quickly forget where they are after living and successfully making lots of money in these kinds of establishments in foreign locales. Because they get drunk with their success and keep pushing the envelope and expanding to where it becomes a political problem. Finesse and keeping under the radar was not something these guys understood at all.

Somewhere I read he have a plan of opening a disco like I-bar. May be it is his plot to attack his opponents in Soi 6 and I bar so that he can buy the full Soi 6 one by one and it will be easier for him to open a disco with permit for beyond 3 am. Who knows?

I do not know anything but this is my just thinking.

If anyone can confirm the nature of recent Soi6 raid (whether it was on his group bar or it was on other bar), Then we can conclude whether the move on Soi 6 is a move on Mr F.

Or the motive is purely neutral and a govt action based on some complex political reasons.

The problems is most likely that running an outright sex establishment (e. G. Massage parlor) entails huge fees to the police (the Rachada boss Chuwit spoke about this), and also a certain degree of discretion, they're not openly soliciting punters and scandalizing passer-bys out in the street. Small take-out bars like Soi 6 try to have their cake and eat it too -- openly advertise rauchiness, while offering sex on the premises (efficient for the bar), while not paying all that much protection money to the police to justify it all.

Ibar was open till 4, Insomnia till 5 last night. Flexx club closed, JP bar closed for one month.

Can you still bar fine in gogos or is that not happening at the moment?
